If I purchase a gift basket with official Mickey Ears in them, can I bring them to the Chapeau for engraving or do I HAVE to buy them at the shop? I want to have little gift basket waiting for my two children upon arrival. I was going to order a "welcome" basket from Disney Florist. BTW, thanks to the recent posters pointing me to the Disney Florist site.

Yes you can! Just make sure you bring your receipt with you in case there is any question regarding the legitimacy of the purchase!

Do take note, however, the Chapaeu is currently closed for refurb. I know that the embroidery store (the 5&10 at MGM) is currently open, but they do not do the traditional yellow script embroidery! I'm not sure if the Chapeau machines are elsewhere for the time being

I think that I read the Emporium is doing the personalization on the hats while the Chapeau is closed for refurbishment. I am not 100% sure on this, but I'm sure someone will come by and verify!

County Bounty in Toon Town and Sir Mickey's by the castle are doing stitching while the Chapeau is closed. I brought my sisters ears which we got from a gift basket in and they didn't question me. Hope that helps and have fun! -Christie

My DD got her ears from a previous trip embroidered while we were there in August. They never even asked to see a receipt - good thing 'cause I didn't have one!

You can do that they well just be like two dollars for their names.:mickey:

Just so you know, they won't embroider nicknames on the ears.

Yep, the emporium. They used white thread on my boys' ears Feb 8.
