Jym..if you think the pregnancy hormone is bad..wait till the post-partum clothes shopping hormone hits. You will find yourself being dragged to baby Gap, the Children's place and don't forget Carter's!!
Emily..did you run the Donna Deegan marathon? DH is an EMT at Mayo and said it was amazing to work it..we are going to attempt the half marathon next year...I stress the "attempt" portion of that.
I sure am enjoying being home on a Sunday for the first time in about 5 years!
Has anyone heard from Jennifer? I am assuming that they made it down in one piece.

Yup... it's an absolute... wait until that hormone kicks in for all the catalogs headed your way, too!! One Step Ahead, First Start, CWD Kids, Pottery Barn Kids.... it's pretty powerful stuff!! :D
I gave them all Tom's address. Is that wrong?

And guess what... I got a new laptop this morning so that I can actually work on my digital scrapbooking (DS hogs the home machine in the evenings which is when I could be doing it) and also (more importantly) on some freelance work I very much want to pick up.
Later gators! How long do you think it will take me to do all my laundry? :drama:
Ellen, I'm so jealous... I want a laptop so badly!! Dan's not convinced I need one, as we truthfully need to replace the dinosaur I'm using this moment first.... but I'm not giving up.... maybe in a year or so, when all our "big" stuff is done being overhauled!!
How's the laundry going? I'm on our last load... oh, wait... I think Dan just carried a new basket down to the basement. :(
Did I forget to tell him to bring cookies? Would cupcakes do?
Do you remember who you're asking??? :tasty:
I gave them all Tom's address. Is that wrong?
:high5:
Guess what?? 11 days 'til spring, and Dan's "shoutout" for the day??? 32 days 'til the Masters!!! :golf:
Oh - and PS - 41 minutes 'til the bag I REALLY want on eBay is up... sigh... why do I let myself get sucked in????
I gave them all Tom's address. Is that wrong?
OK possum killer.... Tom who ???
I think giving them Tom's address was perfect!!!

Charter wants me to give them my phone service business---this AM my internet service waws down along with my cable  What if my phone service goes down with my cable and internet service? GRRRR! Enough to give you bad thoughts, isn't it?
Deb, I don't blame you, my internet connection is with Charter and sometimes I'm off more than I'm on. But where I'm staying right now they have the whole package, internet, phone and cable with Charter. They haven't had a problem. Yet!
Does anyone want to see my scrapbooking studio (http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2212256670093439642YeMhPZ)so far?
Carol, nice scrapbook studio. I love the Tinkerbell's. I have a bunch of scrapbook material but just can't get going for some reason.
SiL is still about the same. Their brother went by to see her last night and said as he was leaving, she squeezed his hand and "acted like she didn't want him to go." He can sometimes have an over-active imagination though, so I'm not sure how much to read into that report.
Rhonda, more pixie dust for your SIL.
And guess what... I got a new laptop this morning so that I can actually work on my digital scrapbooking (DS hogs the home machine in the evenings which is when I could be doing it) and also (more importantly) on some freelance work I very much want to pick up. I used to own my own desktop publishing/editing/translating, etc. business and really, really miss it. And the extra income would be most welcome. Wish me luck! I guess it's like my own little Field of Dreams... now that I have the "means of production," the work will come.
Congrats on the new laptop. I'll never go back to a regular desktop again. I love my laptop, I'm actually on my third one now. Do you have Window Vista on the new machine? I
OK..... who's Tom ???
Yeah, who is the Tom guy??
Oh and yeah me, I finally hit 16,000 posts! Now you see why I went through 3 laptops already! :D

Why can't Dan say it for himself ?? :D
Not sure... can't seem to get his butt in front of the computer except to do golf stuff. ;)
Guess what?? I won my eBay purse/bag!! It's a Disney purse saw it on our last trip to WDW, it's black leather w/ a black & white picture of Walt on Main St. talking to a (color) picture of Mickey. I loved it... but it was pretty pricey. And now I "won" it for half the price -- and low shipping, too!! :cloud9:
Gotta run... dinner's about ready. (okay.... I was inspired by Natalie... stuffed chicken breasts rolled in cornflake crumbs/rosemary & garlic... topped w/ a red currant/mustard sauce and some veggies on the side... baby corn, carrots and snow peas. my tummy's growling now as I'm writing...) I'm thinking I'll open some wine -- would anybody like a glass??
Edited to add -- CONGRATS Mary on 16K!!! WOW!!

I love my laptop. I need to figure out what to do with the old desktop. It's going into the scrapbooking studio, so I may just use it for my journaling instead of hooking up the laptop to the printer all the time!!
:pixie: for your SIL, Rhonda.
It seems like my mother over reacted yet again and isn't dying like she told us, so, Gilles said we can go to the WDW JQ meet in Dec.!!! Who's all going?

Happy too early Sunday to you all!
Emily, you precious person! Welcome! And how is your mom? Tell her we said HI!
Hi :) I will definitely tell my mom you said hi. She's doing great - she joined intercot and I spoke with her earlier today, her computer's in the shop and she's bummed she hasn't been able to get on here!!! She's more of a lurker, but maybe I'll convince her to post in here.
I vote for carrot soup... like they make at Boma.
Ellen, I was thinking the exact same thought. I wonder if she made it?
Emily..did you run the Donna Deegan marathon? DH is an EMT at Mayo and said it was amazing to work it..we are going to attempt the half marathon next year...I stress the "attempt" portion of that.
I didn't...My knee is injured and can't run right now. I ran the Jacksonville Half Marathon in December. You should totally attempt it next year....I can help you out if you want!
Oh and yeah me, I finally hit 16,000 posts! Now you see why I went through 3 laptops already! :D
That's insane (in a good way ofcourse hehe). Congrats to you!

Congrats to you too! Too cool. It makes you happy and that's all that counts. Your dinner sounds awesome as well. I'm lovin' the foodies in this thread. Too bad we can't all get together for a pot luck. On that note, tonite we're attempting chocolate souflees. We may have extras...any takers???

And everyone else liked it as well. Congrats to Deb & Mary those are some milestones.
And Blythe that sounds like a neat dinner. The cupcakes by the way turned out pretty good as well.

And, thanks to all for the continued pixie dust for SiL. It seems that it is finally paying off! We just got a report from her daughter that they've got her off the ventilator and she's breathing on her own! Her daughter also asked her if she knew who she was, and she nodded yes and mouthed, "I love you", so things are finally looking up! :yay:

It's not my first puter but it is MY first laptop (I've had one from work since 99, but that's Uncle Ernie's). I've spent most of the day porting files, installing programs, etc. Fun but not how I had planned to spend my day. I can't wait to sit down and do my first layout on it! And yes, it has Vista Home Premium (another thing to get used to besides a keyboard layout that's a bit different from the Dell).

I think I need to head off to the studio and get things ready to take down to the car tomorow night. We have the car filled up with all the stuff I need to take to the house tomorrow after work.
After hearing about all these cupcakes, it reminded of me last night as we were sitting in the great room, Gilles looked at me and asked if this kitchen has enough room for me to make cookies!!! I think he's looking forward to me baking once we move!! I'm getting into the mood to make a cheesecake. Do you think anyone would eat eat it if I have one at my housewarming?

The only other thing is the soaps etc.
We are saving some dollars however to splurge on a few AKL nights so I likely shouldn't talk.
As to the cheesecake..the one thing I will say about cheesecake and a party is no one ever wants to cut into them..cause they look to good. I'm a big fan of the "individual" portion thing for that reason. (I used to do a lot of entertaining on a large scale & still do organize it for work. While large cakes/cheesecakes what have you look impressive people just won't cut into them. Perhaps not enough JQ's go to parties?)

I think for us it has always been the convinence of staying so close to MK. At GF we were hopping on the monorail and taking a boat all the time. We just had buses when we went to DT, DHS, and AK. The waits were never long. AT WL, we took the boats to MK to grab the monorail and go to MK, then the buses everywhere else. It seemed like it took a lot longer to grab a bus there. He was a little leary about staying at POFQ, so if he's not happy it'll be on my hands.
As for cutting into a cheesecake, Gilles will have no problem, plus I don't make the top look all that fancy!!:D
Nat, did you hear it's suppose to warm up this week?(I needed a question!!)

I did hear that but when we see the weather I'll belive it. The one thing about the values is that you can be pretty sure you'll see a lot of buses (and they don't stop all over a resort..with the mods such as POR & FQ & CBR they have multiple stops in the resort which can increase waits if it fills up before it gets to you..however as you can clearly see we love PORS!!)

Happy Monday all. Coffee's up. And so is fog. Does anyone need any fog?
We had a little fog this morning, but it's already burned off. It's going to be a beautiful day here in the Lowcountry!
Today is my last day of work before the move. Or should I say today is the last day of working at the store before the move, since I'll be working hard at the apartment. I think I'll be staying at the house alone with the cat. I thought I'd have him get use to the house before the movers start coming in. "See" you all after work tonight!!!
Good luck with the move. We let our cats spit on the corners first, then moved them into the bathroom while the furniture came in. When we let them out of the bathroom, they acted like they'd been imprisoned for years!
You are were chatty bunch yesterday, weren't you? I had too many "to-dos." Dinner ended up being braised chicken, lentil-rice pilaf and green beans. Anyone for leftovers?
I'd best get back to work.
Later!
Can I just say that I know Pogo?
Sure.... why not ! :D

I knew that comment would get you guys! :funny:
That's what DH and I call it, "spitting on the corners." Cat owners should understand. :cat: To mark their territories, cats will rub their cheeks on the corners of walls. When we introduced our girls to their new home, they wandered from room to room, meowing, sniffing, and rubbing up against corners. After that, they felt right at home. And there's nothing better than home, sweet, home, right?:D

Page,
I moved into a different house once with a cat and I spread a thin layer of Crisco on her paws to help her leave her scent in the house. That worked better for us. You are gonna fit right in here!
Carol,
I was on my second cup of coffee when I read what Gilles had said about no caffeine. I am going to go in tomorrow for the test, now. The office that handles the request for such things called a few minutes ago and just told me no caffinated drinks. They advised me to come in tomorrow at 7:30.
Pogo.
I didn't study ,because you borrowed my notes from the last quiz. Could you kindly return them? :D
All JQ ers,

:nono: Are you checking to see if I'm paying attention?
I did manage to see one of Rhonda's ":nono:" as I was skimming thru the posts. Who's the culprit?
Oops! That would be me
Port Orleans French Quarter. I don't think we're ready for a Value resort yet!!! That first trip really spoiled us!!!
POFQ is wonderful! It's our favorite moderate resort... and if the bus fills up at POFQ (which is the first stop), you just go happily on your way to your destination without having to go to POR.
What kind of laptop did you get? I know my keyboard is a lot different on my laptop then Gilles laptop and they are both Toshiba!! The Vista also took a little to get use to.
I really wanted a Macbook Pro but ended up looking at a Gateway and a HP. Got the HP because it had a Firewire port.
Gage found my OLD Mickey Mouse from 1972. He is walking around the house with it saying "MINE". Do you think he will let me keep it here for him to play with while he is at Grandma's, or will I have to let him take it to HIS house when his mom gets off work?
Sounds like the kid has your genes! :mickey:

Hey all, so were you all locked in at home by the big winter storm that swept the country last week and through the weekend? By the unusually large number of weekend posts it sure looks like it.
By the way, I am in search of some pixie dust again! As you all know, a week ago I found out that I have to undergo my eighth back surgery sometime in the next few months. Needless to say I was not very thrilled about yet another surgery!
Well, in what can only be viewed as a piling on exercise, this past Friday I was informed that I now also have thyroid cancer!! They have not determined what type of thyroid cancer it is but regardless they are going to have to remove my thyroid gland. I know that in most cases this is not a big deal but with everything else that is going on I just really didn't need another issue!

Yah, wheres Capt. Jack been? Blythe, did I ever post the pics of DD5 in her pirate costume from last Halloween?
He's been AWOL except for doing golf stuff on the computer... and don't ask me what he's doing, all I know is it has to do with spreadsheets and grids and equipment sites.
He says he'll be back around someday soon, though, as I told him I keep talking about him on here!! ;)
No, you never posted them -- please do!! I'll bet she's adorable... and seeing as I met your older DD's in person, I've got to see your littlest one... I'll bet she's as pretty as her sisters!! :princess:
Do you think anyone would eat eat it if I have one at my housewarming?
sigh.... of course they will.... now, if only we could be there... :(
We are saving some dollars however to splurge on a few AKL nights so I likely shouldn't talk.
Lucky you!! I'd love to stay there, but it doesn't look like it's in the cards for our December trip - it's too long, and I don't want to switch resorts. So, maybe 2009....
The Grill is officially open for the spring/summer/fall season!
I really wish I could make it in December! There is no way we could take the whole family back then - mostly because of school schedules. Do you think I could convince him to have a quick weekend just the two of us?
I'm jealous... we've got a good 4 or 5 weeks 'til it's even close to grill season around here. But I guess it's better than it still being 4 or 5 months!!
Would you like me to have Dan send your DH a PM with a list of all the "benefits" he enjoyed on a "weekend just the two of us"??? I'll bet the airfare will be booked before he's done reading it.... ;)
Happy Monday! I'm ready to attack this week. It was SO hard waking up in the pitch black though.

Lots more :pixie: headed your way too! As far as Skelaxin, I know it is a muscle relaxer and it can make you sleepy. And, don't follow Pogo's advice of having :marg: with it as that is not a good idea. Oxaprozin is an anti-inflammatory. I'm jealous... I want to make our ressies now!!! :fit: But, I know I need to wait until we close on the house, and I'll probably wait until right before our ADR's are okay to do - so, we're probably looking at the end of May. :( But, I'll feel much more stable by then -- so it's better for my mental/financial health to wait, even though it's killing me!!
So - how far out do you buy your airfare?? Jet Blue is our airline of choice, esp. now that I get points and am close to a free flight.... but their airfare for Dec. won't come out for another month or two. I watched their December prices last year, and their best prices were around August. I hate waiting that long, in case I'm wrong... but I guess I'll just have to :fingers: and hope the :magic: is with me!!

So - how far out do you buy your airfare??
I try not to be tooooooo far out. For example, I booked a flight on Jet Blue for May to Boston - I wanted to leave after work and coincide with arriving with my mother who is flying out of Tampa. I got an email last week saying that they changed the flight times and instead of departing at 7:55pm I depart @ 3:10pm. Guess I will be leaving work early that day. I say if times don't matter too much and you find a great deal I'd go for it, but I wouldn't do it any earlier than 6 months out bcos you just never know!!! I am planning on going to San Antonio in November and as tempting as it is with the low prices right now I'm refraining since timing really is an issue with that one. Okay I'll stop rambling about this, I know you must be excited to book though!

Thank you for the birthday wishes! :curtsy:
My boss got very creative. She went to a very good pastry shop downtown and got a selection of pastries. So, your choices are: Individual Lemon pound cakes w/ Amaretto whipped cream, pecan tarts, chocolate eclairs, and individual chocolate raspberry cakes.
Would anyone care for a pastry?
And Deb, I'm glad to hear the test went well.

Jasper, I am so sorry to hear that.... how did they find it??? I'm sending you pixie dust by the tons for both your back & your thyroid.... you're right about the thyroid surgery being a "no big deal" in comparison with all the back stuff you've been through, but it's still unnerving, I'm sure, and we'll keep you in our thoughts.
My primary physician found it during a routine exam. With all the other "stuff" that I have been dealing with I see him at least once every 6 months if not more frequently. Anyway, at every visit he does a basic exam which includes feeling various parts of the body, including the throat, for strange lumps. It turns out that the tumor is already at 3 centimeters which is VERY large for a thyroid tumor. Since it wasn't there 6 months ago and is now that large they are concerned that it might be one of the more aggressive types.
What we do know for sure is that they are going to pull the thyroid out and send it for a complete dissection. Because of the fast growth of this particular tumor they are not willing to say what type of cancer it is until they get that complete dissection done.
We don't know yet when the surgery will be so here we go again with the whole hurry up and wait thing. Personally I think waiting is almost harder than getting the bad news.
weeks.. if they don't help then I'll have to have some x-rays done... he seems to think I have the beginning of a degenerating disc... and the shoveling I did on Saturday aggravated it.
Jasper - I have already said a prayer for you before posting this.. you will continue to be in my prayers!
Thanks for the prayers and be careful with the shoveling if you have a disc problem. Speaking from experience I can also say that if they come back with a verdict of a disc problem that you should exhaust all other options before allowing them to operate on it.
I know it is just an update of the old traction method of treatment but many people in the early stages of disc problems can get a lot of relief and hold off surgery for several years with Vax-D so be sure to ask your doctor about it.
Quiet in here today. Deb how'd your test go?
Are we out of cookies or something?
Cookies, did somebody say cookies?
I love dark chocolate! Anyone for some dark chocolate M&Ms?
Well - it is my birthday today and my boss is hosting a birthday lunch for me. There will be cake later. Any takers?
Happy birthday and pass the dark chocolate, I love the stuff!
I don;t know how I did on the test. I didn't last very long on the treadmill, but the nurse said it was because of some of my meds. I didn't have any pain though.
I have had several stress tests and the length of time on the treadmill is not that big of an issue based on a lot of different issues. Regardless of the results just remember that if they do find something now it is a good thing that they are finding it before it gets worse!! Of course, it is still scary when they tell you about it but remember we are all here pulling for you!
And Pogo at least I know it wasn't me faxing..I don't have a fax at home thank goodness.
Nope.... it wasn't you. If you said you'd fax something to me, it would be here by now ! :D
Did you ever get your fax Pogo?
Nope ! :( Do you have any idea where it is ???

That's quite all right, Pogo. I'm still a newbie here and I quite understand. :D
Mt. Pleasant is literally "just over the bridge" from Charleston, on the Myrtle Beach side. I can drive to "downtown" Charleston in less than 10 minutes. Myrtle Beach is about 80 miles northeast of us. :car:
And there are enough pastries for all! Come and get one when you can, okay?

Yes, yes it is. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
Any good dinner plans? I need some ideas...
Dinner tonight is pasta primavera....I use tomato juice for the sauce with lots of various veggies, garlic, fresh parmesan and whole wheat pasta.
I guess it depends on what you have available at home and what you feel like attempting. Did you think of something yet?

Page did you say lemon? Yumm!
Ellen..do you have any of the following stuff?
Grainy mustard (regular dijon would do), hard cider/white wine/vermouth and whipping cream?
If you do have that stuff..pound the pork chops a little (nice stress releaver)..salt and pepper fry in 1 tbls of garlic oil (or olive oil with one clove of garlic in) over med. high heat. Brown and then remove to a plate (should be cooked through at this time). add cider (or wine or whatever aprox 1/4 cup) cook for two-5 minutes, add 2 tbls mustard (less if straight dijon), then add 1/4 cup whipping cream. simmer for two to three minutes. (by the way awesome with gnocchi)

Happy Birthday, Page!!! That sounds grat what your boss did for you!!! I think I might start to do something like that for my staff!!!
Natalie, can you come to my house and cook for us? These days, it seems my cook is cooking whatever is fast and easy, which consists of frozen stuff. :ack: Since we're talking about food, I think we have gone to a great food town!!! When we were waiting for our closing we went to a diner in town and Gilles had a smoked meat sandwich that was almost as good as what you'd get in Montreal (Nat, you know what I mean!! :D) I swear that sandwich had to be at least 4"-5" tall. I had rueben that was almost as big!!! Then Saturday night we went to a place called Mr. Dumpling that had the best Asian food, no buffet, everything was made fresh!!! Today I went to a hamburger place...all 100% angus beef with choices of 4, 6 and 8 oz. patties. They also have chicken breast and salmon!!!

Natalie, can you come to my house and cook for us?
I'd happily trade cooking for sewing any day! (my brother has gotten me to do this...I email him a grocery list show up and cook. My mom just hands me the receipes she wants made and lets me do it, which means I don't get to pick)
However tonight I think is going to be a meal we never have when DS is home. Tuna cassarole. (he hates tuna and mushrooms the two primary ingredients in mine). Not exactly Haute cusine but that's ok. I'm thinking of doing omlettes tommorow. (goat cheese with roasted red pepper)
Carol have you seen the new Nigella express cookbook? It's got some amazing stuff in it and really really quick. I've made 6-7 things and they have all turned out.
And is Gilles a Schwartz or Ben's guy? Personally I love Schwartz but like being at Ben's better. My aunt lives near a great one in Beaconsfield that we go to all the time as well. (Abes I think)..sigh now I need to go to MTL.

I love tuna casserole, something that Gilles doesn't really like. I've made it for him once and he did like mine, but has never wanted again.:(
I'll have to look for that cookbook. We are getting rid of a bunch of ours that we never use..most are church and community ones that my great aunt had given me. Most of the food in them are too bland for him.
I remember him talking about Ben's and Schwartz both. I'll have to ask when he gets home. You could always come to Milton to Angel's diner!!! We have a large French/Canadian population there.
Did someone hid the questions with the cookies again?

Wait a minute here. Does this mean you have not been to Montreal for smoke meat at either place with him yet? Seriously? I take my own french-canadian community with me everywhere. (My mothers maiden name is Pinard and her first is Simone). Surprised to find a very large francophone population in Windsor as well.
Made Matt go within 4 years of us being together and now he makes me go back! It helps of course that we always have somewhere to stay....now I wouldn't cancel a WDW trip for it. But it is by far one of the nicest cities in Canada to visit.

I've had one in Montreal, my bad memory doesn't remember where though...I'm thinking it might of been Ben's. Wherever it was, it has closed up. I'm using the excuse that it was over 10 years ago!!! Everytime we go to Montreal it has been a bad experience because of the MIL. She doesn't like that fact that I don't speak French and we decided not to have children. She really is nasty about the whole thing, even though she does speak English, she won't speak it when I'm around. Gilles usally gets upset and wants to come home fast.

Whoa..I haven't been back since summer 2006 so didn't know that. Glad I took Matt then. St. Hubert can be had here in Ontario by the way (it's like swiss chalet but if your a Quebecer better). A steame is a steamed hotdog, I believe. (vs grilled) Mikes Sous-Marine is a "sub-marine".
And don't worry at all Carol..Quebec food (fast food included) is often different then most of Canada. (you'll see Poutine in Toronto mostly due to the influx of Quebecers from the 70's not becuase it was really popular here before that). Now if you were to say you had never heard of Timmies that would be a whole nother thing!

Now if Charlie (the bird) got out of the cage might be a different story. He says "Charlie a good bird." What do you think would happen if he had a new saying when they got home?

Poutine is fries, gravy and cheese curds or shredded cheese normally cheddar.
That sounds like a healthy meal. :shake: And to think I feel guilty for eating just french fries!
T & G, your little one is a cutie!!! We have control of the house now but as of Saturday we will be moved in. I'll be staying there Friday night with the cat!!!
Thanks. I got a kick out of her in that costume - it was just hilarious. Did you notice her "Arrrgh!"?
So Saturday is the official day, huh? Won't it be wonderful to be all the way "in"?
Who's watching Idol?
Well not yet - it doesn't start for another hour silly! :D
Hope everyone's evening is treating them well. DD and I are watching Aristocats, for the umpteenth time. :D Its her more recent "favorite", (until the next one comes along......).

I'm jealous... I want to make our ressies now!!!
So - how far out do you buy your airfare??
We haven't made our ressies yet either, but I think it's primarily because we haven't decided where to stay yet. And, as far as airfare, whenever we can afford it.
Usually, if the flight times are that different and the airline initiated it, you can get them to switch you to another flight (if there is anything available) without a fee.
Well - it is my birthday today and my boss is hosting a birthday lunch for me. There will be cake later. Any takers?
Happy Birthday, Page! And, I'd love a pastry. :cake:
Do I have to end my posts with a question? (Or as long as there's a question in the post is that okay?)
So, long as there is a question somewhere in the post. Got it? ;) And, the confused smiley does not count as a question, nor does just a question mark.
I just passed a posting milestone..how on earth can I have typed that much?
Congrats on 7K, Natalie!
I have been sick since last week & it was getting worse instead of better. Still having a ton of stomach issues. They are running a bunch of tests & I will go see a specialist next week. But, I am not allowed to go to work until they get the results of the labwork. I am already bored.
Does anyone have ideas of things I can do?
Hey there, hi there, ho there! Lots of :pixie: headed your way both for your health issues and your boredom!
As far as things to do, how about clean out your closets? If not, want to come over and clean mine out?
I don't think I ever saw an official answer..when is the big JQ gathering in Dec?
I think the bulk of everyone will be there sometime including the weekend of December 13th. We don't have any official plans yet though.

It seems I will be missing this meet that you all are speaking of. It makes me VERY sad, as that is my birthday!! You all can have a great time without me on my birthday, I guess.
I can't afford it since I'm doing the Disney Marathon in Jan, otherwise it would be a no brainer. How am I going to live knowing all of you cool cats will be in Disney World without me on my birthday? I should start a "Send Morgan to Disney World" Fund.
Rhonda, I am going to start a Texas meet thread in the.. well.. meet forum! I have been talking to Michelle (adoptionislove) in the DCL threads, and she lives in Plano! I think it would be great if we got together this summer. What do you think?
So, what should I reward myself with for running 3 miles in about 45 min?

Around two and a half hours, give or take. DW and I haven't been to Charleston in quite a while. It's about time we made the trip. Maybe this spring.
I just talked to Gilles and he was saying it was Ben's that closed down. He also said it was Ben's that we went to.
So you're saying you closed down Ben's? What did you do? :jaw:

Hi Blythe!
I don't believe I know Sandi Christ. I've lived here since 1995 and the population has almost doubled since then.
I figured you wouldn't know her - but you never know!! If you ever see "paintings" at a craft fair that are made out of fabric, though, they're hers!! They're beautiful....
I just passed a posting milestone..how on earth can I have typed that much?
Congrats, Natalie!!
(((( HUGS)))) to everyone! We had BQ chicken , green beans and scalloped potatoes. We have leftovers if anyone wants some. Can I send anyone a plate?
Absolutely!! I didn't get any dinner before I left tonight... :(
Isn't that the pits? I can't see photos at work either....:(
I saw them today when I got up, though... she looked adorable!!! She looks so much like your other girls, esp. your "Savvy"!! Too cute....

Good morning good morning - it's quite lovely here in Sunny FL. I just booked a trip for a co-worker here - he's going in April, staying at the WL. I also booked him a Keys to the Kingdom Tour and dinner at V&A. That was my excitement of the morning!!!

Yeah, we did!! It was really funny to watch him with the dog. Gilles asked if I would be that bad if I lost Mittens and I told him I'd be worse. What do you think of the ending of the second show? Isn't Gene really a big softie when it comes to his mom and family?

He is a total softie..I think the ending is tyipcal of the genre trying to create drama where we know there isn't any.
The concert had a date in July up..and if Gene was having serious health issues it would have been "newsworthy" so I doubt that will be much. As for the lie detector thing. Don't you think if he and Shannon did have issues they wouldn't really do this? That's just me as they do seem fairly aware of all of this stuff going on.

I remember in the news about Paul Stanley's health problems, but there was nothing with Gene. Gilles did say sometimes what was going on does happen with stress tests. I agree with you about the lie detector test. I don't think Shannon would have stayed with him this long if he had cheated. He's way too devoted to her. It's the rock star in him that makes him talk big.
Do you remember the episode when there were two lesbian women that wanted Gene to father a child? He was having Nick call him to get out of the meeting and Nick made him wait.

That's what happened to me. I haven't had one in ages and yesterday Scott mentioned it, so I started craving it so today I went and bought one.
So would the apple and it would last longer?
I know, but I didn't have any apples in the apartment. I went to the little convinence store in the apartment complex and bought the Snickers. I wouldn't know how old the apples were there.
I figured out the one thing I'll miss around here and that's the little store. The lady that runs it really liked Andrea and when she found out I was Andrea's mom, she would talk my ear off if that was possible. Today we said our goodbyes.:(

Well!! Aren't you all a chatty bunch today!!
Good morning all... Breaking news..... this just in from WDW.... "one rum runner spilled on a lap" ! Any guess's who sent that text message to me at 4:30 PM yesterday ????
Glad to hear Jenn's having a good time and being herself!! :D
Your PP floor must be like mine... Its frowned upon to go on the internet, but people do it anyway.
I think we should do the thread! Who knows, we might have a good following!
Apparently, it's always been a "no-no" to go on the Internet, but as everybody always did, so did I. Then, of course, somebody complained and I was the first to hear about it, as my eval is in January. So - I've been being good - but everybody else still goes on and it makes me nuts, b/c I know I could get in trouble for it since I was "officially" told by my boss at my eval - but nothing is being said about everybody else. :( So - I just keep my head down and go in the break room if I really want to post or check my e-mail.... and I bring lots of magazines or my Passporter!!
I think I will try that thread -- we'll see what happens!
Hey, I hope you're all having a good Wednesday -- I'm supposed to go in for 4hrs extra time/8hrs overtime tonight, but I'm not sure if it'll happen - it's been "nice" at work the past few, so not as many patients. Part of me wants to go in, for the $$$ - the other part of me would love to be home -- I'd have 5 nights off it a row, as I don't have to be back until Monday!!
Everybody behaving themselves?? (All except Alex... we've already seen that he's not... :D)

Boy, you all have really been a busy bunch since I last checked in yesterday afternoon! I haven't had time to go back and read every post but figure I will when things slow down again.
Today is one of those good news/bad news kind of days. I found out today that my thyroid surgery is likely going to take place the week after Easter and my back surgery is going to take place six weeks after that.
On the good news side, since the first surgery is still two and a half weeks away we are going ahead with our plans to leave for Las Vegas on Saturday to attend the annual costume show. We are only going to be gone from Saturday morning until Tuesday night but am glad for a little diversion from life even if it is going to be short-lived.
Let's see, what can I do for a question? Oh, I know, I see so many of you proclaiming your love for peeps - am I the only one who can't stand the little buggers? They are just to horribly sweet!!!

Just zooping in to say hi! I actually was by this morning, but by the time I caught up, I had no time to post. What are they feeding you guys?
Speaking of feeding, as much as I love Peeps (particularly stale ones), I've resisted them so far this year! I'm quite proud of myself. And, maybe it's mean of me, but I talked with DS and we agreed that this Easter there would be no sweets in the Easter basket. Am I awful? Are you all going to start calling me Cruella?

Well work is getting extremely stressful. The timing of the vacation could not have been better. I'm feeling like the screws can only be tightened so much before everything blows up. When I get back, I really have to be proactive in doing something different. The stress is not a healthy thing anymore. Although I get satisfaction out of work at times, right now it is not offsetting the pressure being placed on me. :(

I'm still waiting until we move to book our trip. I'm really looking forward to a vacation after this move. There's SO much stuff I want to do to the house, but some will have to wait. I've packed a bunch of stuff today and I figured I need to replace some stuff. One of the things I think I need to replace is a dresser that I had when I was a teenager. It was a cheap Sears thing that everything else fell apart when my DD was using it, except for this dresser. I went to open a drawer in it and the thing went crooked and I can't open it, so I guess after 34 years it can retire.

Not much to update. I don't know if I reported this or not, but she's out of the ICU and in a room, but on the same floor as ICU. She's still having dialysis every few days, and she's still sedated. I found out today that she's got a burn on her arm from some chemical that leaked on her (while in the hospital), and they are watching that for signs of infection. Nat... what did you finally decide to do?[/QUOTE] Ellen on a thursday your worrying about my son? Are you a good friend or what.
Well he started running a fever so we are still waiting on the dr no dr. (he is 12 not 3 thank goodness). There's no way he wants to be in a car (he said so) at this point will call him in a bit to see if he wants to try in the morning or wait till friday night. My stepdad is home (so he's now getting someone to make sure he drinks etc..my mom had left some of the mess for him to clean up!!) I did have to cancel my DB's family coming Saturday though as either way I think DS just needs some time in his own bed.
Ellen re the lolliops can't be worse then Jon's gum sharing (still yuck to me though). The one thing about the floors was I think some of the kids are using bunk beds right? Gravity and the flu would be very very bad I would think.

Hi guys - just a quick zoop in to try & catch up!! I've read through most but don't have time do the multi-quote thingy... boy have you guys been chatty!! Again!! :D
I did end up at work last night, boy were we busy... but I can't truly complain, as I got to stay on L&D and did 4hrs extra time, 8hrs overtime. Whoo hoo!! Gonna love that paycheck....
Send a little pixie dust my way tomorrow morning, if you get a chance -- it's my big "meeting" between my boss and my problem co-worker. The last week or so has resulted in a lot more info coming my way, and my boss has had to talk to quite a few people to get the whole story -- but the end result so far is that she is finally able to see what "R" has been pulling and lying about, and I believe in the end, this whole mess will do nothing but make things better. So - I guess the whole phrase "no pain, no gain" is very true in this -- I'll be glad to get it all over with!! Not sure I'll sleep great tonight, though... we're meeting at 7:15am!! Yawn!! (Have I ever mentioned that I sincerely dislike early mornings?? :ack:)
Gotta run -- took Emma to an "open library" night at school where she was able to bring her sleeping bag & a flashlight and listen to "campfire" stories... then we shopped for a few books at the book fair and came home... so she's off to bed and I just got Julia tucked away... now it's almost my turn!! I'm sleepy after three nights of work.... hope everyone has a good night and I'll zoop in tomorrow!!
Pixie dust and hugs to all who need it -- esp. to William, Nat -- I hope he's feeling better!!

Do you think you will be anywhere near AK on the 24th (monday)? I am hoping to meet up with Christine that day.
We are flying First Class on the way back. I know I will probably regret introducing my kids to this luxury!
BTW, I got a bonus at work today, sooooooo I got plane tickets for a 4 day weekend @ WDW in May... Mikki and Andrew are being terribly nice and have invited us to stay with them. I'll be sure to bring along the ear plugs so that Ben doesn't drive them crazy. :blah:
Good for you!! How fun!! :D
Hey Alex, I have Daffodils blooming! Do you want one?

I will definitely try. I'm going to meet up with Jeanne (Piglet822) either on Saturday or on Monday, depending on her schedule.
What time are you going to meet? I'm sure that Jeanne would be in for a meet if we get together that day.
Hey, Pogo, love your new siggie...but haven't I been nice to you lately? I know, I know, I've just been too busy with the house!!!!!
Maybe I didn't mean you...... maybe it was somebody else ! Did you ever think of that ??
Naw.... you are one of the reasons. :D
How's the move going ??
That's MRS. Pain in the Neck to you mister! :fresh:
Soooo.... if you push on Pogo's belly button will he say "AAAAFFFFFLLLLLAAAAACCCCC"?
So......... you don't need me anymore ??? :D
Is everyone ready for the weekend? I sure am! Especially since we hit 90 days tomorrow and we get to pick our seats for the flight down. I'm so excited!
Please pick your seat in private ! We don't need to know that much about you. :D
Have a grand weekend everyone! Hopefully I can check in some times during the weekend if we aren't too crazy.
See you real soon !:D

I missed tea again!?! I need to stop having a life away from this thread. ;) Actually I made a nice pot of Earl Gray this morning. (Carol, I bought some pretty fabric to make tea cozies. I thought of you.)
After packing all that fabric, if you were closer I'd given you a bunch. Now I have to figure out how to make it all look nice and orderly. I'm really trying to think of a really nice system to store it and all the scrapbooking stuff.
Fun? Not usually. Interesting? Usually. Entertaining? Sometimes. Its amazing the nut cases out there....:D
Turn the music up REAL LOUD, and you won't notice the Meeeoooowwwwws!
Hey Alex, I have Daffodils blooming! Do you want one?
After working in retail, I could tell stories of a few nut cases I've dealt with!!!
Mittens wasn't as bad as I thought he would be on the drive. Since we got him here, he's been a nut case. It doesn't help we put him in a new place with all new stuff. I pulled out my pillows and blankets and he wants to stay right there.
Shhhhh...don't you think he is one? :D

How's the move going ??
Hey I know you well enough to know you meant me!!!:D
Move is going well. I'm at the house with the cat for the night. Gilles went back to the apartment to get the last little bit done before the movers come in in the morning. I feel so sorry for him. He's exhausted and he was going back to pack a little more before he went to bed, then finish when he get up.
After seeing Mittens tonight, we're glad we brought him over tonight. We were trying to unload the stuff from both of our cars, and he kept trying to run outside. I think I'll have to lock him in the bathroom when everyone starts to show up.

Do you believe it - as of today, we are into single digits! Only 9 more days! :D
The bad news? DD is sick AGAIN! :( She is running a fever this evening. This makes 3 weekends in a row!! She just finished her antibiotics on Tuesday, so it could be the ear infection is back, or could be a totally unrelated virus, which of course will move into her ears in a few days... :thedolls:
I'm going to try to take her BACK into the Dr. tomorrow morning. Anyone have any spare pixie dust? We need to kick this before our trip!

Good evening. :D Well, my computer (power supply fan) started making that horrid noise again tonight. Up until this time, I was able to spray some compressed air into the vents and it would stop, but not today. So, I finally opened the case up and found that the power supply fan is a component of the power supply and all has to be replaced as one unit, so I ordered a new one (I probably could have gotten one locally, but it was easier to order it), but it will be 3-5 business days before I receive it. But, I have hubby's laptop to use (when he's not on it, like now) and my work laptop, so I should still be around. Of course, the computer is several years old and I should probably just get a new one, but I'm really not ready for that investment just now.
Did anyone hear that the dome in Atlanta got hit by a tornado during a basketball game? Hubby just came in and reported that, but there hasn't been anything on the news about it yet.

Zooooop.
Opening night was great. I was very proud of all the kids in the cast (using the term 'kids' loosely to mean anyone younger than me). Actually, most of the cast is under thirty but they range up to 45+. We also had a great opening night audience.
The rest of this weekend is sold out.
Can somebody spot me a question?

Hope everyone has plans for a fine weekend! Talk to you later.
Ellen, you didn't miss afternoon tea yesterday. It didn't happen. When I logged in to offer a pot, the discussion boards were down and I didn't get another chance to log in later. I've had my pot of blended green and oolong this morning. Quite tasty. Would you like to try a cup?
Congrats on the bonus! Is there any better way to spend bonus money? I think not!
Oh no..... you are one of them ????
And I was just beginning to like you.
Not after she took a shot at me !
Pogo, I'm sorry. My inner devil got the best of me. :goodbad: Forgive me?

Congrats on the countdown! Are you so excited you stand it? I'm still several months away and I'm having to contain my excitement or DH will get quite tired of me.
Here's some :pixie::pixie: for your DD and some more for Nat's DS and any others who need it :pixie::pixie::pixie:

Is Mittens any better this morning? He sounds like he's having the typical move response. I think tucking him in the bathroom with some blankets, a little food and water, and a litter pan, of course, is the way to go while the movers are there. Scratch him under the chin for me, okay?
Busy day today for me, too. Window man is supposed to come this morning to give us a price. DH and I are gradually replacing all the windows in our house. After that, yard work then it's off to get my hair cut.
Anyone up for Mexican food for dinner tonight?
Later!

Good morning Deb! I hope your old computer holds up. How old is it?
I grew up in K'ville - I'm a Lady Vols fan - Pat Head Summit is great.
I do have some coconut macaroons. I've been craving them for two weeks, so I hit Whole Foods last night and bought a box. Would you like one?
