eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehah. And here we are. It's anytown USA and we're starting to pull out the bunting and spruce up the picket fence. Can this yackety crowd keep this thread until July 4th? :rotfl: :funny: , I love to make a good joke. But we'll try anyway.

I just got done with a little sprucing in the back yard. We get more leaf fall here in the spring than we do in the fall, but I think the worst of it is over now.

Are we ready for the weekend? I know Jasper is. What else is going on?

Geesh, Ken, I was about to post to the last thread and here you went and close it.

When I saw can we make to the 4th, I was thinking , June 4th, yeah we might be able to make it to then!!!! :D

I don't post much so my goal is to just get to 100 by the end of the year:D Can I borrow a few posts from anyone?:D

Tina, if you hang out with this crowd long enough, you'll have enough post by the end of the month!!!!

Hmmm.. with the cost of gas these days do you think we should switch to a horse drawn wagon?

Di, are you trying to give Ken ideas? If you don't watch out he'll have us all wearing those pioneer dresses.

I'll get the chocolate ravioli recipe on the cooking thread later tonight or tomorrow. I'm in the mood to cook (which in this house is a rarity). I'm making potato salad and macaroni salad, and debating if I want to make something else.

Just adding this back in on the planning front, in case you guys missed my comment on the other page -- and maybe I'm wrong -- but I thought I'd read somewhere that Pop Warner reserves DHS on the Friday night they are at WDW... that would be the Friday night you guys are talking about doing the Osborne lights. Just wanted to put that back out there so you guys could check into it...

Eek, if that is the case then we are going to have to revise our entire itinerary. Thanks for the heads up Blythe, I would hate to have it all set in stone and then have Disney or Pop Warner have DHS closed for us.

Anywho, I'm ready for the holiday weekend too. I have Sunday off which normally doesn't happen on a holiday, but I'll take it no problem. Looks like we will have a nice weekend around these parts, maybe some storms on Monday. We are actually grilling, if you can call using a George Foreman grill on Monday at work for hamburgers. Since we are stuck at work, why not have some comfort food.

Anything else that I missed?

Guys , Did we leave few lists back at the old thread?

I looked for them, but I need to go to bed now. I went to the Dr and I 'm feeling very sleepy, cause of some meds.

but, b4 I go ::party:Happy Birthday, Harry!:party:

I'm going to quote myself because Blythe really has me thinking about the Lights. I checked the Archive dates for December 2007, 2006 & 2005. For 2005 & 2006 it is indeed a Friday where they close at 7pm, but last year unless it's a typo they closed at 7pm on Wednesday. Do you think that is right? The other days DHS closes at 8pm. When does the December hours come out? In June right?

WOO HOO made it!!

We have to make it until July 4th? Not gonna happen. What's the limit on a thread?

So what's for dinner? I'm making a meatball pizza calzone type thing. Looks and smells good, can't wait. Hope you all have a great evening, I'll try to check in later before I hit the sack.

4th of July?? Maybe 4th of June the way things have been going... :D

We're not doing too much... yard work, I've got a wedding shower to go to on Saturday and I'm working Sat/Sun nights. But friends are coming over to bbq/picnic with us on Monday, so that'll be fun!!

I'm headed in for OT tonight... gotta love the rain! Lotsa, lotsa babies!

What about just flip-flopping the days - doing CP on Saturday am with DHS Saturday eve at DHS, and doing the mini golf on Friday am - with a possible dinner that evening?
That way those that are going to MVMCP on Thursday evening wouldn't have to get up so early to make the first seating at CP. Just a thought.

Its been a rough week at work. Think good thoughts that things go better tomorrow....and next week....

Not a bad idea! I'm on my way to work, so I'll think about it and see how it matches in with our schedule - what does everyone else think? (Are we the only ones doing MVMCP Thurs night?) Good thinking, T&G!

Here's hoping tomorrow will be a better day for you... sending some :pixie: your way! Maybe I'll catch you later from babyland...

Friday: Breakfast at CP / works for us but if we're going to reserve as a group, it will have to be within the first 40 minutes they are open... which also works for us.

Friday evening: Osborne Lights

Saturday: 11:00 AM Mini Golf w/ pint to follow / could that be a bit earlier?? Like 10:00 am? Also, pints aren't exactly kid-friendly but don't let us hold you back

Saturday evening: Dinner / may I suggest dinner someplace at EPCOT (but not China or Morocco), how about Garden Grill so we can get a character meal together? That way we can go see IllumiNations together (the holiday version is wonderful).

Hey..... we love the Garden Grill and staying for IllumiNations together sounds great !

Hi all, I figured the new laptop should geert used Sat or Friday am for CP works for us, I'm fairly sure talking DH into Garden Grill may not work for me as the menu doesn't really work for him.

Did anyone see Grey's? Happy B-Day Harry double digits sure is fun isn't it Jenn? And happy milestones to Deb & Pogo.

Is there coffee left? Did the comic have shoes or just called shoes?

I think Mary said she was doing MVMCP on Thursday. As for us - we have no confirmed anything yet - so who knows.
Has everyone else already bought their air tickets before the prices go through the roof from the fuel cost?

Pogo - you really cheered me up this evening - thanks! :)

I didn't know that potato salad would get your attention, Ken!!!* What about cookies?Oh man, pair potato salad (at least the way DW makes it) with tollhouse cookies and I'm a happy boy.
* Did the comic have shoes or just called shoes?Actually the comic is called 'Shoe'* (I believe it was named after a newspaper editor named Shoemaker, who retired to a town near where I am but who died a couple of years ago).* The character in the strip is reading about a sports team called the Possums that does really well at home but "gets killed on the road".* Anybody else think we should bronze that one for Alex?

Emily and Rhonda, I've added the recipe to the cooking thread.!!

Thanks! It sounds delicious! And, so many variations too!

Flu seems to have left our home -- and yesterday my firstborn turned the big 1-0! He's such a terrific kid!

Congrats on the flu moving out, and Happy Birthday Harry! Hope you had a great 10th birthday!

Friday: Breakfast at CP.

Friday evening: Osbourne Lights

Saturday: 11:00 AM Mini Golf w/ pint to follow.

Saturday evening: Dinner

As I said last night, we're pretty flexible, so this or the flip would work for us.

Rhonda and Robert are picky...so do you 2 have any specific suggestions?

Nope. We like 'Ohana although we did have very bad service there last year and we weren't planning to go this year, but we would go with others if that's what we decide.

(Anyone know a good counter fitter?)

Have you asked at Home Depot or Lowe's? ;)

I stopped looking at the fireworks cruises because I was under the impression that people thought they were too $$$. BTW, you don't need to be a GG group to book one. However, GG does have other perks that we might want to look at (like a site for group planning). Question in case someone knows the answer off-hand, are DVC reservations included in the count?

I don't know if DVC is included in the count or not. The 2 of us would likely be interested in the fireworks cruise if we get enough people. I've always wanted to do one, but it's pretty pricey for just the 2 of us. My only concern is that it would be cold on the water.

When does the December hours come out? In June right?

Well, that's up for a little debate since they haven't released the November hours yet.

Hi all, I figured the new laptop should geert used Sat or Friday am for CP works for us, I'm fairly sure talking DH into Garden Grill may not work for me as the menu doesn't really work for him.

Okay, it took me quite awhile to figure out that sentence... but I think I finally got it! :D

We haven't been to the Garden Grill, I don't think... I don't remember it being a character meal, if we had... but it would've been ages ago, too.

As for us - we have no confirmed anything yet - so who knows.
Has everyone else already bought their air tickets before the prices go through the roof from the fuel cost?

And why not??? It'd be so great to see you!

Yup - bought 'em last week. Now I just need to get my ticket for January before they keep going up...

Who wants to go to work for me tomorrow? I promise I'll take one of your days for you another time!
Honest?? You've got yourself a deal! :D

So - it's pretty busy here - but we've got lots of extra staff, so even though there's tons of pts and babies, tha actual workload isn't bad. And because they brought some folks in for "enhanced pay" (time and 3/4), that means those of us that were OT get it, too! Not bad!

So, since you're all probably asleep, I'll keep the fires burning... and I'll have some fresh coffee on for you in the AM. Sleep well, all!!

Good morning JQ'ers the coffee is on as well as the hot water for tea and hot chocolate. And of course your choice of juices. Along with sodas of your choice. Some what moved into the new place and have relatives coming down from northern Fla for the weekend.
There's always coffee and hot water at the ready for those who are in need for the hot or cold kind.
It's already hitting the 90 degree mark down here can you believe it? I think we should have waited to move in until we had our "weekend again so this way there would be no confusion where the light switch is or where the glasses are and such like that. So Ken have you checked out the new virtual site that just opened yesterday? I didn't see anyone on there at all. I did see that the chat bar was active last night but that was it. I know new game which is in beta testing so a lot of bugs to iron out. Well anyway start time for me today is 7:45 instead of 6. From the sounds of it after the first of next month I'll just be working wipedown on the weekends just I actually wanted to do all along. Let's see how long this guy lasts doing the early morning weekday wipedown. I want to believe he'll tough it out. I'll find out on Sunday what my work week will look like. There will be a change in my weekend off. I'm going from having Wednesday and Thursday off to having Thursday and Friday off. Oh well I can handle that eh? :D
Have a magical day folks

You know Ken.. if you harness the chattiness on this thread maybe you could find a way to turn it into an alternative fuel...

We just brought in this new potato salad at my work place - it's a Loaded Baked Potato Salad. Talk about your tongue smacking your brains out! Want me to buy a tub of it for you?

Hi! Welcome back!

I wish there was a living history place that I could work at. I remember visiting Plymouth Plantation as a young girl and I was facinated. Those 'actors' would not break character for anything! I just think that time was so much more simple... yeah, harder I'm sure.. but simpler too!

That's too funny about your boss. I live in Ohio and had actually never heard that saying before either until meeting my husband (whose family is from Kentucky)... it's one of his favorite sayings.

I love the Narnia books also and watch the first movie almost constantly! I'm dying to see Prince Caspian.. just need to find someone to go with me as my husband is not into "fantasy".. hmmm... wonder if there's a way I can 'talk him into' going with me? Any ideas? ;)

I know Mary will agree with me, but what's a Friday when you work in retail? It would be nice if you could actually have 2 days off in a row!!! After saying that I'm getting a 4 day weekend from May 30-June 2!!!:D That's because I have my recital on the 31(and I want the day before off to practice, practice, practice) and the builder is coming on June 2 to fix something on the house!!!

The past 2 weeks at Disney, with a weekend in between for a VERY emotionally and physically DRAINING graduation weekend has left me VERY tired...lol. I will post trip reports in the near future, and will be HAPPY to delve into my last two weeks for you guys once I get back online tonite.

Anyone else enjoying this amazing weather?

I wish there was a living history place that I could work at. I remember visiting Plymouth Plantation as a young girl and I was facinated. Those 'actors' would not break character for anything! I just think that time was so much more simple... yeah, harder I'm sure.. but simpler too!

I can guarantee you that while those times may have been simpler they were definitely harder!! My daughter is in her fourth summer working as an interpreter for the National Park Service at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial here in southern Indiana. (Many people don't realize that Indiana is the place where he grew up. In fact, all of the stories about him learning to read by fire light, taking the books back in the rain, learning to split rails, etc. all happened here in Indiana.)

In addition to a museum they also have a living farm that is located on the site of Lincoln's boyhood farm. While the interpreters here don't do characters, they do wear period clothing and operate the farm as it would have been done in the American west in the first two decades of the 1800's.

During the time she has worked there she has learned to do everything from cook over the fire, to spinning wool, to weaving cloth, and even to shearing the sheep, and plowing the fields with a team of horses. Needless to say when it is 95 degrees and 99% humidity and she has to get the team out to plow or mow hay or what ever she comes home and collapses at the end of the day! But she still loves it so much that she wants to make a career out of it!

Everybody got their engines revved for FRIDAY?

Don't you know that revving your engine is a waste of gas? Drummerboy Discount everything must be making good money for you to be able to rev up your engine! :D

After saying that I'm getting a 4 day weekend from May 30-June 2!!! That's because I have my recital on the 31(and I want the day before off to practice, practice, practice) and the builder is coming on June 2 to fix something on the house!!!

ENjoy your 4 day weekend! Good luck on the recital!

You do know that they used my body and digitally added the other guys head?:D (If you believe that then I have some prime land in Florida to sell you!)

You're selling a DVC?!!! :D:D How much?!!!

Yeah, it's at the new resort in the middle of the swamp! I am asking a million dollars for it but for you I would sacrifice and sell it for only $750,000.00! Are you still interested?

If Prince Caspian is the butler at said dvc/land/house then I'll take it! :D

Bet they didn't have obesity problems back then! Still sounds like a good, simple life. Kept people honest! Too much work to do and too tired after doing all the work to stir up much trouble! yep! Them was the good ole days!

You're probably correct about the obesity thing but when you start reading all the history of that time period you would be absolutely shocked at the number of alcohol fueled incidents that happened back then. And I am not just talking about fist fights but knifings and even murders! There is even one unconfirmed story of Abraham Lincoln witnessing a man get killed during a brawl at a wedding when some folks got themselves tanked up. still think them was the good ole days? I think that there were certain things that may have been better but unfortunately there were bad people around even then!

Knock, Knock, Knock (on the computer screen)

So did everyone leave early for the Holiday weekend? Why oh why did I let my wife talk me into watching her store this afternoon? This is the official beginning of our slow period anyway but all four of the high schools in our county have graduation tonight for the seniors and all the younger pups got out of school for the year at 11:30 this morning. That means I have had one person in the store since I arrived at noon today. And now, it appears that all of my JQ buddies have gone home early as well.

(Deep sigh) oh well, I guess I will go back to trying to sleep sitting up while looking like I am actually doing something at the computer just in case someone walks in! So do any of our friends from outside the U.S. celebrate any kind of Memorial Day for fallen soldiers this next Monday?

We're off to see Indy tonight for Harry's B-Day. Can't wait! Anyone want to come with us? The show is at 6:50.
 I would have if I'd read this sooner.

That would be cool! I've always wished I could go back in time and be a pioneer/frontier wife.
Ah yes ! The time when men were men.... and women were men ! :D

Well it's about time you returned ! I missed you ! :D

Everybody got their engines revved for FRIDAY?
Yesterday was my Friday. I had to take today off because I have to work next Tuesday ! ;)

I know Mary will agree with me, but what's a Friday when you work in retail? It would be nice if you could actually have 2 days off in a row!!! Anyone else enjoying this amazing weather?
Welcome home!! Looking forward to hearing about what happened at Disney...

Amazing weather?? What amazing weather? You mean the 40 degree rainy, cold, wet, gray blech that's been hanging around my house all week?? That amazing weather??? :rain:

I can guarantee you that while those times may have been simpler they were definitely harder!! My daughter is in her fourth summer working as an interpreter for the National Park Service at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial here in southern Indiana.

Jasper, that is soooo cool... I've often wished I'd had the chance to do something like that. Dan just about laughs himself to death when I tell him I wish I'd lived back in the colonial days, out on the prairies... of course, I grew up with "Little House...", so it's romanticized... but still, all those simple things (and difficult things) were so amazing to me, that folks could live and prosper like that... and yes, could live so simply... I find it amazing. That's so cool your DD does that!

(We're planning to take the girls to Colonial Williamsburg next summer... I CAN'T wait!! :cloud9:)

So - how is Friday treating you all?? Since it is FINALLY sunny outside, I'm going to go out and do a little gardening... the weeds have exploded in all the rain we've had. Wish me luck in the battle!! :thedolls:

Oh no, no, no, no. We're revving our virtual neutron electro-engines. No gas, no pollution, warp speed.

still think them was the good ole days? I think that there were certain things that may have been better but unfortunately there were bad people around even then!
And on top of that, they didn't have showers! And somebody always had to empty and clean the chamber pots. eeeeew.

I think I'll pass on that one, because I have a feeling it's not on Disney property. Did you buy it from Drummerboy's Discount Property Management?
Hey hey. DDPM has only the finest real estate in inventory. Our swamps are pure primordial, guaranteed to contain fossils (all right Pogo, no cracks about them finding me. :nono: :D).

Greg, Page, good to see you again.

Didn't you know, when Walt was secretly buying property near Orlando for Walt Disney World he was also buying property in the swamps further south for what he thought would be the first Disney Seas that ended up going in Japan instead? So since they are no longer putting in the Disney Seas project they are selling off the swamps as a super secret, super exclusive DVC property! At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!:D:D

She really does love what she is doing. And it is actually fun for me as well because occasionally when I am feeling good enough I will go sit in the cabin with her and work on weaving baskets or spinning wool into thread for her.

Have you ever heard of the back door method for weed control? The back door method is where you come and go from your house by the back door rather than the front door so you don't have to look at the weeds!:D

Ok, I'm still not sure we can make it but just in case I booked a room at SSR Dec 11 - 18th. We're wait listed for BC & AKV. There are apparently lots of DVC members coming to Disney that week.

Phone Number Alert: My cell phone passed away the other day. I don't have anyone's phone number anymore. If you guys think of it, send me a PM with your numbers so I can send you texts at 4am when I'm bored.

Can I slap Pogo? Smack him on the back of the head like Gibbs does to Dinozzo and McGee on NCIS.

It's was stuff that was wrong with the house when we moved in that still needed to be done on our 30 day list. One person said it could wait until the house settled more--the one year mark--and the customer service rep said it was a bowed stud...and no not from the belly dancing...it was that way when we moved in!!!

So - it's pretty busy here - but we've got lots of extra staff, so even though there's tons of pts and babies, tha actual workload isn't bad. And because they brought some folks in for "enhanced pay" (time and 3/4), that means those of us that were OT get it, too! Not bad!

Hmmm. When we do get overtime (rarely, since I'm salary) its time and a 1/2 - based on a LOWER graded level. Bottom line? The overtime pay is LESS per hour than my normal pay! Work extra time = make less

How about Coral Reef?
Yummmmm. I'm game for O'hanas too - which could be nice in the big open seating area.

Never smoked it ! Is it any good ?? :D

:shake: Pogo - are you trying to ruin your image? (oh wait, thats assuming way too much).:D

Ditto. And to think a week ago today, it was 97 degrees! Now its 48. I had to turn the heat back on in the house!

Welcome back Di! We missed you!

Pogo - sorry I missed your call - some of us actually had to do some work today! :D How was the golf?

Today wasn't as bad as I expected (course the boss was gone, so that helped ). I can't say that it will be the same next week.

So how many people are heading to see a movie this weekend? We hope to - not sure which one yet..too many choices!!

Now that just doesn't seem right! Sounds like something they'd pull around here. Their favorite "hidden" cost saver here? To take the night shift's differential out of your overtime pay, make it it's own separate entity, so you only get time and a half on your base salary, not your base plus your shift differential, which in our thinking, if you are hired for an off-shift, your differential should be considered as part of your complete pay - not a separate pay scale! So every time I work OT or EP or get holiday pay, I lose quite a bit of what I should be making because suddenly I become a base salary person who happens to get night shift differential added on separately, instead of a hired night shift nurse. We've tried to fight it, and are hoping to be able to bring it up the next time the union contract goes up for vote.

Anyway - that's my vent for now... I'm always reminded of it on a holiday or after I work OT... :(

What's everyone up to tonight? I'm about to put Julia to bed, Emma went down about a half hour ago... time for a little relaxing!

Greg, I was actually wondering where and how you were today. Glad to see you reporting back in.

T&G, sorry you had a rough week at work. Aren't you glad it's over? Mine was no picnic either... thanks in large part to the people who have been assigned to "help" us on a project.

Sandy, aren't you coming North soon?

Deb, here's some lottery :pixie:

Glad to see you back, Page. Would you like a nice cup of mangosteen green tea (very yummy)?

What about just flip-flopping the days - doing CP on Saturday am with DHS Saturday eve at DHS, and doing the mini golf on Friday am - with a possible dinner that evening?
Friday will be our first day down at WDW. We'd pass on mini-golf in that case as I really would prefer to go to a park. How about we flip-flop the evening activities instead?

I'm not sure about the food, but Spoodles has a great big table that would handle a lot of us. Just how big is our party anyway?

So how many people are heading to see a movie this weekend? We hope to - not sure which one yet..too many choices!!
We saw Indiana Jones this afternoon. It was GREAT! There are a lot of good movies out right now that DS wants to see: Iron Man, Speed Racer, Prince Caspian. Do you know that I paid $11 for two Cokes today at the movie theatre? :faint: I'm so glad I brought out popcorn from home.

Many people don't realize that Indiana is the place where he grew up. In fact, all of the stories about him learning to read by fire light, taking the books back in the rain, learning to split rails, etc. all happened here in Indiana.

And what do you people have against fake bananas anyway?

Carol - whats the name of the wine you had this evening? We may head to the wineries this weekend, as they have an open winery event (only twice a year), where they have complete tours of everything, wine tasting, etc. Sounds like fun!

It was Benton Lane. For a pinot gris it had a nice smoky flavor and the finish was almost like a reisling.

Ellen..... I'm worried about you.......... are you related to Caroleh ???? :D

Are you more afraid that she's my sis or Ellen being your sis2 making me your sis3? :D

And what do you people have against fake bananas anyway?

They are really hard to peel and they don't have the same flavor and texture. They also don't stand up too well in banana bread and banana cream pie.:D

Actually, I am ready for a change, and its an area I would enjoy. More satisfaction?, more pay? More benefits? Same. More perks? more time with family? :shake:
Then it comes down to family. If you don't think your family will suffer for it, I say go for it !

Why yes I can! I can even put my hands flat on the floor in front of my toes - and no, I don't have to bend my knees to accomplish this!
Will you show us this flexibility in December ???

Now that is a scary thought, for sure. :D

Good Morning!
I've been a bit under the weather with bronchitis.
I haven't the enegy to go back and see what ya'll have planned for December. I read something about flip flopping days. Could someone catch me up to speed on the planning phases? Thanks and have a lovely day.:mickey:

I went back into the old thread and found this:

Okay, I'm beginning to think this thread may break records for how fast we have to move the RV....

We may head to the wineries this weekend, as they have an open winery event (only twice a year), where they have complete tours of everything, wine tasting, etc. Sounds like fun!
Now that sounds like a great day!! Can we come???

Would you like a nice cup of mangosteen green tea (very yummy)?

I sure wish they'd come out with the December calendar already. With this being the only trip left on my horizon right now, I'm getting to feel the need to start PLANNING.

Bethany is coming over tomorrow to scrapbook but I think I may try to talk her into going to play mini-golf. Would that be mean??
What, exactly, is mangosteen green tea???

Ditto.... I'm getting anxious that the delay w/ the November hours will push ours out well into June... not good for this OCD NY planner....

Nope, not at all!! If your weather is going to be as nice as ours, (finally!!), I say go for it! :golf: Dan's out on the course right now!!

Have you considered sleeping at 4am as a cure for your boredom?

I get nothing for working overtime. No straight time, no time and half, no comp time, no appreciation, nothing. And we are expected to work it whenever necessary (like this weekend).

Jym??? 4am -- sleep??? :faint:

That doesn't quite sound fair... how do they get away with justifying not paying you if you're there?

In all honesty, the thought never crossed my mind.

And what do you people have against fake bananas anyway?
That's been clear for awhile...

Ummmm... besides the fact that they taste a little flat, mash poorly and make lousy shakes.... everything!! Plastic fruit is so yesterday! (Unless it's on a Hawaiian party hat... and you're in the middle of a luau.... with a few too many Hurricanes on board... then, perfectly acceptable... and NO, I don't speak from experience.... )

Good Morning!
I've been a bit under the weather with bronchitis.

Hi Deb! I"m sorry to hear you're not feeling well... I hope the fact that you're back on the boards means you're feeling a bit better! Sending some :pixie: your way for a speedy recovery!!

What's everyone else got planned for today? I've got a wedding shower this afternoon and work this evening... other than that, just some yard work and stuff here at home. With all the rain we've had, we're in sore need of some serious gardening/weeding/mowing/mulching... you name it! Anybody wanna come help??? :D

My Dad used that story for years - until it dawned on me when we went to visit grandma, that they lived across the street from the school! :funny:

I'm sure you won't be bored at 4am in a few months! :baby:

That would be too far down the valley for us this weekend. I will have to buy a bottle and try it.

Then it comes down to family. If you don't think your family will suffer for it, I say go for it !

DH is supportive. He doesn't seem concerned about the travel - he says we will figure it out. Also, its a temporary 1 year (that can extend to 5 years, or become permanent), so if its not working out, I can step back. The competition for a position like this is EXTREME, so not thinking its great odds, but hey, its worth a try. Besides, I have pixie dust on my side, right?

We had a fun and interesting morning. We went to a winemaking shop, and got all the stuff we need to try it on our own!! :wine: We are set to make an Australian Reisling. We have tasted the wines that my friend has made and they are VERY good. Should be lots of fun - and hopefully a good result at the end. Wish us luck!!
How's everyone else's Saturday going?

So - would you like my address? Dan and I would be more than willing to give you guys our "professional" opinion...

Our Saturday was good, just QUICK!! With Dan out golfing all morning and then my being gone for the shower, by the time we started working together outside it was after 4:30. But, I got 12 more bags of mulch down... and Dan's off to the store for more tomorrow!! :eyes:

Shhh... don't tell!! :D

I hope you're all having a nice evening... I have to admit -- although I never mind coming in to work, tonight and tomorrow I'd rather be home. It's just such a nice weekend weather-wise, and knowing Dan & the girls will be home on Monday -- it'd be nice to just relax all wknd with them. But... I'll get my chance another wknd., I'm sure!!

I need to buy the TylenolPM and I'm not sure if you can get it up here. If I count possums I might start imanging those as possums as Jym and Pogo, then that would fighten the heck out of me and I couldn't sleep because of the nightmares!!!!:D

The sleep issue has a lot to do with Gilles snoring. When we moved we got rid of the sectional that I use to sleep on. It was really broken in but the new one isn't comfortable to sleep on. We couldn't get the boxsprings for the double bed up our stairs so the spare bedroom isn't set up yet. Tomorrow we're heading to IKEA to get these slats things that you use instead of a box springs, so as soon as I get that put together I'll start sleeping on the spare bed and maybe I can start sleeping.

It's more likely you would be counting possums and all of a sudden Pogo and Jym will come tearing into your possum vision driving a large off road vehicle and they will start running over your possums left and right.. thus scaring the heck out of you that way... besides.. the fumes from said off road vehicle would probably make you nauseated so that would make it even more difficult to sleep... so yep.. you might just wanna try finding some Tylenol PM...

Have you tried those nasal stips on Gilles? The ones that you wear on your nose and they help you breath so you don't snore? I had Mike use them before and they really do work!

Yes! Please do ask your friend and let me know what she says. Deb can't get any doct to test her for it.. they keep trying to tell her it's just IBS. She's talking about self treating. I guess there's some herbs or something she can take. She's also talking about trying an elimination diet to see if it's a food allergy of some sort.

Welp.. I think I'll head on to bed. If I can get dh to turn the tv down enough so I can sleep. Think he'd get upset if I pull the plug on it and also hide the remote?

I hear what you mean, Mike snores like a train sometimes and I have to go sleep on the couch. I would kick him out but the couch is a little small for him and it's easier for me to sleep out there. Plus we have the seven animals and sometimes they all want to be laying on the bed at once which is really uncomfortable.

So what's the plan for tomorrow folks? I'm going for a hike with some of the dogs from the shelter. They like to take the big ones up to the mountains, tire them out, and then take some cool outdoor pictures of them to post on the adoption website. Should be a beautiful day for it.

Have a good night, take care

Would Dan want to join them for a pint? Cause you could join us for some shopping!! :D
How did I not read that?? I'll blame it on the late hour....

I sure hope it works out for you guys!! I've been on the DVC threads and noticed a lot of the folks posting about how busy the first 2 weeks of Dec. are for you guys... must be b/c the points you have to use are the lowest then?? (Yes, we're thinking about it... probably will continue to for a year or two... tell your DH to tell Dan how wonderful it is... oh, wait... you did one of those, "Guess what I bought, honey?", didn't you???)

I bet Dan would LOVE to join them... maybe I could plan something for the girls then and I'd be free and on my own for the shopping!! Whoo hoo... :woohoo: ... Dan would say that's too dangerous...

A mangosteen is a type of fruit... they have dried ones at Trader Joe's. Kind of hard to describe, but good.

Sigh... Ellen, I LOVE Trader Joe's!! We had one in Nashua, when we lived in NH, and I miss it terribly. I always say I want to stop there on our way to or from Maine, but we never do... maybe I'll just have to this year!!

So what's the plan for tomorrow folks? I'm going for a hike with some of the dogs from the shelter. They like to take the big ones up to the mountains, tire them out, and then take some cool outdoor pictures of them to post on the adoption website. Should be a beautiful day for it.

That is SO cool, what you're doing with the dogs!! So very sweet... sounds like a great day.

Me, I'll be sleeping, then cooking for Monday and heading back here to work. :( But - it'll be over quick, the holiday pay will be nice and before I know it, I'll be drinking :marg: on our porch with our friends... can you tell I'm looking forward to it?? :D

Well even though I decided to buy DVC, DH could still sell anyone on it - he approves of the purchase - and wants more point! Actually, we may sell off a small 50 point contract at AKV so we can buy more points when the Grand Californian at DL goes up for sale.
The beginning of December is one of the lowest point times, so thats why it is so busy. If the waitlist doesn't come through, we will have to figure something out.

The movie just got over - we loved it! I need to watch it again, cuz I'm sure I missed parts. Do you think there will be a National Treasure 3?

Well, I'm sure by the time we decide to do it, if we do, we'll wish we'd done it sooner... why does "other stuff" always have to get in the way? Geez, you'd think buying a house could wait...

I didn't know the Grand Calif. at DL was going DVC!! Lucky for you guys! I think one of the major selling points for Dan will be the flexibility to go elsewhere, like Vero or HH... with him into golf as much as he is and as we "get older", it'd be nice to have a beach place to go, as well.

I definitely think there's going to be a NT3!! Didn't you think so, the way they left it?? I sure hope so.... we're hoping for a Bourne 4, too...did you like those movies? (I actually googled the books after the third movie and they said that the 4th is being "negotiated"... I hope it comes together!)

Did you know that DVC is building a resort on Oahu?? Thats another reason we wouldn't mind having more points (especially since its about as close as going to Orlando). Thats our other favorite place (although I would have preferred Maui).
You should think about a resale - then you wouldn't have to fork out so much all at once, but could add on later. Look whose talking.....the one that bought in for the full amount...sight unseen.... Haven't regretted it yet.

Good morning JQ'ers, the coffee/water are on ready for enjoyment. As well as juices sodas and cold water for those who prefer cold beverages instead of hot. Do you suppose that I live in Fla now that I ought to have switched to cold beverages by now? :D
PirateGal and I found out that you have to wait until the last day/night of your vacation to make reservations at a DVC resort. I guess that sort of makes sense but it's something we both will have to get use to.
I think I posted this but we're staying at OKW from the 16th through to the 19th of December? It's not our home resort but we're checking out the different resorts to see how their like. And of course we will have to stay at our home resort one of these stays. :D

Saratoga Springs is not somewhere I would stay at DVC (too close to our home of OKW) but it would be a lot better than a normal hotel room. By all means waitlist but keep that as a fallback position.

I went to play tennis this morning but no-one else turned up. Either they didn't like the weather or they had gone away for the holiday (yes, we have a holiday on Monday too but it is not called memorial day). I stopped off and bought some bedding plants (impatiens) and beetroot on the way home instead. I've never grown beetroot before so that could be fun. That will be my experiment for this year.

Isn't it strange how there are always tons of things that need doing when you get back from a trip?

Church and breakfast and then more work on the resort. We will finish putting in the garden and I've got to mow. Then it's :marg: time !

Did I ever tell you how much we love the Sandia Mtns. ?

At this point we have not booked Saratoga. Mostly because we are borrowing points for the stay - and a couple of our waitlist requests use less points. If the waitlist comes through, we have borrowed points that we would not use - and thus would lose. Decisions...decisions.....

Awe shucks..... I'd be happy to have a pint or two.... but I'm not sure I want you hanging out with Patti ! Do you think I would be a bad influence on her? :D Or maybe you don't want her to reveal your secrets? :secret:

Good luck with the beetroot and so sorry that your tennis partners didn't show. They obviously don't know what they're missing! What holiday is celebrated on Monday? Please educate us.

I had dress rehersal on Friday night, the evening of the 31st is the show. "geeking out" is staying in my pj's all day playing games on the computer. I did some practicing for my recital and my laundry.

Something happened yesterday at work with a couple of my employees and I think it didn't end there. One person was really ticked off that I cancelled her shift(this is a job she doesn't need, she calls it her little job to get out of the house). We made less then $100 from 9:30-11, so I cancelled her 12-6 shift. Now she is refusing to work Saturday's and it was in her employment contract she has to work Saturday's. I'm seriously thinking about looking for a new job after our trip to WDW, because I really don't get paid enough to be putting up with women over 55 years old acting like 2 year olds. Sorry for the rant, this is really stressing me out and getting me depressed..that and I have to be to work tomorrow at 7:30 am because we have workmen coming in. I have 2 hours to myself before we open, so I can get some stuff done.

Anyone want to work for me tomorrow?

Hate to say it, but it doesn't often get that much better elsewhere; icky people show up in about every work environment (even WDW). Try the best you can to concentrate on the green grass where you are.

Hello all!

Blythe, how's the baby business?

I'm dead tired tonight. So I told you all about the "walk" that I was doing with the shelter today. Well, it turned out to be a five mile HIKE with a huge staffordshire bull terrier named Loretta! We actually had a great time but I am so sore and tired. I'm not in that great of shape to be walking all that far, especially with a big huge dog like that. Oh well, at least I don't have to work tomorrow so I can rest (that is if I can get out of bed!)

Tomorrow is game 2 of the stanley cup playoffs, can't wait, wings are up 1-0.

Hope everyone had a great sunday, I'll check in tomorrow. Night Night!

Loretta... what a great name! Esp. for a big dog like that... the name makes me smile. Sorry to hear you're so sore, but I bet that pup is asleep with a big :D on her face!! (Good luck getting out of bed tomorrow....)

DH is a big hockey fan, too, and since his Sabres are out, I believe he's pulling for the Wings, too. What a great time of year to be a sports fan... first he had the Masters, now he's got the SC finals going on... today was Indy... he'll be going through withdrawal soon, though, when it all quiets down... ;)

We had the whole family over today for a cookout. It was great until the rain hit, then we moved it all inside.
Have you ever seen a six year old walk on water? We had a small pool set up in the back yard for the nieces. They were all playing and having a great time, until they heard this loud, raging burst of thunder. My 6 year old niece stood straight up and was out of that pool before the thunder ended. :bolt:It was so hilarious:rotfl:

Happy Monday, everyone!! Our long weekend was last weekend, so it's back to work. I have to be in at 7;30 so the plumber can put in a backflow valve. He's going to have to turn off the water for 2 hours and the main water shutoff valve is in my store. Well it looks like you got a lot of chitter chatter in this weekend....I skimmed a bunch. Hope you're all enjoying your holiday. I bowed my head in honor of everyone as I drove past the WDW exits today....I don't even know how I didn't pull over. How did I do it you ask? I guess I'm just ......

It's back to reality tomorrow....are you ready? I'm not! :(

1. The first time DW and I saw Epcot, we were on the way home from being godparents when some friends' son got baptized somewhere south of Orlando. Epcot was pretty new then and although we had planned on going past, (it was kind of late in the afternoon) we just couldn't resist. By the time we got in, it wasn't that crowded, so we got to see everything by the time it closed. We stayed in a cheapie motel further up the road that night.

2. I won't be getting real until next Monday. I'm off all week goofing (or as Carol says, geeking out). DW and I talked about taking in the new Hard Rock Park down at Myrtle Beach some time this week.

Anybody cooking out? I smell charcoal burning.

You're spending the week in your jammies? Cool!!!!:D

No charcoal here. We don't even a grill yet. We have a friend that keeps promicing to get us one, but we doubt we'll ever see it.

My 2 hours of being in the store went quickly. I cleaned my office, tidied some drapery rods and all the drapery fabric in the store. By the time my staff arrived I was worn out.

Just wanted to check in. How are all the former VMKers handling it?? I still can't believe they actually closed it.

Anybody want some leftover burgers and baked beans?
We had the whole family over today for a cookout.
Hey, Wes! Good to see you here. I'll take a burger! Did you bring cookies?

Anyone coming to enjoy the pool tomorrow? I spent another hour in it this afternoon, and I think that's why I'm so tired now! I was mostly water jogging with a little swimming thrown in.
That sounds wonderful. :cloud9:

Nope...... sorry for the bad employee. I say, tell her if she refuses to work she's done... then hire her replacement !
:exactly:

We saw the Indy flick this morning. We enjoyed it. We try to go to the first show of the day as it's the cheapest ($5 each). Now, if I could only persuade Robert not to get snacks, we'd be good.
I bring our own snacks. It's a good way for me to control how much and what exactly we snack on. Not to mention holding down the expense! We paid $11 for two Cokes the other day. :faint:

One of the things I miss most with apartment living is cooking out during the summer. A grill would have been one of my first purchases.

Glad to hear that today wasn't too bad at the store though. You got so much done. I've only skimmed the surface of everything I wanted to get done today.

And on that note, I'm off to work on org charts.

Almost Ken but not quite had to put the grill together first. And we're thinking of firing up the new grill on one of our days off. So what shall we have then? :D Haven't seen Frankie around here yet anyway. So who knows what kind of :spy: mission frankies been up to, must be deep under cover at a local park or something.

Hey everybody! How was your Monday? Our friends just left a little bit ago, and we pretty much had to roll ourselves off the porch... we had SO much food! And Corona's... and green apple martinis... :D

Now it's time to get the kiddos off to bed so Dan and I can have a few moments to relax a bit more before the work week starts!

I had a blast, ate a ton and parasailing was just like Soarin'.....only a million times better. I was singing the music from it up in the air!!!
That sounds awesome... I'd love to try that someday!! I'd be on my own, or with my DD's, though... Dan's not a "heights" person, and can barely do Soarin'. ;) But the girls would go with me, definitely! :cloud9:

It was going to be one of ours, but this friend keeps promising us one. We had received a free one when I bought my car and since we couldn't have it in the apartment, we gave it to this friend. He kept telling us that when we get a different place, he's give the grill back. We think he got rid of it and is trying to figure out how to get a new one. The thing is, we have no problem getting one, since we know how much space we have on the balcony.

It seems so strange to think of today as Monday as it totally didn't feel like Monday!

Chicken what?

We grilled our homemade veggie-beef burgers and they were delicious! Only problem is that I now have a choice of 1/2 leftover deli turkey sandwich or a veggie-beef burger or a leftover grilled pork chop or some leftover chicken fajitas for lunch tomorrow - so many decisions! ;)

I can't believe its already Monday night. This weekend was exactly what I needed. I'm feeling much more upbeat - even though I know this week will not be a fun one. Ditto!

Spiedies... must be a northern thing.... Basically, it's nothing more than strips of chicken, marinated in "spiedie" sauce (much like an Italian dressing, just heavy on the vinegar and spices) and then skewered and grilled. We marinade them for about 24 hours, so they're SO tender and yummy!! I know they've always got them at our State Fair, not sure where they originated, though...

Dan probably does, too - although he did make me feel his hands, and they were all clammy... testament to the fact that he much have watched some of it... ;)

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend - I hope it carries over into a better week for you! And maybe this week will seem shorter, after all... :fingers:

Okay, I'm off to bed... I didn't get much sleep today, and I'm beat. I probably should've been in bed an hour ago, but it felt good to just crash after the girls went to bed...

Now THAT sound GREAT! I'm gonna have to try that. Hmmm....maybe some teriyaki chicken to go with it? Rum, pineapple ....what else do I need for a Lapu Lapu?
I use Appleton Estate Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and sweet and sour mixer.

Want to know what size glass I use ???? :D

Mike went on a motorcycle ride today with some friends. They are going to head to Red River and then up to Taos, Santa Fe, etc. He wanted me to go...HA, not in my condition.
So are you still sore ????? :D

No one is in the pool. I like to wait until 4 or 5pm as the pool is warmest then, and the backyard has at least a bit of shade by then.
We still haven't been able to get in ours yet. Today's water temp was 66.1 F ! I've got a new solar cover coming tomorrow and that will help ! :D

Veggie-beef?? Together in one burger?

Yes, together in one burger. The recipe originated from the Heart Association cookbook. They mixed chopped tomatoes, diced onions and green peppers into the ground beef. We do about the same, but we replaced the chopped tomatoes with canned tomatoes with green chilies (better known as Rotel here). We also added a few chopped jalapenos in today. I'm sure you could add other veggies in as well, but that's all we've tried so far.

So what are you going to chose ?????

I don't know. I'll probably decide when I make my lunch tomorrow. I think it's between the burger and the sandwich. Which one would keep longer?

So are you still sore ????? :D

UM....yes, still pretty sore...feel better today, but I didn't do much and just let my muscles heal. Whose crazy idea was it for me to walk all that way???

How was everyone's Monday? Mike got home around 7:00ish from his ride, they had a great time, said the mountains up north looked beautiful. We cooked out steaks, potatos, and corn on the cob when he got home. It was excellent, Mike is a perfect griller. Wouldn't trust him in the kitchen, but on the grill, he's tops.

UGH, I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, oh well I guess it'll be a short week so hopefully it will go by quick.

So kitten update...they are SOOO big now and cute as buttons. They are eating mushy wet food and some dry. Little stripe is always so hungry and when I put the food down she's still crying so when she starts eating she makes this little wawawawawa sounds, cracks me up. They are motoring around the house and getting into mischeive (sp?). I only have them for about another week and a half and then they go back to the shelter. I'm looking forward to life getting back to normal and not having two more mouths to feed, but they sure have been fun.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Take care

Who's got breakfast? I'll start the coffee...

I have a pot of tea ready, a blend of green jasmine and green lotus. Quite tasty. Would anyone care for a cup?

I use Appleton Estate Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and sweet and sour mixer.

I watched a program about Jamaica on the Travel Channel the other night. They did a tour of the Appleton distillery. Did you know that Appleton has the only female rum blender in the world? She knows her stuff!

I'm with you on cats, Page. I love them. Mittens loves the house. He has lost weight with all the space he has and he's running up and down the stairs all the time. He has really surprised me by not wanting to go outside via the front door. He's happy going out on the balcony.

Didn't you know, Page, that Pogo builds sand castles in sand traps? There's replicas of Cindy's castle in all the sand traps in the Rochester area. That's how he gets his Disney fixes!!!:D

Since I had a weird shift yesterday, it's a normal day for me. I'm just hoping that the boss doesn't come in today because I'm not in the mood to build shelving today. I get to go see a certain JQ'er tonight, so I don't want to be exhausted!!!

Hey all! Just zooping in for a moment to see what is up today. Looks many of us have holiday hang over going on or worse post holiday catch up at work.

As I have mentioned before I am not able to work full time because of all my various health issues but when I did work full time it always amazed me how everyone could be off for a holiday and the business shut down for that same time period yet when we returned it seemed like we had twice the workload to dig out from before we could get back to normal!

So what's up for everyone this week? Anything fun and exciting going on?

Well, you're playing golf Dec 13th so start practicing.
There have been like three birthdays, way to pay attention
Your namesake is at 26 weeks and is doing fine.
Brian is in Mexico.
Pogo thinks you can smoke Coral Reef.
Greg interviewed for jobs at Disney.
Blythe and Dan's house closed. There was much rejoicing.
DVC has free Internet.
We're still registered at Babies R Us.
Rhonda put ear drops on her toes.
Brian made a post. There was much rejoicing.
Mary gets teary-eyed at Shamu.

That's about all I can think of without looking.

So where have you been?

I have had things like that before with my neck and it is MISERABLE!! I don't know what causes it, but for me it usually happens a week or two before I break out with a really horrible cold.

So if you live in New Mexico that puts you at what 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time? In other words if it is 3:00 in the afternoon in New York is it noon in New Mexico?

It might be the doctor I work for, she sometimes has that effect on me!! :D I sure hope it doesn't mean I'm about ready to come down with something horrible, I really just hope that it's from my long hike on Sunday.

Actually NM is only two hours behind EST, we're on MST. Almost 3:30 here. I wish I was where it was 5:30 but only a few more patients and I get to go home!

So guess what??? Chicken butt!! OK, no really the dog that I walked on Sunday got adopted later in the day!! She was so cool I'm so glad she got a home. They probably thought she was so calm and mild mannered and it was really because I had walked her butt off earlier that day!! :D

You poor, over-worked soul... :D

Well, I will just leave some pizza for anyone who wants to drop in and grab a slice or two.
Thanks!! Perfect antidote for a boring day...

How's your neck? Sorry to hear it's bothering you...

Wow -- not bad, esp. for someone who usually just cruises through here when everyone else is :sleepin:!

Speaking of Alex's namesake... I delivered a baby boy last week, they named him Alexander Thomas.... :D

I don't know about what time it is there, but it's 5 somewhere - here!! Time for some :marg:??? (I got "cancelled" for the first four hours of my shift... :woohoo: ... to quote Jym - "there was much rejoicing"!!)

Unfortunately, it just gives me more time for :laundry: -- maybe a little SVU later...

Me thinks you may have hit upon a cause for thoust's pain in the neck!

We have a mixed breed pup that is about 5 months old that we got from the local Humane Society a couple of months ago. We went camping this past weekend and he got walked/played/run all over the campground and through the woods with our son and with just about everyone else at the campground. Can you say whipped pup?

By yesterday he actually started just sitting down and refusing to walk any further when he was really tired! And today all he wants to do is stay in his kennel and sleep! I gave him some fresh water and food a little while ago and he just lifted his head to eat and drink! I didn't know it was possible to wear a pup out that much!:D

I wish we could tire one of our pups out. She's actually 9 years old and I have walked her and walked her and walked her until our other dogs are about dead and she's just getting started. Makes me crazy. I actually have a little back pack she wears that I put full bottles of water in to weigh her down some and try to make her tired. She's a bundle of energy!

I think that sounds SOOOO cool, what do you guys think? I would love to do some of the "exclusive" grand gathering stuff seeing as I don't know if I'll ever be traveling with that many people again. Let me know what you guys want to do, I'm up for anything...the cruise sounded nice, this sounds fun, whatever.

Geesh, look what the cat dragged in. Where have you been hiding and are you going to come and see us more often? So we've been talking about your new outfit. We've decided that along with your lime green sequined tube top, pink juicy shorts, fuchsia stilettos, you'll be wearing a purple feathered boa for the meet in Dec. Pogo will be giving you a special gift for wearing the outfit, right, gang?

Happy Hump Day everyone! Anyone want to join me in the "It's Wednesday" dance?
(I get paid tomorrow, too, yippee!!!)

I'm glad to hear that Mittens has adjusted to your new digs. Just watch out for him on the balcony. DH's once had a cat that took a header off his apartment balcony chasing a catnip mouse! Max cat was okay after he shook off the fall, but DH ended up putting screen around the inside of the balcony to prevent further misadventures!

Does Pogo set off little fireworks over his sand castles?

Absolutely! What'd you get??

I may head out to the nursery for soil and a few plants later.

Got a brand spankin new Subaru Outback. I love it! Very zippy and much better gas mileage than my old car.

I love playing with plants. My jungle of a yard is starting to come into it's full summer glory. Hummingbirds, butterflies...LOVE IT!
What did you end up buying? Something colorful?

WOW, it's quiet in here today. Where's everyone at? Back at work after a nice long weekend?

Well, I will just leave some :pizza: for anyone who wants to drop in and grab a slice or two.

People apparently yakked it up all night. Don't you folks ever sleep?:cloud9:

And I love cold pizza for b'fast. Is there any left?

Anybody know a good way to get rid of ants on the front porch?

Hide an anteater under the porch...kind of like a troll under a bridge.:D

Our cardinals fledged last week - peeping all the way. Once they're out of the nest, they normally don't go back. They should be fine with 40 temps.

Kind of a quiet evening. DH is freakin out the kitties by chasing them with DD6's remote control car.

Our cat pounces on remote control cars - She's pulled more than one antenna out!:D

Well, I'd better get to work if I want to get paid tomorrow!

Pogo it's life, lTC, CI & DI plus of course annuities and seg funds. Does that help you decide if it's boring? Either CP or the Grand Gatering idea are fine by me,..the limited numbers at the Grand Gatering things can really be worth the dollars as we would have an easier time of chatting etc then a buffet but seeing as how CP is my fave MK place I'm just fine either way. :mickey:

And Blythe, I'm not sure and if I'm wrong please correct me but Pogo do you do all the other investment, lending stuff as well? If not then still different..the requirement to get our insurance lic is of course partially for sales but also mostly becuase reviewing someones long term financial plan without talking about the safety net that should go with it is a little lopsided.,in reality most of the insurance I'll likely do will be group plans I hope.

I'll change my plans if you pay our way!!!:D Honestly, though, the move was really stressful for me and now we're getting ready for inventory, which is in July, then all the staff wants vacation immediately, followed by my yearly seminar is all coming up between now and the end of September so I'll really need to get away to destress. I don't know how much I'm actually going to enjoy the trip because of the stress.

Hi all, and again to Carol it was really nice to see you and Gilles.

It was really nice seeing you again, also. How did you like the cookies? I forgot I had that necklace for you!! I remembered halfway home and Gilles was willing to turn around, but I said it could wait. Just another reason to see you again!!!:D

Oh man...... you saw Caroleh and Gilles ???? :(

Natalie is doing her training about an half hour away from us, so we popped down and took her out to dinner. We couldn't have her this close and not visit, could we?

Ken has been awfully quiet for having the week off. Do you think his DW has a giant honey do list for him?

I'm glad to hear that Mittens has adjusted to your new digs. Just watch out for him on the balcony. DH's once had a cat that took a header off his apartment balcony chasing a catnip mouse! Max cat was okay after he shook off the fall, but DH ended up putting screen around the inside of the balcony to prevent further misadventures!

Does Pogo set off little fireworks over his sand castles?

The slats in the railing is too close together to get though. I thought he was going to get his head stuck the other day when he was out there. In our apartment we had plexi-glass around the balcony , but he kept jumping on the cement side of it, which he can't do here.

I think he puts the sparklers around them because regular fireworks will be a little overkill!!!:D

Two more days of work for me and then I have a four day weekend!!!!

Is Alex going to surprise us with another visit today?

Zoop. Believe it or not, she hasn't had that huge a list for me (but she still couldn't resist giving me a few things to do. I'm supposed to be having a de-stressing week with no obligations (hear that Carol?) so I've just been kind of drifting from thing to thing.

Well, gotta go do nothing. TTFN.

Thanks Jym. See you all next month. :D

Speaking of Alex's namesake... I delivered a baby boy last week, they named him Alexander Thomas....

Those are the names of my two sons....Alex and Thomas.

That was last year's outfit. This year is blue with pink trimmed Bebe shorts with a yellow Ed Hardy T-shirt. ;)

Who are you?

Everybody is a comedian. :shake:

2) I'm gonna like this guy ! Except he's a guitar player.

Nice try, Pogo. I think the expression is "what do you expect, he's the drummer" :D

Is Alex going to surprise us with another visit today?
Be careful what you wish for Carol!

Tomorrow is Maria's birthday. What shall I get her?

Ok JQ golfers, are you ready for this?

So yesterday the Coach sent her experienced girls out on the course for a practice round while she worked with the newbies. Lauren shot a 1 over par! For the round. That's +1! She was so excited! And of course Dad was just a little happy. ;)

Anyway, just had to share. Hope everyone is having a good week, and in case anyone is counting down with me.....16 days! :mickey: Oh yeah, uh huh, that's right, 16 days and I'll be in WDW! :D

Scott that's fantastic! Alex just step away from the Bebe shorts. Writing should not be on any part of one's anotomy below the waist and above the ankle. (And I'm truly not sure about the feet either but people do seem to like branding on the shoes)

Is there a free question out here somewhere?

Happy Hump Day everyone! Anyone want to join me in the "It's Wednesday" dance?

Got a brand spankin new Subaru Outback. I love it! Very zippy and much better gas mileage than my old car.
Sure...... why not ???

Congrats on the new wheels !

Pogo it's life, lTC, CI & DI plus of course annuities and seg funds. Does that help you decide if it's boring?

Pogo do you do all the other investment, lending stuff as well? If not then still different..the requirement to get our insurance lic is of course partially for sales but also mostly becuase reviewing someones long term financial plan without talking about the safety net that should go with it is a little lopsided.,in reality most of the insurance I'll likely do will be group plans I hope.
Not boring at all... I'm selling LTCi, Life, Annuities, DI, Cancer and Senior Health. A lot of my sales are to groups, but single sales can create crossover sales and referrals ! I'm thinking about expanding to a Securities License so I can do the full fledged financial planning, but I don't think I want to accept the risk involved.

Good morning JQ'ers
I was just wondering if there is a revised list of those who are going in December, well is there? There will be me my mom, Daisy, Dotty-Ann, her daughter, well at least 5 of us staying at OKW. Looks like we're slowing but surely staying at different WDW resorts huh?

And different dates !

Didn't you know our JQ meet dates are December 12th and 13th ?????? :D

I'll change my plans if you pay our way !

Let me think about that for a minute............

Okay, I was just wondering, since after the Western NY/Ontario meet last Nov. Pogo had suggested a meet at Darien Lake this summer. Since most of us have pretty hectic summer schedules, would anyone be interested in a meet late August, early Sept.? Maybe after Labor Day? If not Darien Lake maybe the Falls again? It would be warmer!!!

My most recent memory of rum involves a wicked headache :ill: so I'll pass. Thanks, anyway!

Upon further review, I think we would be better off at CP for breakfast.

CP is about $10 a head cheaper and it could make a difference in families being able too, or wanting to come to this.
I still haven't bought our plane tickets so I'm in "must budget" mode. Which means that the $11 each makes a difference to me, and therefore I'd vote for CP.

Wow -- lots to answer!! We'll see how I do... I only got about 3hrs of sleep today, so I'm not sure about much of anything except I need more coffee....

I'm up! It is 3:30 here or so. What do you want to talk about?
Sorry I missed you! My morning became a little busy right about the time you woke up... figures, doesn't it??

Here pig..... soooouuie, pig, pig, pig !

Bet you didn't know I used to work on a farm, did ya ?

You scare me.... but if a Lapu Lapu comes with that, I'll work with the fear... :D

Upon further review, I think we would be better off at CP for breakfast.
Please share your thoughts about this everyone !
I agree... we've been wanting to go there, and any excuse for a good breakfast works for us! We were going to go before MVMCP, but now that opens us up to try somewhere else! Plus, it gets us going nice & early...
... speaking of which, what day are we thinking of? And what time? I think Ellen mentioned that if we're a large group, we'd have to go early... if it's Friday, we'll be at MVMCP the night before, so if it's too early, maybe we'd bow out... although our girls are usually up early, regardless of when they go to bed... (What did we decide about swapping mornings with our golf outing? I can't remember...)

Got a brand spankin new Subaru Outback. I love it! Very zippy and much better gas mileage than my old car.

People apparently yakked it up all night. Don't you folks ever sleep?

Our cardinals fledged last week - peeping all the way. Once they're out of the nest, they normally don't go back. They should be fine with 40 temps.

Awesome! That's a car I'm considering in the future... okay, WAY in the future... we'll be keeping my Pilot for quite awhile yet, but I love the Outbacks!! (Esp. the LLBean edition...)

3 nights a week -- not so much! It'd be a bit of a job hazard...

Do your cardinals come back every year? My DH is hoping the babies will stay around for awhile, and that the mom & dad will return... we saw the dad a lot last spring/summer, so we're glad he brought a "wife" this time!

 Glad you guys know what you're talking about... I love "running numbers", but I'd be terrified of doing it for someone else! Glad there are folks like you out there! :)

I'd probably vote for early September... our August is just about impossible. And I'd probably vote for the Falls, or something similar... we don't do a lot of the big rides @ Darien, and it'd be getting too cool for the water ones, I'm guessing. But that's just me....

Late August would be perfect for us and I'll do my best to actually make it up there this time around.

Ellen, if late August works better for you and brings you up our way -- I'll find a way to make it work!

How about an article about how the internet brings people together from all walks of life, interests, parts of the world and allows them to find common bonds that become true friendships?? (Oh, wait... I think I already started one like that... but seeing as I'll never finish it, feel free to steal... :D)

If $ are what counts then do we need to do any meal meets? Rides etc are included in the price we have paid for tickets. How much is the mini golf nowdays? How many of us have some kind of discount that those who want to play can use? Can people watch (laugh etc) for free?

I guess all I'm saying is that it is meeting everyone that is important, not what we do while we are there.

Ellen, Life is life insurance (cause apparently almost no one will buy something called death payment insurance weird huh?), LTC is Long term Care insurance for which one cannot perform 2 of normally 6 activities such as dressing or feeding oneselves, CI is critcal illness which is a lump sum payment insurance to deal with something such as heart attack and stroke and :thedolls: etc. Did the others make sense?

Funny how different things feel different isn't it Pogo, the security thing or mutal funds dont strike me as "risky" but the insurance thing is giving me a wee bit of a werid feeling. Course that could be the lack of circulation due to the size of the textbooks. They weigh about as much as William.

Good morning all..... looks like the night shift took the night off leaving Jym to cover it all by himself.

Today is supposed to be a very nice day here on the North Coast and I'm afraid I'll be stuck inside for most of it.... oh well. Anyone have any ideas on how I can slip in a little exercise today ? :D

Good morning All!

Pogo gets the sun on the north coast today. Here on the south coast, it's cloudy rainy, but that's okay! It's still a beautiful day! I love the way rain makes all the plants look greener, don't you?

Awesome! That's a car I'm considering in the future... okay, WAY in the future... we'll be keeping my Pilot for quite awhile yet, but I love the Outbacks!! (Esp. the LLBean edition...)

Do your cardinals come back every year? My DH is hoping the babies will stay around for awhile, and that the mom & dad will return... we saw the dad a lot last spring/summer, so we're glad he brought a "wife" this time!

I had the choice between an LL Bean Edition and the next step down. I chose the next step down, mainly because LL Bean obviously won't pay me to ride around with their logo plastered inside the car and the dealership wanted more money for me to have that privelege! Mine's pearl white (I've named it Mikimoto) and is fully loaded - just no nav system and no LL Bean. :D

Our cardinals never leave. They are year round residents. It's fun to find their nests in the trees. We have a Japanese maple that they build in every year.

Funny how different things feel different isn't it Pogo, the security thing or mutal funds dont strike me as "risky" but the insurance thing is giving me a wee bit of a werid feeling. Course that could be the lack of circulation due to the size of the textbooks. They weigh about as much as William.

I'm learning how to trade options because my mutual funds are definitely not risky - ie not income generating. 1-2 % per annum just doesn't cut it if you want to retire some day with any sense of security. ;)

Ah, text books..don't you just love cracking the spine when you open a new text book?

I feel like I'm eavesdropping when I'm reading about the JQU December meet-up. I wish I could be there, but DH and I will have just gotten back. We'll try to leave WDW standing!
I have our ADR's all booked, got just what we wanted, booked a couple tours (Seqways, here we come!), and we have our MVMMCP tickets. I can hardly wait!

It's payday - I guess I'd better get to work!

TTFN!
:mickey:

Oh, by the way, tea's ready. Would anyone like a cup?

We need every one's input.

Friday: Breakfast at CP.
Friday evening: Osbourne Lights unless Pop Warner has rented ut DHS that night.

Saturday: 11:00 AM Mini Golf w/ pint to follow. I'm guessing this is a pint of ice cream.

Saturday evening: Dinner ??affirmative, I like food!

I like that we have some sort of a plan....but as others have stated we can fit in what works best for each person. I know I won't be able to make every official meet but I'll be there when I can!!! That being said I think this looks great and once we find out about The Studios being open or not we can figure out if we need to switch the lights night around. These are the ideas I have heard for dinner: Coral Reef, Spoodles, Garden Grill, 'Ohana, Kona. Any other ideas/suggestions?

We need to have a live chatroom or something so everyone can share their :twocents:!!! That might get kinda crazy though

Anyone have any ideas on how I can slip in a little exercise today ?

Do you have stairs at your office? Perhaps try running up and down them up a bunch of times?and BTW I work in the financial planning industry - I think you'd make a great advisor!

Unless you plan to retire at age 90! Congrats on all your WDW planning. You better leave it standing for us....although I wish you could be there at the same time. :(

Disney has a site that allows you to talk to others that are doing a grand gathering, live chat with everyone that is a part of the grand gathering. Or we can use a chat room online and just chat with others in there muted out. Whatever that is called/titled. What about Yahoo? Or Aim?
Oh by the way the coffee tastes very good this am, specially with the cinnammon hazelnut cream added to it.

Kindegarten graduation is today!!!:tigger:Do you cry? I do....even if my kid isn't involved.

Tomorrow is Maria's birthday. What shall I get her?...an outfit to match yours? It might work on an attractive woman... :D

Next thing you know he will be getting piercings and tattoos !...and what is wrong with piercings and tattoos? :thedolls:

Happy Thursday everyone? Brian is still away (until Saturday morning) -- and I'm exhausted....and believe it or not things would not be any different even if he were at home. I left my house at 7:45 yesterday morning, and didnt get home again until 7:30 last night when I could finally eat my dinner. It was a day of one thing after another..... It's so nice to get back to work on a Thursday so I can relax some! :D

Yeah, what's up with that? Yesterday it dropped from about 85 degrees at midday to about 60 by 9:00 and it's been mighty chilly this morning. DW says at least she doesn't have to water the flowers with all the rain we had overnight.

Somethin' about sinking cold fronts...Hey, it's going to be in the 90's by Saturday. I'll happily take a little bit cooler day to allow the plants to absorb the rain water before they get blasted again.:D

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :D

I would reccomend Coral Reef and Le Cellier...especially if you're going to be on the dining plan. If I go, I'll def be on the DDP and will definitely call the 180 days in advance for a Le Cellier ressie. :mickey:

When are the main days of events? Is it mainly Friday, Sat, and Sun? If I go, I will be there prob Weds-Sun most likely.
