I was just asked a question that I didn't know the answer to.

If you buy an unexpiring child's park hopper but the child you bought it for is a full price guest when they return, can it still be used?

Yes you can. You are supposed to go to guest relations and they will replace the ticket with a adult ticket free of charge.

does it matter how old the hopper is?

I can't help but think they would have safeguards against people buying children's park hoppers for toddlers in anticipation of a trip 5 or 10 years later. That would be one heck of a savings.

If they paid for the non-expiring option, then there is no limit. I haven't done the math, but would the savings be that much?

I believe it must be used as a child ticket to be a free upgrade to an adult ticket. If you buy a ton of child tickets, don't use them for at least one day and then try to upgrade them, I'm sure there will be a charge.

The price different is a hair over $40 on a 10 day non-expiration ticket, probably hardly worth the trouble.

Yes I believe they must have been used previously to upgrade.
