I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this issue on what they did and how it was handled in the past.
If you have reservations for say 6 or 8 people and only 4 or 6 people are able to make it to the dinner reservation that night due to an illness or something along those lines(thus you only know within a short amount of time prior to the seating time), how has it been handled at the podium by the host/hostess?
