Okay doaky, haven't been around here for a little bit and thought I'd better check in.

How's everyone doing? I'm good thank-you very much. :D

Big weekend around here with a big antique festival going on in the next town, which means I'm holding down the fort by myself more or less.

What ever plans are made for December, I try and make it on Saturday morning.

Hey all, just swinging through to see what is going on!

While I was waiting on my dial up to load Intercot I was doing some reading on a news web site. Are any of you familiar with a fruit called "The Miracle Fruit?" Its Latin name is Synsepalum dulcificum. Apparently if you eat one of these small, berry like fruits and then follow that with something acidic, or sour it makes those things taste really sweet.

This thing is completely legal and apparently is completely harmless. This article was saying that in New York City bars are now selling these fruits for $15.00 a piece and then providing a variety of sour or acidic things to eat with it. It supposedly also makes alcohol taste really good as well. I was just wondering if any of you had heard of this before?

Somethin' about sinking cold fronts..

At my age it is not sinking cold fronts that I am worried about!:D:D

and what is wrong with piercings and tattoos?

It all depends on things like where they are, what they are, and what kind of work the person does.

For example I know of minister at a small local church who was quite the rascal when he was younger and got tattoo on his forearm that said "born to raise he**" He tells the story of how he got drunk one night with some friends and decided to get this done. Then about 10 years later he got clean and found religion to the point that he decided to go to school and become ordained in his faith. Needless to say he now gets VERY tired of explaining to people why their minister sports such a tattoo!

Hey all... quick zoop before dinner & then work. It's been a BEAUTIFUL day here, and I've spent most of it doing our front gardens... boy, oh boy, am I tired! Ought to make staying up tonight interesting... ... although, I did sleep in considerably this morning, after I got the girls off to school... I think I'm caught up now from yesterday!

So - how's today been for everybody? Aren't you glad it's almost FRIDAY??? :D

Do you want to know what Maria got me for her birthday? :D
Ummm... sure, I think.... :D

If I make extra, would anyone like some Pad Thai??

Well, normally I'd say yes, but this week it means my vacation is almost over.

I'll pass on the Pad Thai this time--just got finished eating the leftovers from my Chinese dinner from last night. We got some S.C. peaches while we were out today and they're yummy. I've cut some up to have over ice cream for dessert.

Our great spring weather is back.

anybody want to go to the store with me?

Kindegarten graduation is today!!!:tigger:

Kindergarten graduation for DD6 is June 6th! The older ones don't get done with school until June 12th.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can slip in a little exercise today ? :D
How 'bout a Wii fit? :D (Does that paint a picture? :D)

I have our ADR's all booked, got just what we wanted, booked a couple tours (Seqways, here we come!), and we have our MVMMCP tickets. I can hardly wait!

We are thinking of doing the Segway tour in December, too!

Do you want to know what Maria got me for her birthday? :D
I think I need to have a talk with that woman...:shake:

So anybody have the final plans for December? :D We will plan on the breakfast at CP (but Saturday works better), mini golf and the Osborne lights. Any dinner plans would depend on what day and where. We plan to do MVMCP on Sunday, and we are thinking of a possibly a Segway tour. Anyone else?:D

Uhhhhmmmm...:exactly: what is Pad Thai?
It's delicious! It's a Thai dish, actually, probably their "basic" one... rice noodles, chicken (or shrimp), scrambled eggs, peanuts and a sweet sauce... very yummy!! Some people add sprouts... I would, but the rest of my family would :ack:.

Our great spring weather is back.

Ours too!! :) Sorry to hear your vaca is ending...

For us, it'll be breakfast at CP - ditto on the Saturday preference - and mini golf... we'll probably skip Osborne lights, and dinner will depend on day/location for us, as well. Wish I'd known you were thinking of MVMCP on Sunday - we're going Thursday, and already have the tickets! Oh well... we'll just have to find another chance to get together. :D

How's Thursday night going? I'm on the labor floor tonight, and so far, so good... lots of babies on the way, but none imminent. :baby:

Please pass the wine....no, not the glass....the BOTTLE! Uggghh! Guess what I discovered when I went to make dinner? One of the kids didn't QUITE close the freezer door....a couple of days ago.....and you guessed it, EVERYTHING is defrosted! I just about cried when I saw the steak and the salmon! :sob: I guess thats one way to clean out the freezer. So does anyone know if you can refreeze freezer jam once it is thawed? Otherwise I will be making LOTS this summer! OK, so we keep it simple - hot dogs on the grill, right? You betcha!....at least until the grill runs out of fuel! So....back to my original question...Could you please pass the wine....

NOW you ask!

Years (and years) ago when I was in my first park, a little summer twister took out the power lines that ran between the superintendent's house and mine. We had no power for a week. We had a huge cookout for all the summer personnel with our thawed goodies. We didn't serve any mint chocolate chip soup though. :D

Blythe, all I've got right now is vanilla. don't know why I didn't pick up some mcc while I was at the store this evening. When you tell us what you're doing at work, I always think of Butterfly McQueen's line in "Gone With The Wind."

Today is indeed Friday and it's the last Friday of May and it's my last Friday to work because next Friday I'll be off. Then I work 4 days and leave on a Wednesday. And won't be back here until the following Wednesday. And then will have 2 days to recover from the trip up north. First time in almost 2 years since both PirateGal and I have been back in NJ. I think I'll miss being able to visit a park when the mood strikes me. I thought about GA but then again it's not disney. :D It's just 12 days away and we haven't packed yet. Good morning all........ well I found a little exercise yesterday. I managed to squeeze in nine holes. Funny, but while I was playing nine with a client I had two messages left on my voice mail requesting my presence at two other golf courses.... one from a client and one from a networking partner. Do you think that will happen again today ?????

Good FRIDAY morning everyone!
Does anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

At my age it is not sinking cold fronts that I am worried about!

:funny: I empathize completely! Why didn't "they" let us know when we were younger about the er, personal effect gravity has on us?

I've spent most of it doing our front gardens.
If I make extra, would anyone like some Pad Thai??

Did you plant anything fun? Or are you in the weed-pulling stage like me?

I love pad thai - with tofu please. That's probably what I'm going to have for lunch.

We got some S.C. peaches while we were out today and they're yummy.

Wait a minute, I live in SC - All I can find around here are GA peaches. Where did you find SC peaches?

How 'bout a Wii fit?

We are thinking of doing the Segway tour in December, too!

Does Pogo need to have a fit? :D
(I think the yoga module looks like fun.)

I'll let you know how the Segway ride goes...looks like a lot of fun, don't you agree?

Does anyone have a tissue?

I think I have a spare box somewhere...will one box be enough?

Sorry, Buddy, but I don't do blue eyeshadow or any make-up except for recital when I don't have a choice. I might put a little make-up on for special occasions, but never on an everyday thing and I don't do moomoos and flowers on my clothing!!!:fresh:

:silly: When I read Pogo's post, I was going to ask if you wear blue eyeshadow...but no moomoos? ( I don't wear 'em either.:D)

One of the kids didn't QUITE close the freezer door....a couple of days ago.....and you guessed it, EVERYTHING is defrosted! So....back to my original question...Could you please pass the wine....

Ooooh, I feel your pain....My mother, bless her soul, used to do the same thing. I'd come into the kitchen in the morning and find she would not have shut the freezer drawer completely the night before. This happened more than once.

I have some Pinot Grigio - will that do?

Everybody doin' fine?

Yes, quite fine thank you. And you?

We've got some of that! Do you like soft serve? :D

Soft serve please. I have some caramel sauce around here somewhere. Would you like some?

So, why didn't anyone else notice Page's lack of question? I can usually trust all of you to point it out before I get a chance.

One of the kids didn't QUITE close the freezer door....a couple of days ago.....and you guessed it, EVERYTHING is defrosted!T&G -- I don't think you should attempt to salvage anything. What a heartache! When I was a kid, I was allowed to rollerskate in our lower basement in the winter. I would take my record player down with me and get to it -- only, I had to temporarily unplug the chest freezer to plug in my player. Need I go into the details of my month of banishment to my room and the end of indoor rollerskating?

ICK! Do not attempt to salvage ANY meat items for sure! My dh did this one time and ugh.. what a mess! Luckily we have a deep freeze which is where I keep all our meat so we just lost some veggies and some ice cream sandwiches and a few misc. type items.

Nothing too crazy.....just a client event dinner tomorrow evening. I have a big month ahead of me with visitors so I'm going to enjoy some quiet time this weekend.

Such good taste! Breyers MCC is the ice-cream of choice for our guys too. They like that it is not green. :D

I only eat Breyers - their ingredients list is short which makes me happy. Did anyone notice they made the packages smaller? I only buy them when they are buy one get one free. I buy a lot at a time since we go through 1 container in 3-4 days between the 2 of us!

Whatever he makes/orders for me. ;) I don't usually mid-day nap -- I save it up for whenever I finally sit down at home at the end of the day. Harry makes bets with whomever will take them on how long it will take me to fall asleep. Sassy!

It's great to see you Di! I can't offer you any peaches yet -- I think it will be a late offering this year up our way. There was frost the other night! Do you like Niagara peaches? They are mighty fine!

That is exciting!!! I'd love to be able to go to one of my grand niece's birthday...the oldest turns 3 on Sunday and I can't be there.:(

Let's see, this fall I could have a housewarming party(right, Natalie?) and I could perform one of my dances!!! Would you prefer that?

Do you wear bells? Maybe you could get a job at Epcot if you want to change careers.

Not bells, but a coin scarf. I jingle pretty good!!!

I'm going to be making those bars again, but this time using different ingredients. I'll be using Oreo cookie crumbs, chocolate chips, marshmallows and pecans.

Me too.

That's when DGS1 starts kindergarten. DW went to his pre-school graduation last week.

Just a half gallon???? :D

You know, you gotta build up to it.

I used to roller skate in our basement also.
Around here, if you try to put in a basement, you'll wind up with a pool under the house.

Saturday I have my bellydance recital. Does anyone want to come and watch?
Would Pogo, Alex and I have to :zipped: if we came to watch?

Seven...next thing you know, she'll bringing her boyfriends over to meet you.
Why would she want to scare her boyfriends away? :D

Yeah, and based on what I have seen it is much worse on many of the ladies than it is on us men!:D:D

Wait a minute, I live in SC - All I can find around here are GA

Well, the fella that always shows up in his pick'm'up this time of year with peaches is from SC and he says they're from his family's place down there (or in my case, it might be over there, since we're further south than half of SC, but I digress). Think he might be funnin' us?

Does it matter where they are from as long as they are good? Can you get Drummerboy's Discount Fruit Delivery Service to send a bushel of those to southern Indiana for me? We are at least a month or more away from the first peaches being ready up here.

I am actually rather excited about the prospects for my own peaches this year. We moved to our current house in the fall of 2001 and were excited to find a small orchard on the property that includes 4 peach trees. For the last 7 years we have not gotten any peaches because of late frost/freezes that froze the blooms each year. Well this year we have not had any late cold so we have trees that are just full of baby peaches! I am stoked - just waiting for our first bite of our own peaches in early July.

What you talkin' about Willis? That's not receding you are seeing it is just a temporary setback due to the last 15 years of medications and surgeries. At least that is what I keep trying to tell myself! Oh, and men do also sometimes have sagging problems as we get older. However, seeing as how this is a family site I think it is best if I just leave it at that right?

Cover them with a net before the animals can snag them!!! What colour are Indiana peaches? I'm used to orange ones up here...

Based on the few little scrubby ones we have had these are mostly the yellowish ones. I have been told by our local Extension Service Agent that the pink ones you see in Georgia just don't do well enough to be grown this far north. In fact, as we have seen it is rather hit or miss growing ANY peaches in this area. OH, and as for netting my 19 and 11 year old sons have promised me they will both stay home this Sunday after Church and help me get the netting over the both the peaches and the cherries. The cherries are actually just a few weeks away from getting ripe so the netting has to get on ASAP or we will lose them to the birds. Fortunately the cherries, pears, and apples have been regular producers every year. And since the peaches now appear to be giving us a crop we may let them go another year or two. But if they keep freezing out I am just going to give up and cut them down. Of course that is assuming that the highway that is proposed to run right through our house doesn't happen! How's that for one run-on paragraph?:D:D

But if you take our breath away how are we going to cheer, hoot, whistle, and holler to show our appreciation of your performance?

By the way, my belly kind of dances around on its own when I lay down on my back, does that count as belly dancing? (I know, that last comment doesn't provide you with a very pleasant mental picture does it?)

I think every man needs to have a good sled riding gone bad story don't you? Mine was more years ago than I can remember and involves me riding an inner tube down a hill and everyone else bails off and I go head first into a pretty respectable size tree! At least that is what my addled brain remembers of the incident. Oh yeah, that and because my wife has the entire thing on video.

Is anyone else who is of a certain age as glad as I am that many stunts from our younger days that were caught on video were caught on VHS which means they are likely never to be seen again? I know I am!!

On a related note about 15 years ago our local 4-H program celebrated 25 years of use at the current fairgrounds so they did a time capsule and included a VHS video of things done by youth in the program that year. They were so concerned already at that time about whether VHS would be around so they bought a small VHS play only deck and put that in the time capsule along with everything else. That way they are sure to have something to play the video on. The scary thing is that I and my two oldest children are on that video. I just hope I live long enough to steal that tape when they open the time capsule in another 35 years. That would put me well into my 80's. Do you think my reflexes will be good enough to grab the tape without anyone noticing?

It's great to see you Di! I can't offer you any peaches yet -- I think it will be a late offering this year up our way. There was frost the other night! Do you like Niagara peaches? They are mighty fine!

Never had Niagara peaches. Do they grow under the falls?

I have today though Monday off, so I have a long weekend and Saturday I have my bellydance recital. Does anyone want to come and watch?

Wish I could! But I have an auction at my church ... unless we get thunderstormed out...

Quiet, you ! :fresh:

:fresh: right back atcha!

Not bells, but a coin scarf. I jingle pretty good!!!

I've got a coin scarf too... never been used so the dust on it would probably muffle the jingles if I tried to use it...

Good thing you only invited us along to watch and not participate! I tried belly dancing once but was arrested for making an illegal lane change!!

:funny::rotfl: Oh my! Now that all my co-workers are looking at me funny from my laughing outburst....

I was thinking the same thing, especially when he pulled out his guns.

One of the men in our church actually did that when his daughter brought her boyfriend home from college to visit. He got his guns out and was cleaning them as he talked to the boy. The boy asked him what the guns were for, or why did he have them out.. his answer?.. "In case I need them for target practice"... they are now engaged so that boy must really love the daughter!!!!

Cool............ who's got a better job than you ???? :D
One can always hope!!

Does anyone have exciting plans for the weekend?

Did you plant anything fun? Or are you in the weed-pulling stage like me?

Nope, not really... just being home, getting stuff done around here... but it'll feel good not having to go in to work!

No planting yet - just prep work. But hopefully I'll be planting this weekend!! That's the fun part - can't wait! :D

Wow - I ALSO used to rollerskate in my basement too!!! I thought I was the only one.
My girls LOVE to skate and/or scooter in the basement -- I'll just have to make sure they don't do any unplugging!!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I won't be on much tomorrow. My recital isn't until 7:30pm, but our last dress rehearsal is at 4. My instructor wants me there at noon to help her set up. Remember my wallhanging with the hand(the good luck symbol)? We're using it as the backdrop on the stage and framing it with veils. So it'll be a very long day.

Today I helped one of the girls with her skirt(put the hem in), finished my costume, practiced for a good hour or more, finished off a book and now I'm making bars. I thought I'd be a goner today because I woke up at 12:15 this morning and couldn't sleep. I think I laid down around 3 and Gilles sent me to bed when he got up at 5. I was up for good by 8:15. I love days like this!!!! I hope my whole weekend is like this!!!

Wasn't Alex going to tell us what he got Maria for her birthday and she got him for her birthday?

So we finally have confirmed dates for December! We arrive on the 11th,(planning a red eye flight) and leave the 15th. So far we are at OKW, but waitlisted for other resorts as well. So now the planning can go into full swing!!

So maybe we should figure out which day we are planning breakfast at CP? And how many people will they let you make an ADR for, if its all one group??

Yeah! If you end up at OKW, Dan & I will have to come visit you there... it's the DVC we like best so far (from pics only) and it'd be great to have a chance to really plant that seed of hope a little deeper!!

I'll start the voting... I vote for Saturday, before mini-golf... not sure about the numbers, but I think Ellen's got a handle on that.

(pretty impressive inner-tube story, btw... all I ever did was get stuck inside one while being pulled by a boat and end up feeling pretty much like a drowned pretzel by the time the "ride" was over...)

What's everyone up to this Friday night? The girls and I hung out at the stables all afternoon, so there was much showering needed before dinner... ;) ... which were very plain and simple subs, some pasta salad and chips! Oh, and of course, a ... I would say for a belly dancer it would be 'Have a cramp', eh?

OK, the truck doorway. When I was a ranger, we had to pick up garbage in the campgrounds, using the park dump truck. Two of us would stand on the running boards on either side while someone else drove, then jump off at each site to empty their garbage can into the truck (Glamorous work, I know). I was on the passenger side running board holding onto the open door for support.

So, one day we had a newbie driving who apparantly saw a chicken or something and started driving slowly off of the road to the right, to a point where a tree was coming right at the open door where I was standing. I thought surely she'd see the tree and get back on the road but I think she forgot how to drive right then and ran the door right into the tree. The door being on hinges, as doors are, closed and just about squished me. I just kind of slid down onto the passenger side seat with the breath knocked out of me. Once I got my breath back, I did the driving.

And the sled. I was on my stomach Zooming down a short steep hill that had a quick, steeper dropoff at one point. Instead of sliding down the steeper dropoff I went airborne and belly-flopped on flat ground. First time I'd had the breath knocked out of me and I thought I'd never breathe again. My f'riends' stood at the top of the hill laughing their heads off. Luckily, VHS cameras weren't invented yet.

So - Emma got her first call from a boy yesterday afternoon... that's right, at 6yrs old... okay, she'll be 7 in June, but still!! She came home with "David B"'s phone number a few days ago, wanted to call him. I said no, you're too young, blah, blah, blah. Winter/Summerland is next to Blizzard Beach, so you use the same entrance/parking lot. And Blizzard Beach is right by Animal Kingdom. Probably the farthest from MK and probably could all get buses from the TTC I believe.

How can one person hear a sound that the person right next to them can't? Why are we tracking elephants and what are they saying to each other? What happens when you freeze air? Are you up to the challenge of our Roller Coaster simulation?

This is your chance to find out all the answers, plus interact with Lucky the Dinosaur, ask Finding Nemo's Crush questions, and of course, meet the Imagineers, the scientists and engineers of Walt Disney Imagineering. Get a glimpse of "make-believe" Disney style as the scientists pull back the curtain to reveal some of the chemistry, physics, biology and technology behind special effects, roller coasters, computer simulation, and animatronics!

Doesn't it sound cool? I'll tell you all about it later!

(pretty impressive inner-tube story, btw... all I ever did was get stuck inside one while being pulled by a boat and end up feeling pretty much like a drowned pretzel by the time the "ride" was over...)

OH man, I had forgotten about tubing on the water! Or maybe I just didn't want to remember, could that be it? Anyway, I can totally agree with the "drowned pretzel" feeling after getting stuck in the wrong spot on an inner tube behind a boat being piloted by a sadistic psychopath!!

So do you still have the scars to prove your story? In all seriousness, you are lucky that you escaped with only having the breath knocked out of you!

Jasper, how are you feeling?

Actually, right now I am feeling about as well as I have for the last few months. The back is still screaming on a regular basis but I am finally getting fully recovered from the thyroid surgery and radiation and am tolerating the thyroid medicine well and most importantly am starting to have some energy again. I do have my next back surgery scheduled for June 23 so we will have to see how things look after that.

Needless to say I am quite ready for all this to be over with!!

You know, I do really try to stay as upbeat and positive as I possibly can about all this and generally just lose my cool at home with my family. The result is that people who don't know me well tend to think that all this is not really a big deal to me. My wife, on the other hand, is more emotional and lets her feelings be better known.

The result is that people are constantly trying to support her and making comments like "gee, this must really be difficult for you." Or "How do you handle everything so well." Now I do realize it is not easy for her to live with all this and many wives would have bailed out of the marriage long ago. But you know, just once I would like one of those people to walk up to me and say "gee, this must really be difficult for you!"

OK, I will get off my :soapbox: now! Thank you for letting my wallow in self pity for a moment and for letting me vent :sorry:. I now return you to your normally semi-positive person!!

Don't worry about it one bit, you can always vent here!! I kinda know what you mean though, but in the opposite way. Mike has had some pretty terrible things happen (motorcycle wreck, kidney surgery, etc) since we've been together and we're both pretty calm about things. My Dad is really the only one that cares about whether or not I'm handling things ok and if I need any help. Everyone else is fawning all over Mike and he's fine. Plus he wouldn't ask for any of their help anyways, he always leans on me. So they think he's fine, I'm fine, we're handling all this GREAT and I'm having a meltdown trying to keep it all together!!!

Don't be afraid to ask for help...people will be there if they know you need them.

And....Jasper...This must really be hard on you. I think you're doing a wonderful job of staying positive and doing the best that you can! Hang in there

So where's Pogo today? Golfing I presume!! Hardworker huh?

Take care all...talk to you soon!

Did I ask enough questions in this post to make up for the faux pas?

You'll need to provide cookies to make up for that - something with chocolate, but no raisins, please. ;)

I have today though Monday off, so I have a long weekend and Saturday I have my bellydance recital. Does anyone want to come and watch?

Why yes, I do want to come and watch, but the ticket you sent for my travel hasn't arrived yet, so I'm thinking that I'm going to be late. Hope it goes well! We want a full report!

Quick zoop to ask a question............. Does anyone know how to get to Winterland Summerland from MK ????

Did you consult the "Getting around Walt Disney World" (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/transportation/gettingaround.asp) section of info central?

I'm trying to do more work from home this weekend, but my afternoon nap seriously cut down on my productivity. :sleepin: Hope everyone else is having a good day!

Wouldn't it be easier to get to the Fantasia Garden course instead of Winterland/Summerland? Just a suggestion, no worries either way.

The only problem is that people without a car would have to take a taxi to Fantasia Gardens, no bus. At least somewhere you could catch a bus to BB and get to W/S. I'm not sure if we're renting a car, but like I said before, I'm sure a few of us are staying at POP. Maybe we could all rent a taxi together, or someone has a car?

My only problem with Saturday is that's the day of the Mega Mouse Meet at the Dolphin. I have to see that, it's one of the BIG reasons I'm going to Mousefest (well and to see all you JQers too! :D ). I would definately be in for breakfast and then I would have to see how long I'm at the MMM before I see if I could do golf.

Keep me posted!!!

Oh, Blythe, that is hysterical!!! So is Dan getting the gun or baseball bat ready?
Being the pirate that he is, I think it's all about sword play... :pirate:

I'm still up. I'm certainly happy about being on the boy's parent end of that scenario than the girl's parent end. Is that wrong?
Nope... just teach your little prince to answer the inquisition well... :D And to use swords...

That is the cutest story!! I couldn't imagine having a boy call when I was 6. Well actually I thought boys were gross ...

So just checking in to drop off some peanut butter cookies I made last night. PB with a hershey kiss on the top...YUM!!
Ditto! I don't remember even noticing boys, really, 'til I was in 7th grade or so!! And yet my girls blush (really!) and get all goofy if you mention certain names!! It's nuts!!

Thanks for the cookies... yummm right back atcha!!

How'd the adoption fair go today?

Good morning all..... getting ready for our two hour drive to Madison's house for the birthday party. This is going to be a really fun day !

How was the party? I'll bet Madison had a great time, and you and Patti did, just enjoying her having fun... what a great day!

We're heading to the City to go to NYU for see a presentation called "The Science of Disney Imagineering (http://www.worldsciencefestival.com/2008-festival/events/all-events/the-science-of-imagination)" that's part of the World Science Festival (http://www.worldsciencefestival.com/):

Doesn't it sound cool? I'll tell you all about it later!

That sounds amazing!! I can't wait to hear about it!

You know, I do really try to stay as upbeat and positive as I possibly can about all this and generally just lose my cool at home with my family. The result is that people who don't know me well tend to think that all this is not really a big deal to me. My wife, on the other hand, is more emotional and lets her feelings be better known.

But you know, just once I would like one of those people to walk up to me and say "gee, this must really be difficult for you!"

You can get on your soapbox any time you'd like... you know we don't mind!! We're always here to listen!!

Dan & I have never been through all the physical stuff you've been through, but we've been through rough waters financially and with his job, and we go through a similar scenario... he tends to let it show, whereas I internalize everything... and then when I finally "blow" or fall apart, everyone says, "Oh -- are you okay? You're always so strong!" It makes me wish sometimes I was the opposite way... but on the other hand, we compliment each other and he's strong when I'm not... so I guess I wouldn't trade it -- I just wish everyone didn't expect me to always weather everything so well!

So - I've got to run to dinner -- but we got a TON done today! I'd prepped one garden for planting on Thursday and started the other... well, today, we finished prepping the other and got 29 plants/shrubs put in, a new pathway and some really pretty stone edging... I've still got more plants to get, but it looks SO much better -- and there's so much color now! yeah!! (and somehow Dan got 18 holes in... thank goodness he was a wonderful DH and come home and helped me afterwards!! )

How's everyone doing this evening?

OK, ok, didn't get to that until after I posted wondering where you were! Sounds like you had a great time!

I didn't realize about Fantasia Gardens. We went there at night so that might have been the reason I was under the impression there were no buses. And technically there aren't actual buses, but sounds like you can walk from the Swan. I still would rather take the bus right up to the entrace of BB and have the course right there, but whatever you guys wanna do. I have never done the W/S but heard it's really good. We liked FG, it was fun, and interesting. Nothing spectacular, but pretty fun.

So the Wings won tonight!! WOO HOO! One more game and we're Stanley Cup champions! My brother called and said they have tickets to Game 5 :( Those are the times that make me miss home. We would be having such a great time if Mike and I were there right now. That city is amazing around hockey playoff time, it truly is "Hockeytown"

So, I'm off to bed, allergies are really bothering me tonight. Do you think it's the fact that we have 9 animals in the house right now with the foster babies? Yikes. They go back on Thurs so only a few more days and I'll only be back to 7 :D

The presentation was really good! Interesting to see just how they do some things and how they plan for some things. The final video made me cry Disney tears (you know, the same ones that surface during Wishes, IllumiNations, and the old Kodak intro to HISTA). Crush even came to the Festival and they had a special presentation of Turtle Talk. We got some Disney swag :D including a really nice Imagineering spiral notebook. Oh, and we saw Lucky the Dinosaur!

Can you find out if Mufasa is there?
You know, I thought about it but not knowing his real name I felt a bit weird. There were three male CMs and two women CMs (one of the women was from the Computer Programming area and the other was the director of Conservation Biology at the MK). One of the men was the MC and I didn't get what department he was from, another talked about Acoustics (that part was cool) and the third showed us how they do fireworks.

Good morning all.... yesterday was indeed a great day. Not only did we spend time with the GK's, we also spent time with my Mom and Dad. She is doing so well but starting to get frail.

We took an apple pie (bought) and had it with vanilla ice cream. Then we took a short ride before the birthday party.

Princess Madison turned 7 and is getting to be such a little lady. She also had a surprise for me. She took me upstairs to the music studio and sat down at my son's drum set and started playing a rock beat her dad taught her and she was pretty good. I thought Joshua would be the next generation of drummers but I was surprised.

Madison and the rest of the family insisted that Grandpa play for them and for the first time in about three years, I sat down and played. All the kids started dancing to the beat and I played for about ten minutes. I was a little rusty, but it felt really good to play again. Guess I'll have to set mine up again.

I think we'll stay with Winter Summerland for our golf tourney ! :D

OK, just my :twocents: : Fantasia Gardens is closer to at least two of the parks, in case anyone wants to hit the parks before mini golf. Also - if plans are to head to UK afterward, Fantasia would be MUCH closer - a quick walk through the Swan, and a short boat ride right to the International Gateway! My vote would be Fantasia, but will go with whatever the group decides.

Has Grandpa been encouraging her to play?

I was so busy helping set up the stage (http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563660613GfOCZN), helping sew some of the costumes and then rehearsing a last time before we went on, that I really did forget to hand him the camera. I didn't even see him after the show because I had to run change clothes, tear down the stage and we(the performers) went out for a drink and a bite to eat. Next year I really want to work on the costumes. I might be designing and sewing a permanent backdrop for the dance studio.

 ...well, not a real putting area, but he goes out and chips a lot... Julia loves being his "ball girl". I think this year she'll be going out on the course with him... they're both looking forward to it!

Today we mulched everything... well, almost... used about 10 bags of "cheap" mulch for ground cover and another 10 bags of good mulch on top... and it wasn't close to enough. Sigh... looks like I should've taken out stock in the gardening industry this year... ;)

(Can you all believe we're mere days away from being able to do our ADR's?? If I had more room for smilies, I'd do a whole bunch of jumping up and down and "whoo hoo'ing" ones... )

So, how was Sunday for everyone? Church felt EARLY this morning after yesterday, but still felt good to be there. We worked outside most of the afternoon, and are super pleased with how everything is coming together. If we ever consider ourselves "done", I'll post a few pics!

Red wine or sam adams (in the USA). In the UK it is any wine, as long as it is red (as Henry Ford is reputed to have said, not?)

What is everyone else's favorite drink?

I like Pina Calavas from Victoria's at AKLand
Sangria in Mexico.

Oh gosh so much to catch up on...here goes nothin'....and hello by the way :mickey:

So we finally have confirmed dates for December!

Yay that's exciting. I can't wait to meet you!

So - Emma got her first call from a boy yesterday afternoon... that's right, at 6yrs old... okay, she'll be 7 in June, but still!!

Wow that's so cute....he does sound like a nice little lad. So will you let her go watch him play? :soccer:

So just checking in to drop off some peanut butter cookies I made last night. PB with a hershey kiss on the top...YUM!!

Nice job Sarah, those are one of my faves! An all American classic. Are there any left?

And....Jasper...This must really be hard on you. I think you're doing a wonderful job of staying positive and doing the best that you can! Hang in there

:ditto:

The only problem is that people without a car would have to take a taxi to Fantasia Gardens, no bus. At least somewhere you could catch a bus to BB and get to W/S. I'm not sure if we're renting a car, but like I said before, I'm sure a few of us are staying at POP. Maybe we could all rent a taxi together, or someone has a car?

I'll have a car...:drive: and you're welcome to hitch a ride if you need it.

 Hi everyone!!! Just got home from recital and going out with the girls!!! We did great!!!!

Congratulations on your performance. Wish I coulda joined in ;)

The final video made me cry Disney tears (you know, the same ones that surface during Wishes, IllumiNations, and the old Kodak intro to HISTA)

Oh yes.....lots of goosebumps too I'm sure. That sounded so fun though!!

Happy June JQ! I finally get to say "this month I'm going to Disney World!" Isn't that exciting? For those of you counting down with me, 12 days! :mickey:

You're almost to the single digit dance!!!

So who would be up for a casual meet for lunch/snacks and drinks at the Cantina in Mexico?

I'd love to. The Cantina is great.

I'm glad you all had such lovely weekends. It was 96 today......the heat is here to stay I think though it's storming now and it's nice in that stormy kind of way. I'm off to make dinner.....

A bit of a paraphrase, but close enough (he said 'black'). When are we going to start guessing where Figaro's been? (Not that I ever get any of them.)

I did a little woodworking today. DW wanted a pegged towel holder with a shelf for the upstairs bath so I made her one out of bits and pieces I had in the shop. She's going to paint it before I put it up. Also started carving a duplicate of an 'old salt' I made out of a fence post some time back. When it's done, I plan to put it in the booth and see if it sells.

Do you mean right now? Because, I could really go for it right now!

Ditto! :D

Would you believe I have never done lunch in the Cantina? As long as I don't have to drink a margarita I'm up for it.
:faint:

What is everyone else's favorite drink?

I'd have to say :marg:... although there are quite a few tropical drinks that I have no idea the name of that were pretty awesome, too...

Wow that's so cute....he does sound like a nice little lad. So will you let her go watch him play? :soccer:

...though it's storming now and it's nice in that stormy kind of way. I'm off to make dinner.....
Possibly, we'll see how the summer goes...

I feel the same way about storms!! As long as it's not threatening to take my roof off or drop a tree limb through my house, I love it when the thunder & lightening roll in... and a good, big snowstorm (that I don't have to go out in...;)) is fun, too...

I did a little woodworking today. DW wanted a pegged towel holder with a shelf for the upstairs bath so I made her one out of bits and pieces I had in the shop.
You have one lucky DW.... do you take mail orders?? :D

So, how'd the weekend finish up for everyone? We're just kind-of bopping around the house, doing this 'n that, enjoying not having anything pressing to accomplish this evening! Not glad tomorrow is Monday (sorry, pogo ) as I'm working 4 12hr nights in a row, starting tomorrow... my fault, I scheduled myself that way.... but still... I'll be glad when it's over with!

How's the week looking for everyone else??

I think my favorite drink is the frozen :marg: margarita (lime version, none of the fruity sweet varieties), but it's not very good for me (too many carbs, plus I like the salt  ).

Not sure if you've noticed, but there's been a Frankie sighting (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=134815). Do you think that if we talk about him that he'll come ask a question?

How's the week looking for everyone else??

Busy, busy, busy! My project is due at the end of the week, and there is no way I'm going to be done with it, but I still have to try to get as much of it done as I can. :(

I somewhat of a Pina Colada person myself. I'm such a lightweight now. I did all my drinking in my 20s when I lived in Hawaii so I'm pretty much over it. Unfortunately the smell of tequila makes me

Nice job Sarah, those are one of my faves! An all American classic. Are there any left?

Thank you and thank you!! You're the best. Well I'll only hitch a ride if you stay at POP, if not I'll just get the bus or a taxi if I'm crunched for time. Do they have taxis that wait outside the resorts or do I need to call one?

So today was very boring, we rested most of the day. Mike was up late last night and up early this morning so he was up for some resting. It was REALLY hot here today 96ish and it wasn't a fit day to be out doing anything. Mike is watching the WEC fight right now and I'm talking to you all!! Mostly posting in the Locker Room to rub in the fact that my Wings are 1 game away from the Staley Cup!! WOO HOO!!

Talk to you all later, have a great night

What is everyone else's favorite drink?

Mine would be sugar free cherry kool-aid. I don't drink any alcohol.

Busy day around here. We had a Vacation Bible School meeting after church this morning, then I had to work a few hours. We had someone call in sick to work today so while I was hostessing a party:party: I also had to cover the snackbar. Luckily there weren't too many food orders during the party time.

Had a church business meeting this evening. Our church is growing and we are starting to look into buying a larger church building to move into.

Also had to meet with the Vacation Bible School director privately to go over the registration process. Busy but very productive day.

Can the rest of the week be just as productive?

Got some leftover :pizza: if anyone wants any.

Figaro has a new picture up now.

Did you know he never actually said Black? When the cars were first produced they were available in several colors, none of which was black. :D We have a TV show in the UK called QI (quite interesting) which comes up with all sorts of trivia like that explaining why what you thought you knew was wrong!

Nice day today...... high of 76 F and :sun: and the weatherman is forecasting 87 F by Friday. We'll have to wait and see on that.

I'll be in and out of the office today.... work, work, work ! You know what I mean. ;)

Howdy! I tried to post yesterday.. had a nice long chatty post all typed up.. stupid computer wouldn't let me post. So I'll try again this AM...
Had a long and tiring weekend. STRONG and SEVERE storms blew thru Friday night so it was actually 3:30AM Saturday before we were able to go to sleep. Had to get up at 5am to give our doggie his medicine, then had to get up for good at 7:30 to get ready for our church auction. Woke up Sunday thinking it was Monday... I did manage to go see Prince Caspian and WOW! What an AWESOME movie! And Caspian is such a HUNK! :cloud9: I could stare into his eyes all day!

Anyway... Nat.. sorry to hear about Matt's predictament.. here's some :pixie::pixie: for him and for you!

Pogo - good luck on the golf course today! (you did say you were working - right? :fresh:

Frankie - you are missed!

Mikki - I read in your trip report that you met the HUNKY Prince Caspian! Could you please post a picture of him for me? I would be forever grateful!

If I missed anything/anyone's important news/etc I'm sorry...just did a very fast skim thru. HUGS to everyone (even you Pogo :fresh:)

So - is everybody ready for Monday? I'm not... feeling a bit tired this morning, not really looking forward to all the running around I have to do today. Just might need to perk myself up with a stop at the Disney Store, just to "window shop"... :)

I was seriously hoping Disney was going to post all the hours today... sigh... I wonder just how long this is going to take them?? I've been crossing my fingers (and toes) that it wouldn't affect us December folks, but it looks like it might... :(

Okay, gotta run... hope you all have a really nice day today... I'll catch ya when I'm back home again!

(PS: Frankie, if you're listening/watching -- come back -- we've missed you! :D)

I'm still up. I'm certainly happy about being on the boy's parent end of that scenario than the girl's parent end. Is that wrong? No -- I feel for parents of daughters! We have a big responsibility though...right? The whole respect spiel. Can't start them too soon!

The result is that people are constantly trying to support her and making comments like "gee, this must really be difficult for you." Or "How do you handle everything so well." Now I do realize it is not easy for her to live with all this and many wives would have bailed out of the marriage long ago. But you know, just once I would like one of those people to walk up to me and say "gee, this must really be difficult for you!" I understand you Jasper. My mom is completely disabled with her RA. She has been severely afflicted for my entire life, yet she continued to work part time, raise her 4 kids and be an active member in her community. 7 years ago, she had her leg amputated below the knee due to some artritic complications -- and she is absolutely 250% disabled now -- but she never complains or gets angry or anything. My retired father, who is a nice guy, but who was able to be a successful businessman due to my mother keeping things going at home has gazillions of people (including my mother in law) CONSTANTLY telling him that he's just incredible for doing the cooking and the laundry. I shake my head. My mom would love to be able to do things for herself, but that's not how it is..... I wonder if the amazement would be the same if the tables were turned?? Ain't that what for better or for worse is all about?? Kudos to your wife for being there... and Kudos to you for keeping it going. Chin up Jasper. I think you are a real trooper, and you regularly make me chuckle. Did you get those nets on yet?

 Hi everyone!!! Just got home from recital and going out with the girls!!! We did great!!!! Congratulations Sister!

I want Brian to make one out of a straw broom for Euan's "Mickey in his blue hat" bedroom. I had him make one using a hockey stick and dowels for Harry's room -- and it's both really handy and pretty cool!

I'll post the pics as soon as they come to me. I think everyone is quite exhausted yet. A lot of the girls were up until 3 am Sat morning still sewing their costumes. Then we all went out to eat afterwards, I left at 11:30 and they were still out. I know I was pretty tired yesterday, but I kept going.

Don't ask about today though!! The workmen are already here working on the house. I was planning on scrapbooking and since one of the problem area is right outside the scrapbooking studio, I brought my stuff upstairs.

A question I can answer!!!!:D

Make sure your eggs are at room temperature, don't overbeat...too much air is a bad thing, and last but not least, when it's done baking, open the oven just a crack and let it cool inside the oven for at least an hour. I have a cheesecake cookbook that says to do this and after I started doing these things I haven't had any cracks or craters. Does that help any? (I make killer cheesecakes!!! So, does anyone want to feel really old? I just heard on the radio that Jerry Mathers (The Beaver from Leave it to Beaver) turns 60 years old today! Hard to believe isn't it?

Is anyone else glad to hear that the primary season is FINALLY coming to a close this week? Now that is not intended as a political comment for or against either party but I just really get tired of hearing about it ALL the time. I would love to see a law passed that required all the states to hold their primary/caucus on the same day! I realize that is not going to happen anytime in the near future but we can always dream can't we?

And....Jasper...This must really be hard on you. I think you're doing a wonderful job of staying positive and doing the best that you can! Hang in there

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I try to keep a stiff upper lip as the British saying goes but as anyone with chronic health issues can tell you there are times when you just lose your cool.

I sat down somewhere around 7 to work on some crosswords and just woke up a little bit ago. Glad I woke up in time to go to bed, aren't you?

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one that does this!:D

Hi everyone!!! Just got home from recital and going out with the girls!!! We did great!!!! The more experienced girls said we did really good and our dance was great. When the pictures start to come in, I'll post a few pictures. Could you believe I forgot to give Gilles the camera before I left this morning and when he got to the show?

So glad to hear that it went well!! :clappy: Of course we wouldn't have expected anything else from you!

So the Wings won tonight!! WOO HOO! One more game and we're Stanley Cup champions!

OK, I am glad to hear from a hockey fan because I saw something in the news that I don't understand. Apparently a fan of the Detroit Red Wings threw an octopus onto the ice just after the National Anthem was played at the beginning of game 4against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

What's up with that? Is there some mysterious meaning behind it?

Is my vacation really almost over?

I am convinced that there is some type of time shift that happens when you are on vacation compared with when you are at work. Vacation time ALWAY goes by four times as fast as work time!

We got some Disney swag including a really nice Imagineering spiral notebook. Oh, and we saw Lucky the Dinosaur!

I think I know exactly how you feel. And through a long illness and dealing with a chronic condition, it's impossible to be upbeat all the time! You're human, after all. Do know that we're here for you, buddy!

Thanks for your kind comments as well! I know you have been through your fair share of frustrations as well so you can really understand what I am going through.

As for the presentation, I must have missed something. Where did you see this presentation? Did you do something work related with Disney?

Today we mulched everything... well, almost... used about 10 bags of "cheap" mulch for ground cover and another 10 bags of good mulch on top... and it wasn't close to enough. Sigh... looks like I should've taken out stock in the gardening industry this year... ;)

We do the same trick of putting the cheap stuff down to create a base and then putting the good stuff on top just to make it look good. We have a really large area out front that takes 64 bags to cover the whole thing in a 2 inch layer of mulch. Needless to say we can never afford to put down that much each year so using the cheap stuff underneath REALLY helps the bill!

I did a little woodworking today. DW wanted a pegged towel holder with a shelf for the upstairs bath so I made her one out of bits and pieces I had in the shop.

Is there nothing you don't do? I am truly impressed at all the different kinds of things you do!

Chin up Jasper. I think you are a real trooper, and you regularly make me chuckle. Did you get those nets on yet?

Thank you as well! You have certainly seen what I am talking about.

Yes, we did get the nets up this weekend. Both of my sons were home and actually worked together very well to get it done. There is eight years difference in their ages and a world of difference in their interests and skills. My 19 year old has ALWAYS been a very hands on kind of person who is a natural born take charge kind of person. My 11 year old, on the other hand is the bookworm, computer geek, kind of kid who is rarely the first one to jump in and take a chance of being wrong.

Needless to say with such huge differences in age, temperament and such there is often times fire works between the two of them when they try to work together. However, this time they both seemed to really put their differences aside and worked together so well!

Of course, that could only last so long! After putting on the nets my 11 year old got on the riding mower and started mowing the yard. He was about half way done when one of the wheels sheared off the cotter pin and came off. My younger son is not strong enough to pick up the mower to set it on a block and I can't because of my back. So the entire time my 19 year old helped his little brother he grumbled and groused about how the younger one was so rough on the mower and caused the wheel problem!

I would so much love to drop the two of them off in the wilderness someplace and make them survive together for a month. Of course I am afraid to do that because I think the older one would eat the younger one for dinner!:D:D

If you have any spare work pixie dust it would be good for my DH, there's a strong chance he might be laid off in two weeks. Timing is everything isn't it?

Here's hoping that something happens and you and he are spared this. :pixie::pixie: I know these things always work out for the best but why is it they always seem to happen at the worst possible times?

Is yours by any chance a Betty Crocker cook book? When my paternal grandmother passed away she knew that I loved to cook so she willed me her first edition illustrated Betty Crocker Cook Book.

If anyone has seen the early ones from the late 50's and early 60's you will know that they are really the greatest cook book ever made. What I found interesting is that in the section about cheese cakes it says basically exactly the same thing you say here. And, just as you said these methods really do produce some of the best cheesecake you have ever had!

On a side note I was surprised a couple of years ago to see my grandmother's cookbook on Antiques Roadshow and was amazed that it was valued at something like $5,000.00 for the high end price. Of course the one on the show was in PERFECT condition and had obviously never been used in the kitchen. Whereas, mine looks like it has been through a war. So I have to assume that mine is not worth much if anything at all. But still, it is nice to dream a little. Although I would never sell it because it came from my grandmother.

HEHEHE LOL!! :D The eight legs of the octopus represent the number of games it used to take to win the Stanley Cup (it's not eight anymore, but I digress). It has somewhat become a symbol of the Red Wings as then have adopted the octopus as somewhat of a mascot. One year the slogan was A Call To Arms, etc. So if there is one thrown on the ice before a game it's by an evil Red Wing fan just trying to let them know we're out there!! I think there was a fish market owner somewhere in Detroit that thought the octopi throwing things was a good idea. Kinda gross, but I like the idea, kinda traditional.

So clear? Sure, clear as mud, right?

It has somewhat become a symbol of the Red Wings as then have adopted the octopus as somewhat of a mascot. One year the slogan was A Call To Arms, etc. So if there is one thrown on the ice before a game it's by an evil Red Wing fan just trying to let them know we're out there!! I think there was a fish market owner somewhere in Detroit that thought the octopi throwing things was a good idea. Kinda gross, but I like the idea, kinda traditional.

So clear? Sure, clear as mud, right?

:D

Sure, but you haven't seen how murky our mud can be in these parts have you?

Seriously though I do actually get the general idea. What I failed to mention is that the guy who threw it was wearing a Detroit shirt and was thrown out of the stadium by security and told that he would be arrested if he came back to that or any other potential games for the rest of the year. So what does the guy do? He goes outside the stadium, buys a $300.00 ticket from a scalper, buys a Pittsburgh shirt to wear over his Detroit shirt and goes right back in. According to the article he didn't do anything else to draw attention to himself and never got caught coming back into the game.

The league has gotten kinda strict about it because I guess it's gross (I mean, who knew?) and it's not all the fun to clean up when it sticks to the ice. BUT, it's tradition people, get over it!! In Detroit one of the players (Chelios) actually picks them up with his hands and throws them back, it's hysterical. The rest of the players daintly pick it up with their sticks and deposit them on the side or some towel boy comes out with a shovel and picks it up!

Funny story, I called this local radio show when they were talking about that exact same thing and I told them somewhat the same explanation I just gave you and the guy host said, "maam, I think I love you!" It was hysterical, I guess it's not normal for a "girl" to know so much about hockey, but I absolutely LOVE it. We have a whole room in our house decorated with hockey stuff: Sticks, pucks, gloves, pictures, etc.

I would so much love to drop the two of them off in the wilderness someplace and make them survive together for a month. Of course I am afraid to do that because I think the older one would eat the younger one for dinner!:D:D

Is that what you call survival of the fittest?:D

What's up? It's gorgeous and hot out....the sun's shining

Now I have visions of cheesecake dancing in my head thank you very much! Interesting tips on the baking Carol. What flavor is your specialty? ... or do you usually do plain?

I'm trying to scrapbook today and it took me 3 darn hours to do a title page. Is there such a thing as a house not letting you be creative? Since we've moved, I've been having serious creativity issues..they're gone, kaput, nada.

I captured Gilles with a turtle cheesecake..lots of chocolate!! My favorite one to make is a key lime cheesecake. I don't do plain...thats too boring. Mine have to have at least 3 pkgs of cream cheese and 1 cup of sour cream and you can feel your arteries blocking as you eat it. I forgot to say I usually also have my cream cheese at room temperature.

Is yours by any chance a Betty Crocker cook book?

It's called Cheesecake Extraordinaire. It's a really good cheesecake book. I've taken then basics with it and expanded.

We have a whole room in our house decorated with hockey stuff: Sticks, pucks, gloves, pictures, etc.

One of our neighbors have hockey jerseys as their curtains. It's in the bedrooms and in the great room area. When they have their lights on at night it was like "what the?" until we figured out what they had !!

So Diane, you don't want to know that one of my cookbooks are titled Death by Chocolate and another one is Death by Chocolate Cookie, do you?

So with cheesecake recipes and chocolate recipes, who's all going to show up at my doorstep?

Your comment about not being able to figure out what the curtains were reminded me of the scene in a Christmas Story when the father gets the leg lamp and has to go outside to see what it looks like through the windows. I wonder if your neighbors did the same thing when they hung up the jerseys for curtains?

So, are you going to post your address or do we just have to follow the smell of chocolate and cheesecake?

Is yours by any chance a Betty Crocker cook book? When my paternal grandmother passed away she knew that I loved to cook so she willed me her first edition illustrated Betty Crocker Cook Book.

If anyone has seen the early ones from the late 50's and early 60's you will know that they are really the greatest cook book ever made.
My mom has one of those, and when they "re-did" them, identical to the original, she got me one... and I love it!! It's by far my favorite out of all my cookbooks, and I have a lot of them.

I should get my DH to get on here w/ you... he's a hockey lover, too, and has been since he was a little boy. He plays, although not as often as he'd like, and although "his team" is the Sabres (he's from Buffalo), he really likes the Wings, too. He's told me many funny "octopi" stories... ;)

Do you think your Monday could have gone the same place that Ken's vacation from last week went?

So, for those of you who are die-hard hockey fans is this a sport you grew up with or did you come to it as an adult? I ask this because in southern Indiana where I am from hockey is just about a foreign language!:D No one around here plays it or really even knows the rules. As you can imagine that means there are very few fans in this area. To give you some perspective, I am one of the few people I know who are life long residents of this area who have ever actually attended a hockey game. And frankly, with my lack of knowledge of the game the only thing I understood were the fistfights.

I don't know if hockey is still as brutal but the time I went to a game was in New York City when I was there on business in the early 1980's. I have read since then that hockey is supposedly not as violent as it used to be. Anyway, I am rambling now but was just curious about how most of the die-hard fans came to the game?

Whenever I think of the game I went to I am reminded of that old chestnut that says "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out."

I agree. Seems like employers don't realize what they have - or maybe they do, but too late.

Kind of a cloudy fall looking day outside. Of course the running joke here is that the weather doesn't turn nice until after Rose Festival - which is a huge event in the city that will run until June 15th. Its pretty accurate though - every year. So why don't they just move the festival earlier, so summer will come earlier?? :D

Hey my JQ family, I could really use some major pixie dust right about now or even just a hug.

My boss and his GF came into the office today at 4:50pm, now take in mind they are absent store owners, never there. She has been wanting to know my jobs for the past couple 3 or more months now, so I knew something was up. Well with the economy and all I knew something was happening. We are loosing dealers and the rent is down. After everyone has left they said that they needed to talk to me.

So starting in July they are cutting my hours. Instead of 40 hours I get 20 hours, which means that I get half of my salary. I also now will have to pay for 1/2 of my health insurance as well. I've been busting my butt in this place, I'm always there early before everyone else, making sure that everything runs smooth. They go on vacation and I go down to the store every day just to make sure that they are all set for the next day. I do the payroll and save them $$ a month since he use to have a CPA do it.

They want me to stay needless to say, but darn it how can I? She the GF kept saying how they really want me to stay and how if it picks up and we get more rent then I can go back. Now I haven't had a raise in over 3 years, probably 4 now. This is just ridiculous and the other 2 people who work for him, well I won't even go into that one.

So I could really use a hug about now because I just having a hard time.
I'm sorry to hear this Mary..... here's a  and :pixie: for you.

It's raining here also, but rain is good unless you live in a construction sight where everything is now mud. :D

Rain here too. Kind of a gloomy day. Sounds like its raining just about everywhere! Anyone seeing some sun today?

A rare day online in the AM. Yep, I'm home - but its by choice. I decided that too much stress = the need for a day off! So a relaxing day today- the house to myself, with kitties on the lap, listening to it rain. :cloud9: Anyone want some coffee? Its actually really good this morning!

Yes, but did you get a "Plays well with others"?

Congratulations.

:here: We've been having occasional rain squalls here and there for the last week or so, but it's nice and sunny right now. Above average temps, in fact, which doesn't bode well for summer.

Good morning (just) all. Mary some :pixie: for you and your job scenario..I hope it turns out to be positive for you.

Pogo more :pixie: for Joshua as well. Please do keep us updated.

Weirdly apparently I now have to like rain since I've been able to reach lots of people here with it being gloomy. Does that make me odd? And is there more coffee? I think I'll be running on caffine for quite a few more months.

Pogo any tips for the insurance exam this Thursday?

Mary, first of all, :pixie: for you! And secondly, don't even THINK of working harder to keep things running smoothly. (I know I would be all concerned about keeping everything hunky dory). You know what I mean, right?
Ellen, thanks. And yes I do know what you mean. Will do!

Mary, I'm so sorry to hear that... sending loads of :pixie: your way that things will work out for the best for you... maybe not in the way you'd imagine, but even better! Keep your chin up - they'll soon see what they're missing!

Thanks Blythe.

A quick zoop.

Sorry to hear about your employers short sightedness Mary. You were right to be wary of them. Good luck and :pixie: for finding the right way through this.

Today we are back up to Harrogate, sadly to scatter the ashes of Andrew's father. I'm pleased that his mother yesterday decided that she would come home with us for a few days as it would have been their 60th Wedding anniversary on Thursday.

Is it raining with anyone else today?

Yup, I had a feeling even back when I talked to you in April about what was or has been going on.

Glad to hear that you did bring Andrew's mother home with you. I'm sure she enjoyed the company.

o I am really bummed. DD has the National bowling tourney in Las Vegas (well actually Henderson) the weekend of July 19 & 20. We wanted to plan a driving trip for the whole family to see the sights, but now I have to be in Seattle on Monday, so thats just not possible. So DH, DD16 and I were planning on flying on Thursday, returning late Sunday. Now work has messed this up again, as an assignment is going to required alot of extra hours the week of 14-18. So now DH & DD16 are going by themselves. I may try to go Saturday am, and return Sunday night. Saturday is our anniversay, so once again we spend it apart..... Why does work always mess up my plans?

T&G sorry about your plans, I hate when that happens.

I'm always ready for the next day,but..... over the weekend, I've learned of a possible health problem for my DGS Joshua. He is coming to Rochester today for tests of a heart defect that might be serious. But my DDIL tells me it's only a precautionary test. Please send some pixie dust and prayers for Joshua.
pogo, sorry to hear about Joshua. Sending you and yours prays that he will be okay. Keep us updated.

I am sorry about this Mary! I would definitely start looking around. I would hire you in a minute -- but unfortunately, I am required to keep the niece of our big cheese employed for the time being....

Wow...... pixie dust and prayers do it again ! :yay: :clappy: :joy:

After examination and EKG by one of the best MD's in pediatric heart care, Joshua has been given a clean bill of "heart health" !

What we worried about turns out to be just a slight murmur and not a hole between the left and right ventricle as thought.

Did you all hear me breath that sigh of relief at around 11:30 ????? :faint:

So glad to hear things went well!! I have a heart murmur too and have been scared to death by doctors before when it's something I've had my whole life, nothing they can do about it.

Where are those cookies? I thought I saw them somewhere.

I got them right here!! Double chocolate/chocolate chip!! I'm sorry I didn't say sooner sorry for your trouble  I was wrapped up in the Red Wing game and didn't check things until today. Where do you work? I'm sure you've gone over this but I don't know what everyone does. Hang in there and know we support you.

How is everyone's Tuesday? I'm pooped. Between triple overtime LOSS  last night and Mike waking me up at 3:00 am freaking out about some email we received, I didn't get much sleep last night. Thank goodness my doctor has an appt of her own this afternoon so we are ending at 3:00 :)

So I got this weird voice mail from the foster coordinator at the shelter about the kittens. It was something like bring them in on Thursday for a check up, if they can go for surgery we'll do that, if not, they'll go to another foster home, etc. I was like WOAH, I don't want them to go to a new home, I want to keep them until they are ready to be put up for adoption, etc. So confusing  I'm a little worried that Stripe might not be heavy enough to go for surgery yet. I'm pretty sure they have to be 2 pounds and she's only 1.8. So unless she gets 2 more ounces by Thurs she'll have to wait another week. It will be sad because they will split them up and let Spot go for surgery and adoption and I would take Stripe back for another week. Kinda sad :( I'll keep you all posted!

Take care all, talk to you later!!

So starting in July they are cutting my hours. Trying to making sure that everything runs smooth.
So I could really use a  about now because I just having a hard time.

I realize things seem dark right now but trust me when I say it will work out somehow, it always does and often times for the better! I was a Human Resource Professional for about 15 years and unfortunately had to downsize other people and then found myself downsized after having done all the dirty work for my superiors. Anyway, I will give you the same basic advice I gave to so many others; first go out and have yourself a good cry, a good drunk or whatever else you do to "celebrate" bad news. Then sit down and make a list of everyone you know in your field of work and put them in order of those you think can do the most to help you find employment down to those you think can do the least for you. Then start contacting those people and let them know that you are looking and ask them if they can help you in finding out who might have openings. There are really only three reasons I have seen this not pay off - the first is when the person being let go really isn't qualified anyway - second when the person being let go drug their feet before contacting the people they know - and third when there really were just not any jobs of that type available in the particular area.

Here is some :pixie::pixie:to help you get through!

P.S. Should I send them an Italian Valentine?

Is an Italian Valentine a horse head in the bed?

Why don't you check with Pogo - he's got his own biz

It's a bit of a gray, rainy afternoon here, too... but I think it's just preparing us for this weekend, when it's supposed to be 90 on Friday, and high 80's Sat/Sun. Yuck!!! (I know I shouldn't complain after how cool and rainy May was, but I prefer cool over high heat... temps like that just drain me. :() And of course, this is the weekend our town has their "Olde Home Days", and we'll be outside enjoying them all weekend... phew!! :whew:

How's the day going for everyone? Any exciting dinner plans? None here... just pork chops and side dishes yet to be chosen...

So does anyone want some humidity? We were suppose to have rain most of the day and temperatures around 80. Instead we got off and on heavy rain with periods of sunshine. While the sunshine was nice to see when it was here all it really did for us was to run the temperature up and bake the moisture out of the ground which then created nasty humidity.

I have been helping at my wife's store this afternoon and there was one older lady that came in who could barely breath because her asthma was kicked into high gear because of the intense humidity. Needless to say I really felt for her!

This morning DS woke up in a snit and accused me of being a mean mom because I didn't allow him to "choose" what days he goes to school (apparently, he's the only one who has to go to school every day ... yeah, right). The original schedule said CP breakfast on Friday AM, and Mini golf - or as I was corrected today - "The Golf Tournament" on Saturday about 11:00 followed by a pint. (By the way, Pogo DID say he is NOT going to pony up the $15,000 for a hole-in-one - sorry Dan! :D

I'm OK with this, or flip the days, whichever works for the most people. I do think that spreading them over two days makes sense, since some that may not be able to make it one day, might join in on the other. I also like having breakfast as a group and then taking in MK as a group and/or smaller groups as you like.

So I guess it comes down to what ya'll think. Who wants the original days (above) and who wants to flip them? And who doesn't care?

Ellen - we are tentatively going to MVMCP on the 14th. Will know soon for sure!

My feelings on this is split up the mornings activities into two days. Do CP on Friday and spend the day at MK doing group rides.

Saturday, we would meet at 11:00 at Winter Summerland for the JQ Golf tourney and go to Epcot after for a pint or :marg: in Mexico.

We can do the Osbourne Lights either night.

The original schedule said CP breakfast on Friday AM, and Mini golf - or as I was corrected today - "The Golf Tournament" on Saturday about 11:00 followed by a pint.

Hmmm... I guess I would choose to have the golf on Friday, as it'll be a late night for some of us on Thursday, and bkfst at CP on Saturday. Again... open to whatever, that's just my vote....

You can have the chlorine too.... we don't live that far away.

:)... thanks for the reminder! We might just take you up on that before August...

So- has anybody besides me printed out the hours and spent time pouring over them? (Okay, I printed them, but haven't had time to look at them yet... that'll be about 3 am.... ;))

Reading Christine's (Hammer) dining review of Biergarten, I got to thinking that it would be a fun thing for us to do instead of the pint. What do y'all think?

That sounds fun too...... can we all stop by the UK for a pint ????..... then walk to Biergarten for another drink ????..... then off to Mexico for a :marg: ????? :faint:

I wasn't trying to change any plans, just trying to straighten things out with Amy who is my master-planner

I know Sis1...... I know.

I vote for all three... plus a Grey Goose slushie in France... :tasty:

So - anybody else good with Friday being the golf day and Saturday being the CP breakfast? Are you guys still doing Osborne lights on Friday? Seems like the hours might indicate that DHS closes early on Wed., which is when Pop Warner was there last year... I guess Friday was previous years... anybody have any idea how we can know for sure?

My feelings on this is split up the mornings activities into two days. Do CP on Friday and spend the day at MK doing group rides.

Saturday, we would meet at 11:00 at Winter Summerland for the JQ Golf tourney and go to Epcot after for a pint or :marg: in Mexico.

We can do the Osbourne Lights either night.
What do you all think ?????
Sounds good. Although I still hold out hope for Fantansia Gardens, since it is closer to Epcot, where we would be heading afterwards....

Ellen and Cindy.
We are leaving the AM of the 14th, so that why we are doing the 11th.

And we are planning a red eye flight on the 10th, arriving with no sleep on the 11th. Actually, I really want to go on the 11th, but not sure we could hold out that late. Hmmmm, have to think about that one. Sleep is kind of overrated, right Blythe? :D

Pretend you're recommending someone else. What would you say then?
Now THATS an idea.....too bad I got the worst part of it written today (or actually the BEST part ).

Absolutely! (Actually, I have to admit, I didn't do well when Dan & I flew down in October on not much sleep and staying up late... we flew out of Syracuse at 6am, so we were up at 3:30 and by 11pm, I was toast... )

BUT!! That being said... I'd vote for you and your DH taking a little nap and joining us on the 11th... the more, the merrier! We'd love to see you guys there!! :D

Unfortunately, DW and I are still pretty iffy about December. A lot of little things are working against us. We'll probably have to play it by ear for quite a while.

I went for my pre-op physical before the cataract surgery today and the Dr. put me on high blood pressure meds. Guess I should have expected it the way I've been packing it on. DW and I are looking at it as a wake-up call to cut back, pronto. The hard part is going to be cutting out the ice cream and, dare I say it?, the cookies. :(

I think my body will thank me in the long run and I'll probably feel a lot better overall.

Who else has cheery news? :D

We don't arrive until late on the 11th. Anyone want to come by WL for a drink (or hot cocoa) after MVMCP? If we go to the party, it will have to be on the 14th. Anyone else going that night?

I would love to see WL and meet for some cocoa. I arrive on the 10th.

My feelings on this is split up the mornings activities into two days. Do CP on Friday and spend the day at MK doing group rides.

See my idea and tell us if it makes sense ! :D

The reason behind having breakfast at CP was so we could all spend time at MK together. If we have the golf tourney after CP it won't happen. :(

You make sense??? NAH!! ;) I like the idea of splitting it up, that way we can spend some time in the MK hanging out. There will be some mousefest things I will want to go to in the MK that day too.

SO, can I just say I'm getting SOOOOO excited about this :joy: We are going to have so much fun. Can someone post the list of people again? Also, who is going to make the ADR for CP? Any way we could all (or most of us) get on a chat like n AOL or something and decide. I show that ADRs for the 10th on can be made on 6/13. I don't know who's going to be there the soonest but they should make the ADR for Friday or Saturday accordingly. I can do it if you all want to get me a date and a #, or put me down (actually put 2 down in case I let Mike come). I am definately going to try to make the golf game, but like I said before, I have to check on the mega mouse meet schedule as I really need to check that out!!

OK, totally geeked out now....btw, Pogo, do you still have my cell phone # or should I PM it to you again? We should all try to stay in contact the best we can.

Oh, and can I make another suggestions? What if we put one of us in charge of the schedule. That person can see from all of the posts here what people's preferences are and come up with a schedule. Everyone seems to be pretty amenable to whatever, whenever if they can make it, so we should make it *somewhat* concrete. Just a suggestion, I can be that person if you like, but I think Tom is the better person. He's been head planner for most of this and knows you all the best. It will just be here before you know it and we should have a few set things we're going to meet for so people could plan accordingly.

Ok, so I have blabbed on endlessly and now I'm off to bed. Take care all  night night

I really respect those that can provide the pet foster homes. I could never do it, cause I'd get to attached to the critters and not want to give them back!

I am just the same as you! If I started being a Pet Foster home I would end up with more animals than I would know what to do with them all!

Okay... here's pixie for Mikki and family, Mary, Jasper, Matt and Pogo (special post-anxiety pd).

Pretend you're recommending someone else. What would you say then?

Thanks for the good thoughts and well wishes!

Milestones like this are important when a loved one passes away so be sure you and Ben both take the time to recognize the day and then do something that makes you both feel better. (Within the limits of work and life in general.)

Isn't it fun dealing with all the legal stuff? My Father-in-Law passed away this past December and my Mother-in-Law passed away several years ago. Between the two of them they really had their estate planned out just about as well as anyone could and the executor is still struggling with about a half dozen major and minor issues in trying to get everything resolved!

Since I was a Human Resource Professional for about 15 years I used to get a lot of people asking me how to write resumes because they struggled with exactly the kind of things you are talking about. This suggestion of pretending that you are recommending someone else with the same skills and background was almost ALWAYS a winner!

I don't know which would be harder, to be iffy about going in December like you are or knowing for sure that you can't go like we are!

So is this the first time you have ever been on blood pressure meds.? If it is you really are doing good!

There is a tremendous amount of coronary artery disease and high blood pressure in my Father's side of the family. As a result I have been getting checked regularly since I was a teenager and was already on blood pressure meds by the time I was 21. So even though you may not like the idea of having to go on the meds you should really count yourself as lucky if you are just now having to start the meds!

Of course, I don't have any really good ideas on how to give up the cookies and ice cream. I am not suppose to eat them but I still find myself cheating from time to time!

We don't talk about that with outsiders.

Not us. I think we're going to boycott the 20% ticket price increase. Think it'll make a difference?

Me, an outsider??? How dare you say!! I have been on these boards since 1999!:D

Soooo.... does anyone wanna guess what I did yesterday? I went to the doctor. And am back on antibiotics.. this time because I sliced my arm on Sunday and it's infected. I've been on antibiotics so much this year that my doct had to check with another doct on what she could safely give me... anyone else think I need to wear full body armour and live in a plastic bubble?

I'm too tired to try to catch up. Did not sleep well last night.. actualy haven't had a good night sleep in over a week now. Last night we had our tornado sirens sounding every 10 to 15 minutes from about 8:30 until midnight. Very bad and scary weather...

Let's hope that you either quit doing things that need antibiotics or hope they invent some much stronger ones! It is very possible to build up a resistance to antibiotics and then all they can really do is take you off all of them for an extended period of time. I don't remember what the length of time is required to be off of them once resistance does happen but I am pretty sure it is at least 12 month or more. So, can you just go hibernate someplace where there are no germs for about 12 months?

Good Luck and here is some :pixie::pixie: for you!!

I have to agree with Pogo here. The point of choosing CP was that it is in the MK and you'd be ready to roll after you eat. Wouldn't it be hard to leave right after???

I agree and I would definitely like to meet in a chatroom if our schedules allow it. Do you think we could pick a time that would work for everyone's time zones/work schedule???

Also....I know a lot of you are planning your individual ADRs.......if anyone is still interested in meeting for dinner please let me know by next THURS!!!!

Agreed on CP for Friday. Anyone else up for a chat room chat?? I would LOVE to meet for dinner, tell me where and when and count two of us in!! Also, we should meet while you're here in NM. PM me and we'll make some kinda plans!

I am just the same as you! If I started being a Pet Foster home I would end up with more animals than I would know what to do with them all!

I have 7, is that enough? With the foster babies, that makes 9 at my house right now. Can anyone say ZOO???

No..... golf is at Winter Summerland as planned. :D
Sounds good....so CP Friday for breakfast the hang out at MK. Golf on Saturday with possibly to EPCOT afterwards for fun and spirits.

Count me in on both accounts (well and maybe Mike too!)

Great, since I am so pitiful an miniature golf, I get to shave 25 strokes off my score. Thanks for agreeing!:D

I went to my endocrinologist today.

I had to have more blood work and go back in a month.

What have you all been doing today?

Today is Lauren's last day of sophomore year. Hard to believe she's halfway through high school already. Even she said it's just going too fast.
My oldest DD finished her sophomore year next week. She also says its going too fast. Of course DH is already starting to mourn her leaving home - she's definitely a Daddy's girl!

Anyone confused on the plans for December?
 I had thought that we were flipping the days, so that the Thurs night MVMCP goers could make it easier? If we do minigolf on Friday, then they have until 11:00am to make it.

DEC Meet Stuff:

Has a decision been made on Saturday's Epcot dinner location?? It's almost time for ADRs.

We're going to Kona for lunch on Friday if anyone wants to join us, say the word.

And we're doing Fantasia Gardens now?? How about lunch/pints at Rose and Crown about 2P?
See? Even Jym says Fantasia!!

No..... golf is at Winter Summerland as planned. :D
:shake:

So...is it OK to have mini golf on Friday, and CP breadfast on Saturday???
Since Epcot is open late on Friday, and MK is open late on Saturday, it should be good, huh? But I'm used to being ignored, so whatever works for most. :D

Regardless of days, I think the plan is to head to Epcot after golf, and drink and munch and drink and munch our way around the world. :D On the other day, after breakfast at CP, group rides would be a must!

Personally? I think we will be at Epcot on Friday evening - probably dinner at Rose&Crown, followed by Illuminations!

Can we confirm the days?
Who is making the ADR for CP - and for how many, and what time?

That sounds fun too...... can we all stop by the UK for a pint ????..... then walk to Biergarten for another drink ????..... then off to Mexico for a :marg: ?????

That would work also..... I'd hate to see both events to take place on the same morning. :D
I second that motion... but, Pogo dear, if you do a pint and then a beer in Germany and then a margarita in Mexico, will you need my scooter? (But then again, there are probably rules against drinking and scootering ;) ).

Hmmm... munchies... like nachos in Mexico... brats in Germany... chips in the UK... desserts in France...
I dunno.. I was hoping that DS would behave in Germany.

That's not the best of news, Ken, but losing as little as 10% of your body weight is going to make a huge difference in the way you feel and will help you get off that bp medication or contribute to them lowering the dosage.

I think Ellen volunteered to make the CP ADR.... right Ellen ?
No, Ellen volunteered to call and found out about the Grand Gatherings. If we WERE to do a CP group ADR, I need have a good idea of the headcount now; it has to be within the first 45 minutes they're open AND everyone has to be there to be seated. I'm totally in favor of an 8:05 ADR for Saturday at the MK. I'd rather go early, early on a Saturday anyway. Are we game for this? Or should we all make reservations for tables larger than we actually need, with the idea that more people will be joining us at our tables (this is what we did for our dinner prior to MNSSHP last October).

Anyway.. hugs and pixie dust to anyone that needs them!
Back atcha! and sterile :pixie:

Can anyone grant me an extra dose of patience tomorrow afternoon? After treatment, I'm heading over to the Consulate to revoke a Power of Attorney and grant a new one to my lawyer in Central America. I was thinking Coral Reef for the Saturday night dinner that Pogo thinks doesn't exist.

From the old thread:

Saturday evening: Dinner / may I suggest dinner someplace at EPCOT (but not China or Morocco), how about Garden Grill so we can get a character meal together? That way we can go see IllumiNations together (the holiday version is wonderful).
That's where I got the Saturday dinner thing.

Munching around Epcot after golf on Friday sounds good... I think we're planning on Le Cellier and the Candlelight Processional for the evening. (not sure... I don't have my list here with me...)

Not sure what we'll join in with after CP on Saturday... Dan might be golfing, which if he is, we'll stick with the group rides... if not, I'm not sure where we might be headed?

How do you do?.....oh the excitement builds for our December plans. I think the head possumator is officially in charge now.

Join?
Earlier?
Are we talking about the same thing?
I was thinking Coral Reef for the Saturday night dinner that Pogo thinks doesn't exist.

I'm thinking we can get about 14 in close proximity right in front of the tank. If there are more than that, we may be able to get the Seven Seas Room. I, uh, know a guy.

Doesn't accommodated have two "m"s?

Yes Jym we were talking about the same thing! That would rock if you could hook us up. I don't even know what the Seven Seas Room is!!! I think I'm officially handing over the ADR making to you :D

So what's good today folks?

Does anyone listen to WDWradio? My sister became a celebrity on the latest show.....well...her email was read at the end.

I've got fresh coffee and cinnamon rolls with icing for everyone....come and get 'em.

I forgot to mention that the dude in the photo I posted was me at the tender age of 22. I think that qualifies as an antique photo by now, doesn't it?

I think I've gotten a case of vertigo trying to keep up with all the planning. By the way, if DW and I do get to come, we'll likely have two of our grandchildren with us.

Can someone explain this thread to me ???:confused::confused:
I'm so confused !!!
:clappy: Hey Frankie! Great to see you! Any diversions to share?

I am really wanting to come to WDW in December now! Alas, finances and vacation days make it an unattainable dream. :(

Anyone going to be in Disneyland at the end of July? :mickey:

:ditto:

I'm trying to round up the stragglers. I've sent emails/pms to the people we've haven't heard from lately...Greg, Michelle, Jared...(Jared told me he would talk to Bethany) and instructed them to PM pogo.

Everyone enjoying their Thursday so far?

Where's Scott with his countdown?

Sorry FGM -- not this time. Between you and me and our friends here on board, Brian and I just purchased some DVC at the Boardwalk (We closed on Monday!), so any potentially extra money we had has now passed to some people in the UK. Hopefully another time. We had fun at the Anniversary Meet, didn't we? That Illuminations meet was the penultimate! As far as bunking with someone goes -- you know that I come with a lot of baggage, don't you? I couldn't leave my guys behind. They would disown me. All of them. Then I'd be very lonely. :(

OK, so I PMd Pogo and let him know we're in! One question though, MK doesn't open on the
13th untill 9:00, are we going to be able to get a 8:00 ADR? and, what time are we planning dinner at the Coral Reef that night? Ok, I guess that was two questions! :D The Mega Mouse Meet is from 1-3 on Friday so I should make golf too!! How exciting, I'm having a hard time sitting still! I think I'm going to try to get an ADR at Le Cellier on Sunday the 14th, PM me if anyone is interested in going.

Can't wait to see you all, this is going to be fun!! Talk to you all later

..........

So far..... all yes votes to the plan ! Some people have indicated they would not be doing everything, but their opinion was the plan was a yes.

At this point, I think it's safe to say that if you want to have dinner at Coral Reef, you can PM Jym. He's agreed to take care of the reservations for that. He will need a head count to make the ressies.

Thanks Ellen, and yes I would like that we could meet for Osbourne Lights on Friday night. Sounds like a plan.

I would also like to meet you for Osbourne Lights after we leave Epcot.... isn't it why I bought park hoppers ???? :D

Yes Jym we were talking about the same thing! That would rock if you could hook us up. I don't even know what the Seven Seas Room is!!! I think I'm officially handing over the ADR making to you.
I spoke with Jym by telephone this AM and he agreed to make the ADR. Thanks for your help getting this rolling. :D

I couldn't see the photo.... it was a sign in for yahoo !

I really hope you can make it my friend ! I want another  from Mary ! And the more the merrier.

December hours are showing that the studios are open until 8pm. Does that mean we can add Osbourne lights to our Friday programme? I've sent Pogo a pm saying a general yes to the plans. I haven't checked out the mousefest programme yet but I don't think they are as far advanced as we are. If there is a pin trading meet i might briefly desert you! I'll send Jym a pm shortly when I find one of his posts for a shortcut to his pm. I think I had lunch in the room he is talking about when I went on the Disney course for managing for creativity and innovation a few years ago.
