WOW,
I've never seen that many people in the park...lol
It was a great time though! What a way to bring in the new year!
Alright, now to the question I had.
Does anyone know what full capacity is at MK?
They actually had to close MK during the day because it was too crowded. I was just wondering if anyone knew an approx. # of quests that must have been there?
TIA!

The highest that I saw online that it got up to was Phase 3 closing. So only resort guests and I think AP people were allowed in, but everybody else was turned away.

They used to announce attendance - years ago. Once when we were there, they said it approached 90,000!!! That was New Year's Eve - back when there was only MK and Epcot. You could not MOVE in the MK! It was a nightmare. This was mid-80's.

I'm pretty such we had reached Phase 4 by 11:00, or so my leaders had told me when I clocked in at 3. I had trouble even getting into work.

We got to a phase 4 at about 11am as Jessica said. Remember, I still have friends (managers and CMs) at the turnstiles ;)

We were above 75,000 New Year's Eve this past week.

Max capacity is usually determined by Reedy Creek's Fire Marshall of the day, depending on crowd flow. If shows and attractions are sucking up crowds, then the streets can hold more people, therefore, more people in the park. If not, then that number is smaller. I've seen the park close "due to capacity" at about 60,000, and as high as 77,000.

They used to announce attendance - years ago. Once when we were there, they said it approached 90,000!!!The Disney parks never publicly announce official attendance numbers. MK would not hold even anywhere close 90,000, although EPCIOT might; I'm not sure what their numbers are. A good summer day crowd is about 40-45,000, so you cvan imagine how bad almost twice that is...

I figured that it had to get up to Phase 4 that day. With Soarin wait times over 300 minutes at some points that day, it had to be a total mess all over the resort.

I know Epcot was still open and allowing Guests as of 3pm (when I drove by to go to work at MK). But they might have been on either Phase 2 or 3. MGM apparently never got that high as I called later in the evening to check for a Guest who wanted to leave MK and they were still admitting all Guests.
