This might be my past insurance life coming out, I'm just curious.

We have two cars, but my main one if a Toyota Sienna 2001 with only 62,000 miles on it. The only time I rack up the miles is going to Florida, which I try to do about 4 times a year.

I'm driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan with about 75,000 miles I think. I'm keeping it until it falls apart. A car payment would definitely cut into my vacation money! I don't really go anywhere anyway so it's great!

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry with almost 170,000 miles on it. I used to commute 1 hour each way three times a week for work. It's also taken us to Las Vegas twice (once to get married) and to Anaheim a couple years ago for our DL trip. It also has the license plate "DSNYLVR" :D

The wife drives the family truckster, a 2005 Honda Odyssey with 35k miles. I drive the previous family car, a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder with 115k miles. It's starting to rust but I hope to drive it ways more. I don't want two car payments again.

I drive a 2001 Ford Taurus. I think the mileage is somewhere b/t 60-70,000. Bought it used.
Mom and dad drive a 99 Mercury Sable (almost the same car) and brother drives a 94 Taurus... My previous cars were a different 94 Taurus (Totaled accidentally by my mom) and a 99 Ford Contour SE Sport (totaled by a stupid tree the second week I had it )
Can you tell my Dad likes to buy American?

2006 Hyundai Elantra Limited, 25,000 is what I use for business and my wife drives a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited, Platinum Package with 9,200 miles on it.

We bought the Elantra because it was fairly cheap, had great gas milage and a great warrenty. We liked it so much, we bought the Sonata.

The Sonata is the nicest driving car I've ever owned and I've owned a few. :D

We have a 2002 Chev Impala that we bought new, it has about 75,000 miles on it and DH drives it. It has been to WDW about 5 times from Toronto Ontario.

I drive the new-to-us 2002 Honda Odyssey 'Mindy Van' as DS 4 calls it, it has about the same mileage and has seen Florida 2 times. We have had it for 2 years.

1997 Mercury Sable with 142,000 miles. It's still going strong, but I would love to get something new. It's just so hard to pass up no car payments and very minimal repair bills.

ChipDale2708... I'm with you on the Escapes (and its Mercury twin). I've had my eyes on them for years now. I can't wait for the 2009 models to roll out his summer. They've upgraded the engines and added Sync. If I do decide to get rid of my current car, I'm going with the Escape or Mariner.

A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu with 45,000 miles on it. I wouldn't have that many miles if it was just me driving it so I can't justify getting a new car. Although last weekend we went to the Chicago Auto Show and I do love the new Malibu.

I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe, that's only about 2 months old. It has like 2,800 miles on it, but almost half that comes from driving it to WDW in December.

I agree! I'm driving a 2007 Camry with about 13,000 miles on it. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that the antenae is in the back window so there is no place for my Disney antenae toppers! Prior to that I drove a 1995 Camry that I had since new and passed it on down to my DS to drive. It's got about 130,000 miles on it.

Well, if I had posted to this last week, my answer would be completely different. Prior to just this past Saturday we had a 1992 Honda with about 200,000 miles on it. Awesome car and has served our family well. However, it was dying. The cost to repair was going to be a nice down-payment on a new vehicle, so we went that route. After looking at several cars and things, we found a Subaru lot. We were so impressed. My DH just needed a simple get-to-work-and-around-town car, so he bought an Imprezza. We also owned a 2000 Jeep Cherokee whose repairs were costing more than a car payment. We didn't want to put anymore money into that sinking ship. We traded that one in too for a nice family car. My favorite feature--Satellite radio. My son always wants to hear Disney Radio when we get in the car!!:mickey: It will be a great travel car to our favorite destination in the world--WDW!!!

So to answer your question....as of just this past Saturday we drive:

a 2008 Subaru Imprezza--only had 5 miles on it at time of purchase. It may have about 50 miles or so now.

and a 2008 Subaru Legacy--about 176 miles.

2005 Supercharged Monte Carlo SS - about 58,000 miles (DH's baby - traded his '02 Camaro SS for it and practically stole the thing....mega cheap nearly leftover)

2002 Camaro SS (6 speed manual :cloud9: )- about 57,000 miles (my baby)

1999 Cougar V6 - about 135,000 miles (our beater, but still looks/runs great)

I was planning on my next car to be a Dodge Challenger SRT8, but I just found out I can't get a 6 speed manual, which is stupid because it's a MUSCLE CAR! DH is on the fence between a Mustang Shelby or the new Camaro.

I drive a 2007 Kia Rondo. I absolutely love it. It's got a very comfy ride. I got it in August, and it has about 5,000-ish miles on it. It looks like a min-SUV but it's not 4 wheel drive. It's got a ton of room inside for such a small car, and the storage space is enormous, also considering the size of the car.

DH got a 2007 Nissan Versa back in October. I don't know how many miles it has on it, but it's probably also around 5,000-ish. Also a really great little car. He says it's a lot of fun to drive. I am more comfortable in my own car since I have a bad back and the seat lets me sit up higher and straighter.

Brian, you'll love the new Escapes. I don't dare look at the 2009 models. I can't imagine what they could do to improve on the '08! Well, I take that back, w/ this model they removed the hand grips. I have the limited edition so they are completely gone. The interior is luxurious and looks just like a car - no truck feel at all. I had to valet my car recently and the guy was completely stunned it was an Escape. He was ready to go get one!

We own our Chevy 2002 Z71 Suburban. Love that truck! It has been my all-time favorite. It has 82,000 miles on it.

DH has a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4-door. It's just OK. The fit and finish on it is terrible. It's been back to the dealer for a few things already.
DH sold his 1991 Jeep Wrangler before it really started needing work. That had 120,000 miles on it.
We also sold our 1996 Impala SS last year. That car was great, and DH kept it mint. 24,000 miles on it and it never saw the winter months.
Great post!

Right now I drive a 2002 Tahoe with 146,000 miles (we drive a lot, especially in the summer) and DH drives a 2001 Chev. truck with 108,000 :truck: I guess you could say that when we buy vehicles, we buy them to drive, and drive a lot. I must be one of the few people on Intercot that does not have a car! My DH does not either.

We both get monthly Metrocards, which are good for the subway and buses around all 5 boroughs of NYC. They are $76/month and are good for unlimited rides for 30 days.

Sometimes it's annoying to not have the convenience of a car, but then I think about the cost of owning one...insurance, gas, maintenance, payments, etc....as well as the difficulty of finding parking around here, and then I'm happy about my little Metrocard!

Me - 2007 Honda Pilot, bought at the end of April last year. Has about 3,200 miles on it.

Mike -2004 (?) Chevy Impala, mileage about 20,000. (actually, 16,362 - we just had to check for our insurance renewal!)

We had a used 1989 Camry that we thought we'd have forever! We got it in 1994 and had it for 7 or 8 years - it had low mileage and was the perfect car for Mike to use for work. Unfortunately, around 2001, Mike was rear-ended at a light and the insurance company decided to total it. :( We loved that Camry!

That's funny, now that our kids are pretty much grow and out of the house (daughter-20 still lives here, but with school and 3 jobs isn't here much) but now that we don't have kids, my Escape is the first 4-door car we've ever owned. We never really gave in to the "family car" thing. Our primary car when they were younger was a Ford Tempo, yep, all 3 of them in the back seat.

But yes, I miss my hot rod. Nothing like the sound of a V-8 with proper exhaust, firing up and roaring down the highway. I still look up when I hear a Mustang going by. This is the first time in a lot of years we haven't had a Mustang in the house.

I've been driving my 2008 Toyota Sienna for almost a month now, I think it has 750 miles on it. I lvoe it, although I still feel a little weird about driving a minivan. It handles a lot like my 4Runner did though...I LOVED that truck. Nothing wrong with it, but the mileage was low and I was impressed with the safety features/comforts of the Sienna for DD5.

We're leasing it...never leased a car before, but I'm turning my cars over every 2-3 years, so it made sense. I think.

DS now drives the 1996 Plymouth Voyager with over 100,000 miles on it due to an accident he had with our 1995 Chevy Cavalier, with over 120,000 miles.(great in the winter car) (someone pulled out from a side street and hit the passenger side while he was driving himself and a friend to school, friend hurting a bit, but now fine) needless to say her insurance company totaled it. So we've heard what car you drive now. Stop over at the next thread and tell us what cars you've owned over the years.

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon XL. (Suburban). It has 61,000 miles on it.
We are getting a new Suburban in the fall.

DH has two trucks. A 2004 Dodge four door truck (full size). It has 65,000 miles on it.
His other truck is his plow truck. It is a 1998 GMC extended cab, full size. That has over 100,000 miles on it.

All three are 4WD.

1988 BMW, the mileage just went over 72,000 miles. We got a really great deal on this car since it was in storage for over 10 years and it was for sale on an estate sale. The man who owned it was in his 80's when he bought it so it was not driven alot for along time. Our friend is a mechanic and worked on it. He told us about it being up for sale and said it was a great deal. It has great gas mileage. We got rid of my 2004 Dodge Durengo for this. The only down side to this car is that it is rear wheel drive. WIth that being said we have had sooooooo much snow that I now have the trunk full of sand to make it able to drive. The fishtailing was unbelieveable, I was used to 4x4 for the last 10 years. but I do love this little car.

I have a 2001 Mercedes Benz ML320. Love it, but it's costly to maintain.

My current vehicle is a 2004 Jaguar X-Type, 3.0 l, British Racing Green with camel interior (sigh :cloud9: ). I've got a little over 40,000 miles on it. It's a long story how I ended up with it - I never expected to have one. We bought it end-of-model year in Sept., 2004, and got a great deal. When we lived in the country, I felt kind of strange parking next to stake trucks and mini-vans at the grocery store.

DH has a 1999 Chevy Tahoe, black with gray interior, with around 150,000 miles on it. He drove about 80 miles round trip to and from work for 6 years, which ran the mileage up quite a bit. Now he only drives about 6 miles to and from work, so he only has to fill up a couple times a month.

Well, if I had posted yesterday I would have said I own a 2000 Honda Civic DX VP, 107,000 miles. Just this evening, however, I went and purchased a new 2008 Civic EX. I really like this car as it has much more room than my current Civic and I get a sunroof! The exterior is called Tango Red and it is a spot on match for the shade of maroon of a 1980 Phillies uniform ;) .

2003 Saturn Ion Quad coupe (the one with the nifty doors that open out).

It's got 124,000 miles on it. I love it, but because I drive so much it's always getting maintenence. To give you a gauge - I get an oil change once a month! But it's a great, solid little car and has treated me very well.

I have a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country . I think it has about 3500 miles on it. It was hard going to minivan but I have to say I LOVE this car! It has everything you could possibly need and drives sooo nice. I can't wait to break it in going to Florida in July!

I have a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD with 132,000 miles. I bought it new in 96 as a custom order from the factory. I had to wait 2 months for them to build it and send it to me. I wanted most of the features of an Eddie Bauer without the V8 engine and a certain color. Still love the vehicle, but will probably replace it this year.

My wife drives a 2007 Honda Civic with about 4200 miles on it. We bought that new last September.

2004 Citroen C2 .... 18000 miles
:thumbsup::car:

I was surprised to see a Citroen, but then I saw where you lived.

In all of the posts, I think that I've only seen one other VW so far. I drive a 2005 VW Jetta GLS TDI (red), with 30K miles logged in the past three years. You may have read on one or two other posts how much I love this car.:cloud9: I usually write more about it, and this post is no exception. It's a diesel that averages 42 mpg.

The only drawback is space for carseats. I have one child now and my DH can't fit in the car (either driver or passenger) with the convertible seat in the rear-facing position. But I'll probably want to drive it to WDW in December, when the car seat is turned around and my DH can fit into the car again. I've driven it to WDW twice, averaging 52 mpg in Sep 05 and 46 mpg in Feb 07 (DH drove faster). I've also taken two trips to Columbus, OH and at least one trip to Algonquin Park, ON.

If I need to get another car, at least this car has an excellent resale value. 30K miles is actually pretty low for a 3 y.o. diesel Jetta. I bought it new almost 3 years ago for $18,500. The Kelley Blue Book value for this car at 30K miles in good condition in a private party sale is $18,600. Sweet! Of course, that's because diesel Jettas haven't been sold in the US for two years and gas prices have gone up a bit since I bought my car. So if I need to buy another car after diesel Jettas are sold in the US again, hopefully this car keeps this kind of value.

2003 ford focus with about 34,000 miles on it, wouldn't even be that many, though, if there weren't 120 miles between college and back home! ;) Great on gas with prices as nuts as they are these days, though, so I'm loving it.

DH & I gave each other new cars for Christmas :)

He has a 2008 Honda Ridgeline with cap. Just got it in November, so probably under 10,000 miles.

Mine is a 2008 Saturn Vue- I got mine in December and have just under 4000 miles.
This replaced a 2002 Chevy Venture "Minnie Van" which I loved. But the extended warranty ran out and it was starting to have some issues.
Same for DH's 1999 Chevy Silverado.

We thought it best to put the money into car payments instead of repairs.

We also have a 1992 Toyota Camry that DS20 drives when he is home from college. It has >135,000 miles and still does really well. DS17 is not yet interested in driving.

I so want the Saturn Vue Hybrid! Linda, please bring your car to the meet. I'd love to see it!

I drive a 2000 Saturn SL-1, and it has ~57,200 on it. I don't drive it too far.

2006 Hyundai Accent GLS Sport... 32,000 miles on it...

I dunno why I have so many miles on it. I didn't think it was a lot until I started reading other's on here. Hmmm... I got to Disney a lot--110 miles round trip. I'll blame the summer bi-weekly trips.

I have a 2007 Mazda 6 with about 5,100 miles on it. We got it last year in anticipation of DS#2's birth, and I love the car, but it's a little two small for two car seats.

Up until last week, I had an 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. It has about 19K miles on it, and it was the BEST car EVER!!

Now, I have a 2008 Scion tC. Its a great car too! Such a pleasure to drive, and with everything that comes standard, it was the best deal around! It has about 119 miles on it!
