We were just wondering what the longest period of time anyone has stayed at WDW?? We had a full 7 days one time, which still didn't seem like enough. :mickey:

I have joked for several years that, were I to win some immense amount of money, I'd be tempted to "move" to WDW for 6 months or a year or something insane like that.

But in our experience, we haven't been there any longer than 5 days or so at a time. :(

Seven is our longest......the money ran out before the days did.....ooops.....If I can come into a crazy amount of money that I don't need for anything else, I wouldn't mind throwing it Disney's way and staying an indefinate amount of time....

Our past vacations usually lasted 7 days. This past September we realized it not much more to stay the extra 3 days to make it 10! We also had the free dining so it was a dream. I don't think I could go back to less than 10. It was so relaxing. We had 8 day park hoppers and felt we did not need to rush, and never felt guilty about taking the afternoons to swim at the resort. It was so nice. We booked 10 days for this coming September (Sept. 26th - Oct 5th).

The longest we ever stayed was 16 days. It was PURE heaven....we spent a few hours at parks and spent a few hours at the resort, then off to DTD...we really just relaxed and did not feel any pressure.
I would do anything to get to do that again. :cloud9:

We recently spent 10 days at POR, mainly because this year we had an annual pass and it just worked out for us financially. It was pretty awesome to have that much time at WDW, but with 2 little ones I was really glad to get home on day 11. :sleepin: That said, I have felt the same about staying for a week. Either way we feel blessed to get any amount of time in WDW! It was really nice to not feel the pressure of having to get to every park and do everything. We got to enjoy the resort alot more.

Longest for us has been two weeks on our honeymoon. Even after that long we did not want to leave. Most trips are 5-7 days:thumbsup:

One of my neighbors spent 3 whole months at the campground in an RV once...
But our record is 5 days at the campground.

We drive to WDW on Friday (last day of school) arrive in the evening and stay until the following Sunday. I tell my spouse this is a week. I'm not sure I could add any more days without my family thinking I am a lunatic, but I must say I would LOVE to try 2 full weeks and really relax and enjoy the resort too.

We stayed 6 days and it was just NOT enough. My next trip I have told DH that I want to stay at least 10 days...maybe more. When we stayed 6 days we seemed rushed...of course we took one day and went to Seaworld...would not do that again....it has changed greatly in the past few years....would rather spend the time at one of the parks! I would give anything to go back again this year...but DH says no Disneyworld trip until he gets to the Black Hills and Yellowstone. :(

Our daughter and her family stayed at Shades of Green last May/June for 10 days right after her husband got back from his 2nd deployment to Iraq. He deploys again in a couple of months. They are hoping to fit in a trip to Disneyland when he comes home in January for mid-tour leave. They also plan to go back to Disneyworld when he gets back next year from Iraq for another 10 - 14 day stay. At least those were their plans when we last talked.

Our longest stay was 15 nights, 10 at Pop and 5 at WL, in November, 2001. Rates were way down since no one wanted to travel. It was heavenly. Just booked our November trip with 5 nights at Pop and 7 nights at WL. Only 35 more weeks - but who's counting.:joy:

We do 14 nights every July and 7-9 nights every Oct for MNSSHP. Even though we are there about 25 nights a year, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish I was at WDW. You can never get enough! Is it July yet?

A few years back we stayed for 42 full days, tried several different resorts and it was such a nice feeling, not to have to go back home for such a long time.
During a regular vacation we now stay between 21 and 28 days.

Does anyone remember the young guy that was trying to spend a year at the Disney World hotels? He was posting his blog for several months but then it dropped off. Does anyone know what happened with that?

My longest stay was 12 days...still not long enough!

We went for 11 days on our honeymoon. That was the longest. I think we've done 10 days a few times since then, but our most common trips are 5-7 days long.

We really prefer to go 2-3 times a year for shorter stays vs. going for a long stay once a year.

Our first visit was for 7 nights. Just what were we thinking? No way long enough for us, once we found out what Disney was all about. Next visit was for 14 nights. Still not long enough.
In Apr / May 2006 we spent 21 days (20 nights) and it was great. Dec 07 we were there for 17 days (16 nights) which was fine for Dec. We are planning our next vacation - Apr / May 09 and are hoping for 7 day cruise followed by 7 - 14 days in WDW. It is however getting more difficult as DS is in High School and we DO pull him out of school for our vacations. We are lucky that he is a VERY good student.

Our longest trip was our latest WDW trip, 13 nights, 14 days. Now that we've done that, we've decided that we'd rather stay 9 nights.

Last time we went to WDW was Nov '07 11 days 10 nights! Total bliss when we went... lines were literally 15 minutes or less, many walk on rides and or shows, only long wait was jungle cruise. We are going to book this summer for Nov 18th-28th 2009 another 10 nighter! YIPPEE!!!!

The longest we have stayed is 7 nights. We take the kids out of school to take advantage of lighter crowds and shorter lines and we just can't take them out for more than one week. I would love to go for a 10 day stay sometime. After next year DD will be starting high school and we won't be pulling her out of school anymore. If we go back it will have to be during a vacation. We might have to start going every other year and staying longer.

So far the longest I've stayed is 8 days. In HS I stayed for 4, so 8 felt like heaven, but my DBF and I swore we'd try for longer next time we go so in Sept 08 were staying for 10! Its good to hear others say that its heaven, I certainly can't wait!! :cloud9:

12 nights......for our honeymoon.

It would have been 14 but my husband was a stuggling musician at the time and his band booked a gig in Cincinnati on the 13th night we were supposed to be there. I'm sure that is why the singer was divorced twice by the age of 25.

Usually 10 or 11 nights, which gives me 9 or 10 full days at WDW.

Most people who visit WDW for 3 weeks plus live outside the US, where holidays (vacations to Americans) usually are significantly more generous.

The MYW pricing structure makes it a lot easier to stay up to 10 days without hurting the wallet (for tickets anyway)

Our last trip was 13 days, with 10 day hoppers. The other 3 days were covered with Sea World and a couple of off days.

And that still wasn't enough...

Our longest is 14 nights 15 days. We usually go for at least 10 days, for the most part once a year.

I am amazed at the people that go for three weeks plus! I cannot imagine being there that long. I love to travel and WDW is by far my favorite destination but I like to go home after a couple of weeks I couldn't imagine being there (or anywhere for that matter) for a month or so!!!

For those of you that go for 3 weeks plus what do you do all that time?

jaredkari
01-30-2008, 06:14 PM
I am guessing that people who go for 3 weeks plus just end up buying a season pass?? Am I correct in assuming that?

About how much does a season pass run??

CaptainJessicaSparrow
01-30-2008, 11:07 PM
The seasonal pass is only available to Florida Residents (and I think they added Georgia to it). Otherwise, they'd have to get the annual.

A Seasonal is about $230 or so, with blackout dates for all 4 parks.

An Annual is about $430 without blackout dates for all 4 parks (I think).

I wonder that for the families that stay in the Deluxe resorts and go more than once a year. We go for a long time as we have to pay a lot for our airfare, but always stay at the POFQ with some type of discount on the rooms - usually CAA discount.

For those of us who stay 3 weeks or longer..
First DVC makes it possible..its what they call a home away from home..and it really is..with all the accomodations of home its easy to stay for long periods of time.
2cd. Yes we all have annual passes..
3rd. There are so many things to do besides the parks etc. you would be surprised how many days we just relaxed and took in all the sights and sounds.
4th. Yes it can get expensive staying that long..
we save up alot for those trips..and family has alot to do with it..splitting the costs etc..not to mention they have alot of $$$...and are retired....of course we manage our $$ well..stocking the room with groceries..not buying alot of souveniers etc...packing snacks to the parks..its not so bad..
5th..Staying that long gives us plenty of time to explore all Disney has to offer and then some..its really alot of fun...

My last thrip I went for 7 nights. That was a good length for a trip, although I could have stayed a few more. After the 7th night I drove to Tampa for a conference over the weekend before driving back to Orlando to fly home on Monday. I enjoyed the conference, but would have liked to have stayed at WDW for 3 more nights.

I hope to go in May with a trip of 4 nights at AKL then 4 nights on Disney cruise then 2 nights at POP.

The longest we have stayed was:
:cloud9:17 glorious:cloud9: days in 2007.

Prior to that was 15 days for our honeymoon in 2006. So in a span of 16 months we spent 32 days at WDW:blush:. Both trips have been my only trips to WDW but my DH has been to WDW a total of 6 times now...lucky brat!

I wouldn't go for less then 10-14 days. It would be hard to go and be able to leisurely enjoy myself...unless of course I went by myself:secret::secret::secret:. Hmmmmm

We usually stay for 9 days and it is never enough! I would love to go for two weeks or longer! There is so much to see and do! Maybe if we did stay for two weeks we could spend a little more time enjoying our resort! That might be fun! :mickey:

Our longest is 9 days. Each trip has gotten a day or 2 longer! We've found that for us, it's still not enough! Alas, we can't strectch this years trip any longer, :(, DH is on a new job & can't take vacation until the fall we we'll be taking DS's out of school for a couple of days. They have a short break & we'll manage 8 days, & I'm hoping to be able to add in the MNSSHP! OMG, a day less & another event! How ever will we do it all!

Someday I plan to stay for two, long, glorious weeks! :cloud9:

Our two longest trips... 14 days in October 2003 & 15 days in November 2004! Definitely our two best trips! It nice to be able to spread things out & not feel rushed.... but normally we're there 7-8 days. Not long enough!! :D

We've stayed 8 nights but my dream is for 2 whole weeks at the Poly.We rarely ever buy souveniers and we can eat pretty healthy on the cheap. The only added expense since we're Annual Pass Holders is the room and food.If we go with an AP rate we can stay longer for not to much more money if we stay at a Value or Moderate resort. Now you got me thinking!

We shoot for 11-13 nights. We will be there 5/31 - 6/11 this year. And no, its never enough.
This will be my first trip with my darling new wife, and the first trip ever for my two new sons. My two "old" sons are multi-trip veterans, and they cant wait to share the magic with their new brothers.:grouphug:
