We are going on Sept 20-26. (YAY, snuck in on the last day of free dining!) Can anyone tell me if there are any good counter service restaurants at Downtown Disney or on the Boardwalk? We are looking to explore a few places outside of the parks on this trip.

Thanks!

These are really your options. I'd stick with Downtown Disney and try one of the aforementioned restaurants instead of going to the BoardWalk.

We like Earl of Sandwich a lot! Something for everyone there! We didn't like our experience at Cooke's of Dublin last November - the food had been sitting under the heat lamps too long. I guess if you ate right at rush hour when the food gets served quickly it might be better.

My vote is for wolfgang puck express. We went last year in sept. free dining and this was a great meal and on the ticket was almost as expensive as a TS meal for breakfast. Good food and a great value for the $$$ for CS at DTD.

if you hop on the boat and go across to the beach club you will find "beaches and cream" which is an old fashioned soda fountain with very good food.

Another vote for Earl of Sandwich. On our recent trip, I actually gave my kids the choice of Rainforest Cafe, or Earl of Sandwich. They chose Earl! We actually went twice that week. I was surprised, but oh my gosh, they have the best sandwiches, don't even get me started! And really reasonable, definitely our cheapest meal on vacation!
