Jan. 29, 1915 - Author and storyman Bill Peets, known for writing “101 Dalmatians”, and “The Sword in the Stone”, and contributed to the classics “Fantasia” and “Pinocchio” was born in Grandview, Indiana.
Jan. 29, 1920 - Walt Disney started his 1st job as an artist at $40 a week with the Kansas City Slide Co.
Jan. 29, 1941 - Disney’s 3rd feature film “Fantasia” premiered in Hollywood, Ca. The films general release was in Nov. 1940.
Jan. 29, 1943 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “Donald’s Tire Trouble” was released.
Jan. 29, 1950 – Actress Ann Jillian was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her Disney credits include the live-action films “Babes in Toyland” and “Sammy the Way Out Seal.”
Jan. 29, 1959 - Disney’s 16th feature film “Sleeping Beauty” premiered at the Fox Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles, Ca.
Jan. 29, 1960 – The Disney TV show “Wild Burro of the West” aired.
Jan. 29, 1961 - Herbert A. Disney, Walt’s eldest brother, passed away.
Jan. 29, 1961 – The Disney TV show aired episode 13 of “Texas John Slaughter: End of the Trail.”
Jan. 29, 1987 – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs parade onto the floor of the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of Disney’s highest-ever 1st quarter revenues.
