I have a cash reservation for December for a BC studio. I have seen many photos and it looks very nice. I am used to renting points for the one bedroom, but this time I will be paying Disney cash for the studio.

What is actually in the cabinets in the wet bar?
Will there be a couple of mugs for my hot tea ?
What about a bowl for hot oatmeal ?

I will dearly miss the DVD player. I saw some compact DVD players, and I had the idea to buy one, and bring it in my carry-on luggage on the plane. How easy do you think it would be to hook it up to the TV in the room ? Has anyone done this before ?

Thanks In Advance.

Never hooked a dvd player there, but have stayed in BC studio several times. As far as dishes, there are mugs, glasses, throwaway bowls and small plates, plastic "silver" ware. There is a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, fridge and small sink. Also supply of dishwashing liquid and towels. Hope that helps!

Is there not a DVD player in the studio? I was at BCV a couple weeks ago. We had a couple 2 bedrooms with the studio lock-off. It seems to me that there was a DVD player in the studios, but I didn't spend much time in them. Can someone clarify?

I do not think that there is a DVD player in the studio. We have taken our portable dvd player with us and hooked it up with no problems. We took the hook up cables that came with the unit and plugged it into the back to the television. Good luck!:mickey:

I "think" the studios have real glasses and mugs, but I definitely remember that there are paper plates and plastic utensils.
If you need a bowl for cereal/oatmeal inthe morning, I suggest bringing one from home.

And DVD players are not in the studios. But it sounds like you can hook yours up without a problem. Just make sure you bring your own AV cables.

Just got back from BC and had a wonderful time last week (even though the weather was less than desirable). To be honest I didn't even look for the DVD player but there may be one. We had a DVD player on our SSR studio in June. The mugs and glasses are glass. Don't worry about having tea. You will also have free internet access in your room and in the lobby. The hook up didn't work in our room and the front desk gave us a card with access code for use in the lobby. Not a place where I would normally do work but we sat on comfortable couches and I was able to get something done that I needed to get out. :mickey:

Every studio we have stayed in since 2006 has had a DVD player in it.

I was seaching for the answer to this questions (DVD player vs. not) when I stumbled on this thread. I am confused, because I've read MANY times that there is NO DVD player in the Studios @ BCV - which we viewd as a major sacrifice when we chose BCV over AKV (where we have stayed before and ARE equiped w/ DVD players and flat screens)
However, when looking under the DVC section of the official website, it gives a description of the studio & lists DVD players - surly the official website isn't wrong, right?)
(if you go to DVC.disney.go.com and choose BCV & click on accomodations - this is where you can see that they have DVD players listed for the studio)

This thread was started almost 2 years ago!

Many of the BCV rooms have been recently rehabbed. When we stayed last October, we could see them hauling all the old furniture out of the units.
They probably put in DVD players (and the flat panel TVs) at that time.
If it's important, I'd call the Beach Club directly and ask someone in Guest Services.

Stayed in a studio on 9/25 at the BWV (Floor 5) and it was completely redone. Flat screen TV, new everything including a DVD player. However, after our cruise we stayed again on 10/3 at the BWVs (Floor 2) and although the room itself had been redone, new paint and such, the new furniture was not yet in thus no flat screen or DVD player.

You could call the Resort to check the status however unless the Resort has been completely finished, it is pretty much catch as catch can with room availability.

Additionally, in a Studio you will get 4 real glass glasses and 4 real glass mugs, like in the one Bedroom units but the plates and bowls will be paper and the silverware is plastic which come pre-packaged, like the sugar and creamer.

Cabinet-wise, there is no under counter storage, just storage above the counter, where the glasses and bowls, and such are located. There is also a shelf in the closet that can be used too.

Thank You, This all helps a lot.

Even though I am the original poster of almost 2 years ago, the very same thread is helping once again!

Thanks!

This thread was started almost 2 years ago!

My apologies. I suppose when I search for threads I should double check the dates. Haha, I supose 2 years would account for the discrpencies!

I have a cash reservation for December for a BC studio.

So Cookie123, I know your trip must have been... haha. almost a year ago, but how was it? Next summer will be our first experience on the BC & we're so excited! How was your room, was there a flatscreen/dvd? What was your view of? Did you request a specifiv view? Any info would be appreciated, we're SO excited!!!

Hello,

Thank You for asking. My vacation was absolutely wonderful!

I was on a higher floor at the Beach Club Villas. I had a studio room. My room had a view of the courtyard and trees. It was NOT a "special" view, but a quiet view, just what I wanted. No - I did not have a flat screen TV. There was a DVD player in the room, but it just was NOT working properly.
I had brought a small DVD player, anyway, so I just unhooked, their player, and hooked up mine.

I was a happy camper !!!

This was my solo trip, and this coming Dec. 8th, will be another solo trip. ( BWV )

I leave my DH at home with our 2 cats. He is such a good "kitty daddy" LOL !
