HM - whispering gargoyles

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but DH and I thought it was so cool!

Has anyone here stuck around inside the stretching room long enough to hear the gargoyles whispering to you as you leave? DH read it on Jim Hill Media, and told me we had to hear it.

They whisper some of what the Ghost Host says as you leave. You can hear them say, "Yes, stay together" all slightly off unison from each other, along with some others lines. Sounds very creepy.

Apparently the whispers were supposed to happen while the Ghost Host was talking, but were changed to the very end. We no longer wait at the door to be first in the ride queue when the room opens....we wait to be the very last ones out to hear the gargoyles.

It is a very cool and creepy effect it's a shame most people miss it.

I read it here once and listened for them on Tuesday when I was there. I could hear them whispering but, I am too hard of hearing to hear exactly what they were saying...lol.

We had read this ahead of time as well and we made a point to hang out afterwards and listen. Definitely cool but sometimes it's hard to hear depending on how noisy all the other people are:(

Yes, it's obvious the same Imagineers that did HM didn't work on SSE. It's too bad...

If you watch, Madame Leota's eyes will open and look around periodically.

Very cool tidbit on the gargoyles. I did not know this and will also be hanging back the next time I can set foot in the Haunted Mansion. LOVED the refurb. This gives the family and I something else to check out that'll be brand new for us next time.

We stayed around to listen to them the last time (Dec 14th) that we rode the HM. It was really hard to hear exactly what they were saying but you can really hear them laugh and cackle at the very end. We both thought it was really cool.

I had read about this so I stayed behind with my DH & DD and we didn't hear any whispering. We were the last ones to leave the stretch room. Maybe the other guests were making too much noise as they left the room.
