Public Works Dept

This may be kind of a strange topic, but my husband works for our local public works dept. Garbage collection, Street sweeping, Recycling, Road and Bridge maintanence. Does DW have their own dept or do they use the local city dept or maybe a private company??? Does anyone know??? If they do have their own, does anyone know the name of the department??? I like to look at the job openings and never see anything to do with public works.

I believe that falls under the Reedy Creek Utilities Department (http://www.rcid.org/Utilities_Main.cfm).
