I usually go to WDW 4 times a year and I haven't seen it since 1994.

Personally I haven't seen the Country Bears since the mid '80's, every time we have been in MK lately we have skipped it due to time constraints :(. But my family loves the talking moose and buffalo and other animtronic animals at Bugaboo Creek restaurants and I have used them to get the kids excited about seeing the Talking heads in the lobby of Bear Hall. I'm excited to see the Country Bears again because I will get to watch my children enjoy them for the first time.:paw:

not years, only months since our last visit, I do agree with the folks who say it needs some refreshing thou...maybe something along the line of the HipHopStreet Bear Rap-Fest (Please throw no stones I'm only kidding):mickey:

I would have to say it has been at least 15 years or more since I have seen this show. It isn't one of our must see attractions, and typically our trips are only a few days in length, so it is one that we can skip without feeling bad about it.

We go the Jamboree every trip. Actually, we do enough days at the MK to do EVERYTHING, every trip! Love the Magic Kingdom!

Last trip. It is a Disney Classic but it needs a sound rehab. Its difficult for most people to make out what's going on. When the sound system was more intelligible people seemed to get into the show more.

We saw it two weeks ago. I realize it's not among the greatest WDW attractions, and I certainly wouldn't be upset if we were to skip it, but it is a nice place to sit down and cool off while watching a decent show. At least it's not as annoying as the updated Tiki Room.

It's one of the few things that I have never seen at WDW. I keep thinking I will get to it, and then I repeat Thunder Mountain instead.

It's been just under 2 yrs for us-we've gone every visit! We were trying to skip it next trip, but DD brought it up last week (out of the blue!), so we can't disappoint her. But that's okay-I like the show, and there's A/C-always a good thing in Aug!

I saw it 6 months ago. We try to see it at least once during each of our visits. I was kind of disappointed because I really wanted my DD's to get a chance to see the holiday version of it. But they enjoyed the regular version of it anyway.

I have NEVER seen Country Bears! I know, I know... I have no excuses or reason, I just never saw it in all the 35 trips, but I am planning on fixing this in Sept when DW and I fly out for our magical gatherings trip.

So before all of you Country Bears fans persecute me, know that I am flying all the way from New Zealand now just to see the show... there... does that make it all better?

I saw the Christmas version the last time they ran it in 2005 I think it was? That was very fun. However I don't think I've ever seen the original. If I did it was when I was 9, and I don't remember. I really have no interest though. I've heard all of the music and seen some video and it's just not my thing. I like the characters but if I can't get into the music, I'm not going to sit through it. No offense to those who like it! I know I'm a huge Carousel of Progress fan yet there are many that think it's a snoozer. To each his own.

We usually see it once a trip...so June '07 was our last.....

....actually, it was very sad....there were harldy any people in there and our two oldest layed out on the bench and went to sleep....they're 16 n 12....they said they were bored.....

.....now if it had been busy, or more coming in I wouldn't have allowed that, just so you'd know....we're not seat hogs....

I took DH to see this in March of 07. The last time that I had seen it was in 1981 (when I was 3.) Well... we were kind of disappointed with the show. DH actually wanted to get up and leave but it was the middle of peak season and the theater was packed so we couldn't get out without causing a major disturbance. I'm not sure if it was a one time thing but the audio and animatronics seemed to be very out of sync with each other. And some of the bears needed to be vacuumed/groomed. When we returned in October and DH was getting on my nerves I'd threaten to take him to the Country Bears!

We last went during our June '97 trip. It was just DH and I for our last two trips, and it's not his thing. Now that we have our DS and other little ones coming along on our December trip, we'll be sure to stop in. I'm sure that they'll like it.

It has been at least 3 years. It is one of those shows that is “been there, done that”. It is a nice place to cool off and take a load off of your feet, but we do not make it a must for any trip.

I saw it a little over 5 months ago on my last trip to the world. Granted it's not as funny or engaging as it was on my first trip there almost 15 years ago i think, but it's a good way to escape either the heat/rain.

It's not really a "must do" when we're in the park, but it's classic Disney country *cheese* ;) To me, I think it's better'n PhilharMagic...what can I say...I'm the epitome' of a Florida southern boy ;)

Lil' bit o' CBJ history:

The show was originally designed for Walt Disney's planned ski resort in Mineral King, CA. When those plans fell through (for the ski resort), the entire CBJ show had already been developed. At the time, Walt was also working on his "Florida project", and Frontierland did not yet have a signature attraction. It was decided then and there that they would put CBJ into the Florida park. The only other attraction for Frontierland at the 1971 opening of the park was the Davy Crockett canoes. Even the original Frontierland train station wasn't ready to open with the park, so you HAD to make a complete round trip in those "early days" of WDW (the ToonTown station wouldn't open until 1988, and the current Frontierland station opened with Splash Mountain in 1992). So, if you went to the park in the "early years", Frontierland basically ended at CBJ, although Pecos Bill's was there as well (then known as the Mile Long Bar). Buff, Max, and Melvin also made an appearance in the MLB as guests exited the Jamboree into the restaurant.

There are/were 23 characters and animatronics in CBJ:
Henry I, II, and III
Gomer
Wendell
Trixie
Liver Lips McGraw
Ernest the Dude
Big Al
Teddie Berra
Shaker
Max
Melvin
Buff
Sammy the raccoon
The Five Bear Rugs: Zeke, Zeb, Ted, Fred, and Tennessee
Oscar and Mayer
Rufus (used only in the Christmas show)

There have been three incarnations of CBJ's show: the "normal" (current) show; the Vacation Hoedown which ran from about 1985 I believe, to 1992 during the summer months; and the Christmas show, which ended its seasonal showings two years ago (and I found out why ;) PM me...). Disneyland had CBJ for a time, until the show ended there and it was converted into a Winnie the Pooh ride/attraction. So we still have the "one and only OO-riginal Country Bear Jamboree" right here in WDW's Magic Kingdom ;)

To me a visit to the MK is incomplete without a visit to the CBJ. It is good old fashioned entertainment. I am right there with you Main St Jim....I'll take CBJ over Philharmagic any day. And this is coming from a Philly city boy! Thanks for the history lesson too! Maybe folks will have more of an appreciation for it now. :mickey:

I have seen it twice. The first time was the last time the Christmas show ran. Then we saw the regular show on our next trip. I personally can't stand it...I think that it's painful beyond belief. However, that is more because the audio is awful than the animatronics. They do need a complete audio system refurb.

This is an attraction which is as much fun as the crowd wants it to be. When the audience is having a really good time clapping, stomping and singing along this is a top notch show. I've been at times when the crowd is rather sparse and it is not nearly as much fun.

Also, that was right about the time where I noticed that the words the bears were saying were backwards on a tiny screen behind me... That was a weird discovery. This is the screen for the hearing-impaired (closed captioning). These guests will receive a clear screen on a stand to place in front of them sitting in the front row, and then the words will appear correctly when viewed using this "device". Next time you go into the show, look down in the front corner, in the very left (where you enter the theater for the very first row); you'll see the stands.

My DH and I just saw it in March. It is a little dated-needs some pixie dust to make it sparkle-but absolutely a must see if you haven't seen it in awhile.

One of the reasons we went in March was b/c I was concerned that it would be closed the next time we made it back-since it does need some tlc, when we return in Sept we will see it again just for that reason-you never know!:cap:
