June 8, 1902 – Elias and Flora Disney had their son Walter baptized at the St. Paul Congregational Church in Chicago, Il,
June 8, 1917 – Walt Disney graduated from the 8th grade from Benton School.
June 8, 1925 – Actor Charles Tyner, who portrayed Merle in Disney’s 1977 “Pete’s Dragon,” was born in Danville, Va.
June 8, 1927 – Legendary funny man (and half the comedy team of Stiller & Meara) Jerry Stiller, was born in N.Y.C. His Disney voice credits include “The Lion King 1 ½” (as Uncle Max) and “Teacher’s Pet” (as Pretty Boy). (TV fans know him best from his roles on Seinfeld and the King of Queens.)
June 8, 1944 – Original Mouseketeer Don Grady, born Don Agrati, a member of TV’s “The Mickey Mouse Club” in 1957, was born in San Francisco, Ca.
June 8, 1951 – The Donald Duck cartoon “Test Pilot Donald” was released.
June 8, 1956 – The Disney film “The Great Locomotive Chase” was released.
June 8, 1962 – McDonnell Douglas became the official sponsor of the “Rocket to the Moon” attractions in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.
June 8, 1984 – Donald Duck and Clarence Nash (the voice of Donald Duck) hosted the opening of a Donald Duck film festival in N.Y. The festival was in celebration of 50 years since Donald’s film debut.
June 8, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired the episode of MMC. “Today is Party Day!”
