My fellow Disney fanatics! Although I don't post often I'm sure I'm not alone with visiting Intercot several times everyday. I'm currently 43 days away from my next trip and I just can't wait!

Soooo my question for you guys is can you help me get through these days with ur best Disney memory? I love to experience the magic through the eyes of my fellow intercot family.

So who wants to help me with my disney memory countdown?

I've got so MANY wonderful Disney memories, but since I'm only supposed to list one, this is it.
I've visited Disney many times as a child and as an adult/parent. But it took years for me to finally get to Disney with my DH and my 2 DD's at the same time. We finally all got to go together this past December and stayed at our first deluxe resort. My DH picked the Poly and we had a wonderful time. So my best memory is going to Disney with my entire family for Christmas. It doesn't get any more magical than that for me!:mickey:

Oh goodness it is sooo hard to choose a favorite memory of Disney as there are so many.

I think maybe the best memory is of our very first trip as a family. Dh had never been before and it was also the first trip for DS (8 at the time) DD (4 at the time) and DD (6 months at the time). When we first entered MK and DH, DS and DD caught sight of the castle from Main Street. The look on all their faces was priceless and DD was screaming "theres cinderella's castle cinderellas castle cinderellas castle.... i have to go to cinderellas castle" She was having no part of stopping for characters or pictures she was walking straight to that castle. That was just awesome... I still have her little voice full of excitement on video and now that they are 12,8 and 5 they love watching that over and over again.

There are so many of our first trip together but the one that popped into my head first was when my DD at age 4 saw Simba for the first time...We went to Festival of the Lion King and we sat on the side where Simba comes out...The look on her face will be etched into my memory forever...I felt so much emotion for her that we both had tears running down our faces...She then turned around and said to me "thank you for the best day of my life" and squeezed my hand...Thru the whole show she just stared at him...When it was over she tried to go up to him and sing "I just cant wait to be king"...I dont think that I had ever seen her that happy...

At CRT, when my DD (2 weeks away from being 3) joined in the wishing - closed her eyes, waved, and just really, truly believed. I cried like a big baby (but hid it pretty well).

OMG there are so many!! It's so hard to pick... I know you asked for one but I really can't pick between two,. The first was during our last trip in Dec 2007. It was our first day and we went straigh to MGM after checking in the hotel. For all the times I've been to Disney in my life (too many to count) I've never been during the Christmas season. When dusk hit we head over to the streets of america and when ever we turned the corner to see the Osborne Lights, our breath was literally taken away. I looked at my DH and DD and all three of us had tears in our eyes. It was the most perfect moment

Then during the same trip during the MVMCP we got caught in a rain storm. We ran into IASW so get out of the rain and when we got out we didin't have a chance to get in front of the castle before the fireworks started. We were right behind the castle near Dumbo. Well any-one who has seen the fireworks from here knows that they are literally going off over your head. It was breathtaking. At one point my DD(7) looked at me and said," Momma, this is SO magical" It melted my heart. :mickey:

Way too many...but one of my favorites...
When my oldest DS was about 3 he loved Toy Story. We were at Hollywood Studios and the Green Army Men came out. He froze! Of course it not do help that he had not had a nap, he was tired, hot, and very cranky. Several of the army men noticed and tried their best to get a smile from him. They played "peekaboo", "gonna getcha", and tried on his had and sunglasses. No smile! After about 10 minutes...one of the men picked him up out of his stroller and started walking with him! He took him straight to Mickey Mouse (who at that time signed autographs near the magic hat). Of course there was a long line, however the Green Army man took him straight to the front of the line right into the arms of Mickey. I have never to this day..(DS is now 14) seen him light up and smile as big as he did. Pure Magic. By this time two of the Green Army Men had joined him and and they started jumping up and down and doing cartwheels! They were excited to finally get a smile.
That video and picture are one of my prized possessions.
Like I said....Pure Magic!

For me it is three separate incidents but each one was really just like the last one. That is the look on their faces the first time each of my three kids walked into the Magic Kingdom for the first time!

Our first trip was in 1984 when our children were 10 & 12. Back then, it was just MK and Epcot, but even with five days and only two parks, we didn't think it was enough time. We gave each child $25 spending money - plenty back then, and DD waited until the last day to buy the largest Mickey she could find. I'll never forget when the car picked us up to go home, it was Tom Chris & I in the back seat, and Beth and Mickey in the front. I wish we'd had a picture of the three of them from behind.:mickey:

My son and I went to "the World" on a vacation together back when he was 15 (he is now 26) and we visited Discovery Island. We purchased sandwiches at the counter service there and proceeded to the picnic tables in the sand to eat. My son opened his sandwich, took off the slice of tomatoe and placed it on the side of his plate. Before we knew it, a very large crane hopped on our table, took my son's tomatoe with his beak and proceeded to eat it right there in front of us! I will never forget that. We both still talk about that!!! :)

Being picked as an extra for the Indiana Jones show last year, on my birthday. That was sooooo much fun, and such a wonderful memory.

I love these type of threads.. :cloud9:

Wow well theres a few! Prolly my fav is when I got engaged .. it along with several other ppls stories are on this thread (its too long to rewrite )....

Tell us about your Disney surprises! (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=131775)

But also theres the very first time my DD saw Mickey Mouse - she was 4 and it was love at first sight. She already adored Mickey and was the whole reason we went to WDW at all! I'll never forget the look in her eyes. And then I looked at my parents and I'll never forget the look in their eyes! I still get this feeling everytime we go to WDW. Priceless

Theres also funny things like when my uncle was mistaken as a CM and because he happened to know the answer to the ppls question it started a frenzy of other ppl asking him for info!!

Or when my Dad was chosen to be King Arthur in the World Showcase Players skit (ichy ichy ya ya wa wa :woohoo: LOL!!)

Or when my DD was chosen to act out Pluto for Andy Mation while he was explaining that Walt did these things himself to draw characters and making a pluto balloon dog - which he gave to her! She got to spend the whole day carrying this Pluto and telling ppl how she got it.. she loved it!

One of my fav for myself is time when we were at Mama Melroses for dinner after having taken a last minute 1 am flight and then doing DHS all day. To those who are familiar then you know that they have that rack/stand in there lobby area with wine bottles and such on it. Well.. my Dad couldnt read the label because he didnt have his glasses on him. So I read it - Im A Genie. My Dad says what?? And takes a close squinty look at it and says "How about try - IMAGINE" LOL omg I was soo tired and all those Streets of America had gotten to my head... I was just reading it with an accent ...so I thought! We laaaaaaaaughhhhed all thru dinner til we cried. Couldnt stop! Its turned into one of things where we can look at each other and randomly say "Im a genie!" and all of us bust out laughing!

This is another great thread of ppls special moments in WDW....

Our last trip to WDW was filled with so many special memories that choosing 1 would be next to impossible. Let's just say that God was watching over us on this trip in a HUGE way!!

So, we get to DW and we are awaiting the arrival of our extended family who make up the other 6/10ths of our Grand Gathering. We decide to go to DTD to look around. We go in to Goofy's Candy Kitchen where we are asked to be the "Family of the Day" to help Goofy in deciding what flavor of fudge to take to the county fair. We each got to taste about 5 different flavors of fudge and fill out a form to rate each of the fudges. Our girls were beaming from ear-to-ear!! After we were done, they gave our family a Magic Moments certificate that we could bring home with us. It was great! So, you think that that would be enough to make a trip, right??!! Not!

So, Day 2 we are scheduled for breakfast at CP for the first reservations of the day. We get to MK early (and when I say early, I mean 2nd car in the lot early)!! We are through the turnstiles but waiting to be let on to Main Street to walk to CP when a castmember approaches us and says, "Can we ask your family a question?" We reply, "Of course!" The castmember then goes on to tell us that each day they choose a family to help Mickey and his friends open up the Magic Kingdom and they wanted to know if we would like to be that family. Duh, YEAH!!!!!! So, we chose the 5 youngest of our family (there were 10 of us total) to take part in the park opening celebration. They took the 5 (and myself so I could take video and pictures) on a Main Street car back to the back of the park where they (we) were greeted by about 20 characters including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, etc and the kids got about 15 minutes to collect autographs and take pictures with all of the characters. Then they all loaded on the train and went and got in place for the opening ceremony. I was driven back to the entrance to join my family in watching the show. The kids got to take part in the ceremony and got to throw out pixie dust to open up the park with Mickey and friends. Afterwards we all got to take pictures with Mickey for about 5 minutes and then we got Magic Moment certificates for each of our immediate families within our extended family. Memories that I will remember forever!! Of course, just when we thought it couldn't get any better......

The next day we arrive early at the AK to be one of the first to get in to the park so that we could head straight for Expedition Everest and then to the Safari. As we are waiting, a castmember approaches our family. No, really...I am not lying. The castmember says to us, "Can I ask your family a question?" We are completly dumbfounded and even begin to chuckle a bit..."Of course," we say. He then tells us that each day they pick one family to help them to open up the Safari and to wake up all of the animals and they wanted to know if our family would like to help them in doing that. Ummmmmmmm, OK!!

So, we get escorted back to the Safari where we have the rope that is stopping all other guests from going any further opened for us to pass through. We get our very own jeep and we are able to take the Safari all by ourselves. It was AMAZING!!!!!! At the end we got certificates for each of our families again!!

The remainder of the trip was also amazing but that was the last of the certificates. No worries there...we had to save some magical moments for the other families visiting the parks!!!

I would have to say that it will be pretty rough to ever top that trip! However, I will enjoy trying again and again!!:mickey:

I only went once as a child when I was 10. It was nice but now it is way more awesome!

My first time as a mom was in 05. My dd5 and my ds2 went for their 1st time! We went to CRT w/ the whole family(dh and grandparents) when each of the princesses came to our table and talked to my dh5 I cried like a baby!!! They each played w/ my ds2 and it was adorable. We had gotten her a pink princess dress and she LOVED every minute of it!! They didn't have any of the meals when I was small!

Our last trip was in Nov 07. Our first time w/ Christmas decorations. We were in DHS(MGM back then) after dinner and the Osbourn Lights came on while we were standing there! It was a TOTAL surprise! Again I cried like a baby!!! So awesome!!!

Have a great trip!!!!!!! :mickey:
