Tournament of Attractions! MK quarter-finals: Haunted Mansion VS Space Mountain

This one could be one of the best quarter-final matches out there. Good morning everyone, and welcome back to The Tournament of Attractions! here on the Intercot forums. Thanks for re-joining us!

TO RECAP:

In the Epcot region quarter-finals, Spaceship Eart rolled over Mission Space.
In the DHS region quarter-finals, Rockin' RollerCoaster drove circles around The Great Movie Ride.

NOW:

We've left DHS for a while and have landed on the east side of the board, which puts us in the beloved Magic Kingdom, with one of the most thrilling quarter-final matches yet.

HERE'S WHAT TO DO:
Vote for which attraction you enjoy more!

For the first stop in the MK, we have two classics facing off, as The Haunted Mansion takes on Space Mountain.

The next quarter-final match (with the AK region) will appear on this forum once this poll gets moved to the second page of this forum.

Although I love HM, I have to go with Space Mountain. It was the first ride I ever rode at WDW! :coaster:

This was amazingly difficult. I had to go with HM because I only got the guts to ride Space after I had become a teenager. So, I have more happy childhood memories attached to HM. But now that I'm an adult, I LOVE both.

Very easy choice for me, Haunted Mansion!!

Especially since the refurb last year.

My trip would never be complete without seeing Madame Leona and those dancing ghosts!! I havent seen it since the refurb -it was closed for it my trip last year.

I do love SM, but if I had to go without one it would be SM. HM is a must do several times every trip.:blush:

HM! I love the ride and unfortunately I can't do SM anymore because of leg problems (too difficult to get in and out of :( ) but if I could it would have been tough cause I loved SM too.

(I find it interesting that the slower paced rides like HM, Pirates and Spaceship Earth always do well when paired against some of the newer thrill rides. I wish the imagineers and WDW would take note of this and look into making a few new rides similar to these classics.)

I'm as shocked as you are Kine! This is unbelievable. I honestly thought this quarter-final match would be more evenly-matched.

After this match, there are several more quarter finals (3 in Epcot, 3 in DHS, 3 more in MK, and still 4 in AK). Some of them will be complete blowouts...then again...I guess you never know for sure!

I have to say Space Mountain for me. This was the very first roller coaster that I ever rode. I was 16 and it was my first trip ever to any kind of amusement park. I'd say my parents picked the best one to start me off at.

I love both attractions, but HM tells such a great story and the theming is so much fun. Had to go with HM.

I have to go w/ HM. To me, it's more of an experience than "just" a ride. :mickey:
