May 10, 1922 – Actress Nancy Walker, who appears in the 1973 live-action feature “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” was born in Philadelphia, Pa. (She is best remembered as Rosie on the TV commercials for Bounty paper towels.
May 10, 1929 – For the 1st time since moving to Hollywood, Walt Disney released a cartoon without a continuing character. “Skeleton Dance” was the 1st of the Silly Symphony Series.
May 10, 1946 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “In Dutch” was released.
May 10, 1956 – Actress Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
May 10, 1959 – Walt Disney’s daughter Sharon married Robert B. Brown at the Presbyterian Church in Pacific Palisades, Ca. with a reception to follow at the Hotel Bel Air in Beverly Hills.
May 10, 1976 – Actress Rhona Bennett, a member of the Disney Channel’s “The All New Mickey Mouse Club”, from seasons 4–7, was born in Chicago, Il.
May 10, 1987 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “North Avenue Irregulars.”
May 10, 1989 – The Disney Channel aired episode 13 of MMC. “Today is Anything Can Happen Day!”
May 10, 1996 - Fulton’s Crab House opened at Pleasure Island in WDW.
May 10, 2007 – To mark the one year anniversary of “Tarzan” on Broadway, Michael Lassell, author of “Tarzan: The Broadway Adventure,” hosted a story book signing party at the Lincoln Square Barnes & Noble bookstore. In attendance were the show’s stars Josh Strickland, Jenn Gambatese, Chester Gregory II and its Oscar-winning composer Phil Collins.
