Just wondering if anyone has done the:

Albatross Treasure Cruise ]Disney's Yacht & Beach Club ResortsDuring the Albatross Treasure Cruise kids travel the waters of Crescent Lake and the Epcot World Showcase Lagoon in search of buried treasure. The Cruise offers Guests an interactive adventure and featuring six different ports of call, including stops to the Japan and Germany pavilions in World Showcase. The cruise sets sail from Bayside Marina, located behind Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort

or

Grand Adventures in Cooking:Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Children who are potty trained and ages 3-10 may attend.
Must cancel 24 hours in advance or pay full price.

or

Pirate Adventure:Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Children wear pirate bandanas and follow clues to search Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon for buried treasure. Two cast members, including a lifeguard, accompany the group. They will sail along the Resort Marinas to collect treasure. At the final port, children will have a light meal and split up the treasure.

or

Islands of the Caribbean Pirates Adventure
Caribbean Beach Resort
Meal includes peanut butter and jelly sandwich, gummy bears, rice krispy treat & fruit punch drink box.

?????????????????

There are 3 different pirate things! :scratch:Which one is the best? Or should we just ditch them and do the cooking? Three boys- 5,6,9,10!

Also, do you leave them there for the duration? Or do you have to accompany them?

Thanks for the help!

To my knowledge, you leave them and do not accompany them and pick them up.
I think the reason why there are so many pirates ones in different locations is just for convenience, so if you aren't going to be near any of those resorts, I'd say go with the Grand Floridian one, because that is near MK.

I think the boys might enjoy the pirates one as that sounds more silly fun oriented instead of the cooking one- and as far as I know, I thought the cooking one was oriented to 7ish age (not the 10 year old).

Just my :twocents:. Someone might be able to help you who knows the more official guidelines, because I am not positive of the differences or if you can leave them or not. But I am 99.9% sure. :D

My son did the Pirate Adventure at GF. He loved it!! I was not able to go it was kids only. He got a cool goofy ear pirate hat, lunch and a treasure at the end(loot bag) I know it had pirate coins, fake jewel stones, candy, and other stuff I do not remember all of it.

I was a little scared leaving him so I stay at GF but I wander around in the shops and sat on the bench near where the boat took off.

My son was 6 at the time. I did see lots of kids around the age of 10 and they were having fun too

Our DS was 4 and then 5 when we sent him on the pirate cruise out of the Beach Club. He actually ASKED to go again the second time, so we booked him on it.

You meet at the designated location and sign a waiver and get a pager then see the kids off on their cruise -- then you have approximately two hours to yourself to do whatever. The kids get to have fun, get lunch and also treasure as they depart the boat. Chasing the pirate around the lake was the "funnest part" I'm told by my DS and he really enjoyed his time away from mom and dad.

We walked around the Boardwalk and had "breakfast" at the Boardwalk Bakery both times. We got our pastries and juice/coffee and sat outside and people watched for a bit. We also did a little shopping while we waited for DS.

When DS was finished we just walked right on over to Epcot thru the Int'l Gateway for the remainder of our day.

For those of you whose children went on these cruises--how old were they? Is this too "young" an activity for our 9-year old DD? The problem is, she's growing up faster than I am.

DS (now 10) has participated in both the Pirate Adventure from the GF (ages 6 & 7) and the Albatross Treasure Cruise (age 8). All times he had a blast, and it was nice for DH and I to have a few stolen moments alone. At GF, we hauled over to the MK for a few rides on SM, while at BC/YC we went over to Epcot via International Gateway for some shopping and pictures.

It seemed that the Pirate Adventure from GF had a younger audience than the Albatross Treasure Cruise, but that could have been the day that DS attended. During the GF cruise, the kids went to various resorts to find clues to the treasure, while at BC/YC the kids cruised around WS lagoon before it was open to the public to find clues and the treasure.

For those of you whose children went on these cruises--how old were they? Is this too "young" an activity for our 9-year old DD? The problem is, she's growing up faster than I am. Honestly, by age 8 Kyle was among the oldest in the group - and after that, we gave him the choice of planning a day (which park, TS meals, etcetera) or another cruise at age 9. He chose a day where he could plan all the activities - and at age 10, he has planned another day which we call "Kyle's Day". Age 9, especially if she's a somewhat mature 9, may find that this is on the young side of entertainment for her. :mickey:
