I'd like to thank the Gingerbread Home Builders Association for all their support, Tricks for coming up with the Big Easy name for my Southern Bell and of course my ten children, without who's support I could never have completed the project you all see before you.. Well VMK has updated what they have said and said that everybody that didn't win they said

For those of you that didn't win, we didn't forget about you, as a token of our appreciation for your hard work, ALL the players that submitted a room for the competition will receive this prize The donald duck present

So basically for making a room we get a prize that is meant to give away how stupid is that?

I'm so disappointed I dont mind that we didn't get the stuff they said was a participation prize but out of all the prizes they could give they give us something that we are supposed to give to others:mad:

It does say finalists but as usual it can be read a couple of different ways depending on who is doing the reading.. "participation prize" is what confused everyone.

I was trying to be optimistic and told people we would know soon enough. Bummer.. :(

Well when you think VMK can't get worse, a prize for spending all your credits is a prize you can't even keep. Even if we could keep it, its not that great a prize. What's the point. I guess some 1980 or so people might not be staying around VMK anymore after this type of treatment. Its getting old. At least in the past we got something good for entering.

Perhaps VMK needs to pick up a dictionary they are pretty inexpenive and hey they always have the internet there are many places they can find the meaning of that word for free.

I look at it like this...

They originally said all that stuff was the partipation prize. Whether or not that is what they meant that is what they posted. They only later changed it but they should honor what they said. If I go to the store and an item is marked wrong they have to honor what they price says they didn't mean to have it like that but thats what was posted so they need to do it. This should be the same in VMK. But appearently those types of things doesn't matter to them.

Something I think is really sad however is something I saw Phinny saying tonight.

Fin even said that she said everyone should be a winner, but they didnt listen to her sadly

So at least we know it isn't the Hosts choice in the matter which is very sad.

Which is very sad since hosts are the closest representation of us to the big guys who (seem) to make most decisions in the game. Yet if they don't listen to their own staff that are with us the most, it shows you how little they care about our opinions.

So what gets me is, VMK is a virtual world with virtual stuff. We don't pay, they don't pay. They make a mistake in a post and say participants get this. Then they say we didn't mean it. So now you got half of vmk mad at you. Since this is virtual stuff, don't they just program a code and then hand it out. Its not like its costing them money. Contact Us was broken tonight. Geez wonder why.

There seems to be terminology problems. I guess that's why we went from Gingerbread Competition judging. To the announcement that says Gingerbread House and Holiday Room Competition. Maybe that explains why some holiday rooms won instead of all gingerbread. :cool:

Congrats to all the winners! I was surprised that several I thought would have won didn't, but am glad they still picked some awesome rooms.

VMK is kind of lucky I'm on the recovering end of the flu, so I'm reacting to all this with like half a brain. Some of it is upsetting but I'm too tired to care.

I think that's the part that upsets me the most. I would have come up with something different had I known the Gingerbread HOUSE was optional. Seriously, I saw a lot of rooms which were great, but where was the house? It's kind of like the ride competitions where there's a great room and 4 pieces of track. I think that takes away from the challenge and competition and creativity if the main focus is disregarded.

I remember talking to Fin about this on 2 other occassions. And it's sad that the Hosts have no say in what goes on in their events, whether it's their game rooms, competition judging or whatnot.

What I think is really sad about them not listening to the hosts is because contact us is no help at all everybody is going to be taking their anger out on Lily, Phinny, and Hula and they agree with us but that doesn't matter so they are going to get everybody's negative comments when its in no way their fault. That really isn't fair for them.

Personally I didn't spend any money on the competition. I had a house and when the competition opened I entered what I had already done. I wasn't expecting to win or get anything more than a flag as most of you stated you were "only expecting" also (I love my flag). When I signed up to register it only said I need to have some gingerbread in the room, so I didn't feel mislead at all. Maybe it was better I was in the dark about the contest to begin with.

This tread was supposed to be for the winners and part of that is my fault for piping in about prizes. Now that it's off topic I'll close it.

So, this "lets be angry" post needs to move somewhere else. Please feel free to re-start it elsewhere.

Before I close this thread I'd like to end it by Congratulating our fellow INTERCOT members, friends and winners..
