My four month old daughter has this condition.

heterochromia- a condition in which one eye differs in color from the other, or in which a portion of an iris differs in color from the remainder.

My daughter has the later... She has the brightest blue eyes... and about 1/6 of her right eye is dark brown! Very cool looking! My ped. is going to send her to a specialist at 6 months if the eye color doesn't change. I noticed it shortly after birth... and it hasn't changed yet.

Apparently it is a very rare condition... just wondering if any other Intercotees have/know someone who has this condition?

If anyone is curious... I got a pretty good pic of her eye. If you check out my homepage, click on Genevieve's page, click on her blog, and the pic is at the bottom of the 1-11-08 entry.

I had a friend in High School that had two different color eyes. One was green the other was brown. It was pretty neat looking.

Although I've never seen it with a portion of the eye a different color like that.

I too went to high school with a girl who ghad this one eye was blue the other brown. I thought my youngets daughter had it as well as she was born with 1 brown and 1 blue but as she got older the blue eye turned brown.

My younger sister has this. One eye is green and the other is half green and half brown. I don't believe it has ever been a problem though.
She was born like that and it never changed. She is 28 yrs old now.

My friend's granddaughter has this. She's four now and it hasn't changed but her eyes are fine, no problems.

David Bowie has two different color eyes, but I'm not sure if it's natural or from a trauma.

A player on our local NHL team has it. He has one blue eye and one browny-green.

As far as I know, it's really just an appearance thing and doesn't cause any harm to the individual.

I went to high school with a girl with blue eyes with a quarter of one of them being brown. It was pretty neat looking!

Kate Bosworth has this, as does Dan Akroyd, David Bowie, Jane Seymour and Christopher Walken. Supposedly Alexander the Great also had it...

so your DD is in great company... :mickey:

I went to high school with a guy with one blue eye and one green eye. I don't remember him having any problems with vision though. It was more of a conversation hot topic than anything.
