June 13, 1892 – Actor Basil Rathbone was born in South Africa. His Disney Voice Credits include the 1986 “The Great Mouse Detective” and the 1949 “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.” (Movie fans may know him best for his role of Sherlock Holmes in countless features produced during the 1940’s.)
June 13, 1910 – Character actress Mary Wickes, who was the animator’s live-action model for Cruella DeVil in Disney’s “One Hundred and One Dalmatians,” and the voice of the gargoyle Laverne in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
June 13, 1913 – Bill Thompson, the voice of many animated Disney characters such as Uncle Waldo in “The Aristocrats,” and King Hubert in “Sleeping Beauty,” was born in Terre Haute, In.
June 13, 1920 – Actor Rex Everhart, the voice of Maurice in Disney’s 1991 classic “Beauty and the Beast,” was born in Watseka, Il.
June 13, 1926 – Actor Paul Lynde, who played the sportscaster in Disney’s 1963 “Son of Flubber,” was born in Mount Vernon, Oh.
June 13, 1927 – Disney’s Alice Comedy “Alice’s Channel Swim” was released.
June 13, 1931 – Disney’s 8-minute Mickey Mouse cartoon “The Delivery Boy” was released.
June 13, 1949 – Actor Simon Callow, the voice of the Grasshopper in Disney’s 1996 “James and the Giant Peach,” was born in London, England.
June 13, 1953 – Comedian-actor Tim Allen, who played Tim Taylor on “Home Improvements,” and the voice of Buzz Lightyear in both Disney’s “Toy Story” series, along with other Disney credits, was born in Denver, Co.
June 13, 1962 – Disney’s live-action feature film “Big Red,” starring Walter Pidgeon was released.
