I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel at disney or downtown disney. We are going to the MK for one day and just need to stay 1 night, as we pass thru Orlando.

If money isn't an issue, I'd stay at the Contemporary or Polynesian, since you can hop the monorail to the Magic Kingdom, and maybe even Epcot if you wanted to go there if the Magic Kingdom closes before Epcot.

Poly...for the reasons stated above.

You don't want to waste time on transportation if you're just going to be there for one night.

The other side of the coin is if you are going to only be there one night then you are likely not going to have the time to take advantage of all the extras that are part of what you are paying for at one of the monorail resorts. You might think about staying at one of the All Stars or POP to save money then drive to the MK in the morning.

If you think you might also want to go to EPCOT (assuming it closes later) than you can park at EPCOT in the morning, take the monorail to MK and then return by monorail to EPCOT to finish the day and pick up your vehicle.

Just another way to look at things!

Another option, that's slightly less expensive, but still in the MK area is The WIlderness Lodge. There is a ferry boat that runs back and forth from there to MK and it's a very nice resort.

Be sure to check out the Resorts (http://intercot.com/resorts/disney/default.asp) page for more info.

We are traveling thru Orlando in March and would like to go to the MK for 1 day. All the resorts on property seem to be booked up. Does anyone have a suggestion for a cheap alternate around WDW or near in Orlando?

There are numerous resorts and motels all around the area. If we stay offsite, we usually stay at the Sheraton Safari Suites. It is located outside of the main entrance to DTD. Rooms usually run from $99 to $150 for a small suite. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to a park and it is walking (1 mile) from DTD.
