Free Internet begins May 4

DVC has announced:



Based on Member feedback, the daily charge for wired high-speed Internet access for Members staying at Disney Vacation Club Resorts at the Walt Disney World® Resort will be discontinued effective May 4, 2008. Guests renting Disney Vacation Club accommodations will continue to pay the daily rate for access, and high-speed Internet access charges still apply to Members staying at non-Disney Vacation Club Resorts.

Thanks for the update. I heard the rumors for a while and was wondering how long it would take Disney to stop charging DVC members staying at DVC resorts.

I think alot of people were complaining that if you are a DVC member , this should be a perk!!I think it should, after all, we are there enough to spend money on other things. anyway, my teenagers will be happy!!:thumbsup:

I agree every hotel I stay at for business is free. Maybe the initial charge was to put the infrastructure in place.

Good news. They said Spring '08 and it is good to learn that the free internet will be implemented sooner rather than later. :thumbsup:

There are a few "Howevers" along with the announcement:

Vero Beach and Hilton Head will not have free access until their rooms are wired; exactly when that will be completed is uncertain.

Here's a chart showing who will and who won't get free access:

Now why such a strange date! Wouldn't May 1st have been so much better! Guess it's the start of a new week. Anyway its great they finally did it. Every where else I have stayed pretty much had free access. Guess my work will be happy they will not have to cover the cost anymore!!!
