Bar Code on the bottom of the key cards??

I noticed on our Key cards from our recently completed April visit that a bar code has been added along the bottom edge of the card.

Does anyone know it's purpose? Does it duplicate ID# on of the card, or does it have another purpose?

From what I've heard it may be a different way to scan your admission when the parks get very busy. Obviously we have all seen how the turnstiles with the finger scan have really slowed things down and this would be a way for CMs with scanners could scan your ticket and allow you through. At least that's what I've heard.

If possible, you should keep a copy of your card. This code allows them to find the card in the system if your card is lost or stollen.
