As it turns out, we are arriving earlier than expected and I have always wanted to try the afternoon tea at the GF. I have extra DDP points because we are using the Deluxe plan. Does anyone know if the GF Tea accepts DDP? If so, how does it work? Will husband be miserable? I have never been to tea.....

Thanks for your help.

No, the Dining Plan does not cover the Gardenview Tea. However, I believe that it's more than worth the price! If your DH doesn't mind a nice relaxing time to sit back and converse and enjoy a few (http://BenEllen.smugmug.com/photos/208661454_4maiZ-XL.jpg) treats (http://BenEllen.smugmug.com/photos/208661484_qvZqn-XL.jpg) in a lovely room (http://BenEllen.smugmug.com/photos/210692124_gmXZC-XL.jpg) (notice all the guys?) with you while he's at it, he should be just fine and maybe even actually enjoy the experience!

You can read more about it here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/gftea.asp) on InfoCentral.

I'm in that picture, and I had an amazing time at the tea. Like your husband, I was very reluctant to attend, only agreeing after Cher (TheSorcererofFantasia) agreed to pay my tab. Shockingly, I had a blast, and it is now one of my favorite treats. It's one of Disney's true hidden gems.

Even if your husband does not care about the setting and atmosphere, the food quality alone should keep him interested. Definitely try the trifle, which is worth the price of the entire experience.

Ooooooh, ElentiaB thanks for posting those scrumpubleeishious looking nibblies. I made a ressie for the GF tea for our next trip and am very excited.

I can see why it wouldn't be on the DDP since it's more of a big snack than a meal. An ADR still needs to be made however ( I didn't realize this until a few weeks ago myself...duh! )

Pinkies out, elbows up! *sip sip sip*

Wow I am hoping to convince my DH that real men do in fact "do tea" and I think that by showing him your scrumpcious photos I may be able to convince him. I will lead him by his sweet tooth.;)

My DH absolutely loves tea at the Grand Floridian. As I am the trip planner/reservation maker the first thing he always asks for is that I make sure to plan the tea at the GF. We always get enough to more than fill us up and it replaces lunch. I do wish it was on the DDP but my guess is as it seems to fill up without being on the plan we won't see this happen. BTW, you really do need to make sure you have an ADR here as the room is small and the time frame is limited.

1) I like to do an Afternoon Tea.
2) We usually get around to a Tea once a month.
3) We try to do the GF Tea once per year.
4) Afternoon Tea is the one refinement the English gave to the world.
