For my 1000th post :woohoo::party2: I wanted to know where you travel from to DW? It is really hard to tell from everyones signature where you are at...
Sorry if I havent included every location...I can only ask for 10...Just pick the state that you are close to...
If you are wondering why WV is on it, thats because that is where I am from...(please no jokes)

DW and I used to have a short flight from MD, now it's a little longer. We fly from New Zealand to LA, then to MCO. It's a little bit longer...(sigh) but SOOO worth it when we get there. Plus, because it takes so long to get there and back, we feel like we HAVE to stay a little longer to make it worth it. heheh

I picked New Jersey, because we have family there, but we're actually closer to New York. We're in Massachusetts very close to Connecticut. We fly out of Bradley when we fly. With the way flights are going, we may be driving next time, who knows.

Providence, RI usually. They are the local southwest airport - though Manchester , NH isn't too much farther.

We come from Missouri near Kansas City....I cannot bring myself to click Illinois for some reason. Pretty proud of the Missouri thing, since Walt grew up here.:mickey::thumbsup:

We travel from Wisconsin. Since the only state on here close to me is Illinois I abstain from voting. Like Marceline I cannot bring myself to click Illinois, probably the Packer fan in me.

I'm sorry this was a poll, because there are lots of states and countries that didn't make this list.

We're from Az., and too far away to drive, since DH only gets one week, so let's hope the friendly skies stay "friendly":mickey:

We are from Enfield, CT, which is in Northern CT right on the MASS border (yet still officially considered Red Sox Nation!). We fly out of Bradley International

I fly from Boston-Orlando :plane:. Judging by all the "Boston accents" I hear and Red Sox shirts I see at WDW:, there are a ton of people who travel from MASS.

Interesting poll. I suspect a lot will be from the NY/NJ Metropolitan area as well as GA. Whenever we are in Disney, we always meet other people from Jersey!

Now that you mention that everytime we go to the Indiana Jones show at least 2 people who go on stage are from NJ (I think one is the stunt man mixed in the crowd).

I voted NJ. Although I live in PA, I grew up in NJ, work in NJ and live only minutes from there.

we drive from the top part of NC a little town called mayberry where Andy Griffith grew up. So now they (the city ) are trying to make it a tourist spot and I do beleive it seems to be working alot of people who like the show come to eat at the "Snappy Lunch" or have there hair cut at "floyds barber shop".

We come from St. Louis, Missouri. I, like someone else, refuse to vote Illinois. I live right across the great Mississippi from Illinois, but I am from the Show Me State. Besides, the Cubs are in Illinois and I CAN NOT and WILL NOT ever claim to be from the state of the Cubs.

Sorry to any Cubs fans, but if you know anything about Cards/Cubs series, you know EXACTLY what I am talking about.

Texas here, sometimes we fly, sometimes we drive. Nowdays, some fly and some drive, depending on who wants to do what and who has what amount of time off. No matter what, we all find a way to get to the World together.

The choices that are available make it hard for some of us to answer this poll.

How about, US NE, US NW, US SE, US SW, US Midwest, Americas, Canada, Europe, Asia, Other. That would have been interesting. :mickey:

Since July of last year, I travel from overseas.

I leave from Beef Island International/Tortola, BVI (EIS) to San Juan (SJU), from there hop on the Orlando (MCO) nonstop or go to Miami(MIA) and connect to Orlando.

I miss being a local at times.

Maybe you can start that poll up. It would be better choices to fit the range of families that visit WDW.

Had to choose New Jersey on the poll only because it's the closest to Philadelphia. Up until ten years ago we drove the 2100 mile round trip but age has a way of making us wiser, not older, ;) and we now fly. We get the first available non stop flight out and the last available flight home. The airport is less crowded at those times, delays are at a minimum and we get more time to enjoy our second home.:cloud9::number1:

From the Northern Virginia/Washington DC/Baltimore MD area.

Normally, I would be living in South Carolina-a day drive to WDW. We still have a house there, and I still say I am from "carolina".

But for over a year now, I have lived in Reno, Nevada. So I had to click on California. It would be a veeeery long drive to WDW from here-about 6 days. But we are a day drive to DL!

I like living in both states-the best of 2 worlds.
Nv-weather is great, scenic mtns/lake tahoe.
SC-close to Ocracoke NC, family and friends. BBQ!

Originally being from Maine, born and raised a New Enlglandah, I have flown out of MHT (Manchester, NH) and I have flown from BOS Logan out of Boston. However, five years ago, I moved to Baltimore, MD, so now, BWI (Baltimore) is my airport. But we have found the occasion to just drive the 931 miles. It's only about 12 hours, if I'm not too tired. :secret:I drive fast.:secret:

For almost a year, my husband and I have been driving from the Atlanta, GA, area.

For three years prior to that, we always flew Continental from Cleveland, OH.

And prior to that, we flew Delta Shuttle from Dulles in Northern Virginia.

It is pretty nice being able to drive now; it takes us 6.5 hours.

We fly out of RDU in NC. There is, today anyway, no amount of $$ that would make me enjoy the ride from the far north of NC to WDW with 2 boys who love to argue and DH in the same car for that long. If we were to do that, you would immediately see a story on the nightly news "Woman jumps from moving car onto I-95 traffic looking for relief"

Another vote for Canada:number1:, we live near Grand Bend, Ontario, small tourist town, well in the summer anyway. We fly out of Detroit, as the airfare flying in the US is much cheaper than to fly anywhere from Canada:secret:, and I live pretty much equal distance from either Detroit or Toronto(large airport as well), so we go to Detroit!!! We've also driven it several times, just like the shorter trip on the plane:)!

Sorry, can't answer. Really wouldn't make much sense to say I come from a place I don't.

We fly from Kansas City...

... Home of the Kansas City Chiefs
... Home of the Kansas City Royals
... Home of the American Royal Barbeque Contest
... At the crossroads of I-70, I-35 & I-29
... At the confluence of the Missouri and Kaw rivers
... Home of the only World War 1 memorial and museum.
... American Idol's David Cook
... Home of Walt Disney's Laugh-O-Gram studios

I could go on, but I won't. And frankly, I don't want to be from any of the choices offered.

I'm in Baton Rouge but a N.O. native. Map Quest says I'm 707 miles from SSR but I must have taken a short cut b/c my odometer said it was only 683.

You forgot the GREAT WHITE NORTH....CANADA...eh!!

I travel from Kitchener, Ontario which is about 3 hours north of Detroit Michigan and 1.5 hours west of Buffalo, NY. In the past we always drove to Disney....about 24 hours non stop! This year we decided to fly for the first time to Disney. We fly out of Detroit on July 12th!!!

By the way, I presume WV means West Virginia? If so, it's a gorgeous state!!
