Anyone been? Worth the price? We are thinking of taking dd and ds this summer for 3 or 4 nights (ages 10 and 7). But it's very expensive and wanted to know what others thought. Have also looked at Beaches or other resorts. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

it's really very nice but expensive. You won't have to leave the resort because there's plenty to do. We are not beach people so 7 days are too many for us. The waterpark they have is out of this world.
This was talked about on another thread. If you book a room at the neighboring Comfort Suites you can use all the Atlantis's facilities. We stayed at the comfort suites about 15 years ago (it was called something else back then) and it was nice then but I don't know how it is now.

From what I've heard, the food and everything in Atlantis is extrodinarily overpriced. I've heard it also wasn't worth the money, but I have never been so I can't back any of these opinions up. Personally, I won't believe what anyone says until I go there myself- the waterpark looks amazing.
There are plenty of other threads in which you'll find a lot more information. Just do a quick search.

I love Atlantis. It's a fantastic place. It's not for everybody though. The best way to describe it is Disney World meets Las Vegas. If that sound's good to you, then you'll love it. It's huge in scale and the attention to detail throughout the resort is on par with Disney World.
It's a fantastic place for children. There are calm beaches in a protected lagoon, open water beaches, kiddy pools, exciting and unique water slides, and wonderful aquariums sprinkled throughout the resort grounds. There's a night-time teen hang-out club and a Discovery Channel day and evening camp.
Yes, everything is quite expensive and people are often put off by the room rates. The rooms are absolutely fine, people just often expect a regal suite at the four seasons for the price they are paying. But compared to a deluxe quality WDW vacation at a top WDW resort, prices aren't that different.
I'd be cautious about focusing too much on opinions from cruisers. They only get a slice of the Atlantis experience...that's like making a judgment about all of Disney World, but only having been a day visitor to the Animal Kingdom and stayed on International Drive.
Comparing Beaches and Atlantis is like comparing a merry-go-round at a local mall with the entirety of WDW. Atlantis is a unique place IN THE WORLD and there is nothing like it anywhere (except the one they are building in Dubai). If you want a quiet beach vacation, someplace else would probably work better. But if you want some thing as awesome ad WDW, Atlantis is worth a vacation.

Laughing and I have had this discussion before....'extraordinarily overpriced' is an opinion. Lots of people think everything Disney is 'extraordinarily overpriced'....it all depends on how you want to spend vacation money. I think Atlantis prices are worth it for the amazing experience you have there.

Been there as well, prices are comparable to other resorts so just know you will pay more to eat there.(Just like at Disney). We loved it and going to return later this year.

The resort is beautiful! Plenty to do there. I just wish that when I was there that Mesa Grill had been open....opened 2 days after we left.:(
