How Long Does Chicken Last in the Freezer?

I have a large Perdue Oven Stuffer Roaster in the freezer that has a 'use or freeze by' date of February 5th. I have another one with a May date. Is the February chicken still safe to use? It was frozen in the original packaging that it was purchased - I didn't wrap it in foil or anything. It doesn't look freezer burnt. Any advice?

As long as it was frozen by the "freeze by" date it should be okay for at least 6 months. I think your biggest risk is freezer burn. If you don't plan to use it soon I would wrap it in heavy duty foil to protect it longer

According to the Perdue website a oven stuffer roaster will keep for 9 months in the freezer.

Since you didn't repackage it-I would just give it a good look over--but I think unless you have some freezer issues it should be fine.
