Interesting! I have not really followed the parks outside the States as closely, but I am surprised that there aren't more attractions like Space Mountain at all the parks.

May 23, 1910 – Character actor Scatman Grothers, the voice of Scat Cat in Disney’s 1970 release “The Aristocats”, was born in Terre Haute, Indiana.
May 23, 1922 – Walt Disney incorporated his Kansas City cartoon company, Laugh-O-Gram Film.
May 23, 1929 – Disney’s Mickey Mouse short “The Karnival Kid” was released. It features Mickey speaking his very first words: “Hot dogs!”
May 23, 1931 – Disney’s Silly Symphony cartoon “The China Plate” was released.
May 23, 1955 – Fourteen year old Tim Considine signed a $400-a-week contract to play “Spin” in Disney’s “Spin and Marty” TV serial.
May 23, 1958 – Comedian-actor Drew Carey, star of Disney’s 2000 TV Special “Geppetto” and the Disney-MGM attractions “Sounds Dangerous”, was born in Cleveland, Oh.
May 23, 1982 – Disney’s syndicated TV show “Computers Are People, Too!” aired.
May 23, 1983 – Disneyland’s new Fantasyland opened. The children of the original kids that 1st crossed the drawbridge in 1955 were the 1st to re-enter 28 yrs. later.
May 23, 1983 – Composer and Disney Legend George Burns passed away in Portland, Or. at age 68. Among his musical accomplishments “Yo Ho” (A Pirates Life for Me) (co-written with Xavier Atencio and used in the Disney theme park attraction Pirates of the Caribbean and the movies based on that ride), “The Ballad of Davy Crockett” (co-written with Thomas Blackburn), and “Love” (for the Disney animated film Robin Hood).
May 23, 1983 – Tokyo Disneyland welcomed its 1-millionth guest.
