Long story short, one of my roommates, Rachel, fell between 15 and 20 feet today from a ropes course and fractured her spine. She's currently in the hospital and we're not really sure what's going to happen yet. If everyone could just keep her in your prayers I'd really appreciate it. With finals coming up in 2 weeks this is the last thing we needed to end our freshman year of college!

//UPDATE//

Rachel is doing pretty good so far. She is still in the hospital and has been put in a brace. Hopefully she will be released tomorrow to go home for 2 weeks of bed-rest. She'll have to wear the brace for at least 2-3 months and will most likely have to go through some sort of physical therapy. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and pixie dust, they seem to be working.

We'll keep her in our prayers and send loads of :pixie::pixie::pixie:... a close friend of mine fractured his spine skiing in March and is up and about, doing fine -- he's wearing a back brace during the day, but otherwise shows no ill-effects. I will hope & pray the same holds true for Rachel!!

Prayers and pixie dust for your roommate! That is awful! It will be a scary few weeks for everyone that knows her.

One of the girls on my floor when I was a freshman fell 4 stories out of a window when she was trying to rappel down the wall. (She was in ROTC and was visiting some friends.) She did walk again with lots of therapy and she even graduated on time. I will pray that Rachel's recovery is as complete.
