June 29, 1901 – Singer-actor Nelson Eddy, the narrator of Disney’s 1946 film “Make Mine Music”, was born in Providence, Rhode Island.
June 29, 1908 – Disney Legend & artist John Hench was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He would make pioneering contributions to such Disney films as “Fantasia” and “Dumbo,” and became senior vice president at Walt Disney Imagineering.
June 29, 1915 – Actress Ruth Warrick, who potrayed Sally in Disney’s 1946 “Song of the South,” was born in St. Joseph, Missouri.
June 29, 1916 – Actress Ruth Warrick, who played Sally in Disney’s “Song of the South”, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri.
June 29, 1935 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “Who Killed **** Robin” was released.
June 29, 1945 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Donald’s Crime” was released.
June 29, 1951 – Disney’s Goofy cartoon “Tomorrow We Diet” was released.
June 29, 1951 – Comic book writer and illustrator Dan Rosa was born Gioachino “Keno” Don Hugo Rosa in Louisville, Ky. He is best known for his stories about Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and other Disney characters.
June 29, 1957 – The Dave Brubeck Quartet recored tracks for a Disney-themed record album titled “Dave Digs Disney.” (The album was inspired by a Brubeck Family visit to Disneyland.
June 29, 1965 – Stan Kenton and his orchestra began a 6-day engagement at Disneyland.
