Dec. 29, 1865 – Hollywood character actor Otis Harlin, who supplied the voice of Happy in Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” was born in Zanesville, Oh.
Dec. 29, 1954 – The Disneyland TV series aired the short film “Beaver Valley/Cameras in Africa” and the footage from the upcoming adventure “The African Lion.”
Dec. 29, 1955 – The Mickey Mouse Club aired the episode “Today is Circus Day” on ABC-TV.
Dec. 29, 1974 – Attendance at WDW hit a record 74,597 forcing the park to close for 4 hours.
Dec. 29, 1995 – The Disney/Hollywood Pictures film “Mr. Holland Opus” had its premiere in Los Angeles, Ca. and was considered for an Academy Award. (General release was Jan. 19, 1996)
Dec. 29, 2001 – According to today’s issue of Billboard Magazine, the top 10 video rentals in the USA include Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (at #5) and “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in The House of Mouse” (at
#7).
Dec. 29, 2003 – The second part of Disney’s miniseries “Dreamkeeper” aired on ABC.
