Does anyone know if you can use Disney Dollars or Disney gift cards at the restaurants at WDW? If so, what about tips? Would we be able to pay for those with the cards as well?

We are just trying to figure a way to streamline everything with the new tipping policy on the dining plan for '08 without lugging around wallets etc.

thanks!

Are you staying on property? If so the best option would be to charge the meals & tip to your room card and then pay your room charges with Gift Cards and DDs. That is how we did it this past October. The people at the front desk were very great about the fact that I had over $700 in Gift Cards and DD to pay my room account.

I've used Disney Dollars for meals before, but haven't used Disney Gift Cards.

When it came time for the tip, I wasn't sure what would happen if I gave Disney Dollars, so I gave good old American dollars instead. I didn't want a CM to be stuck with Disney Dollars and be forced to use them to buy something from his/her employer.

That's an awesome idea! That way, you don't have to worry about what to do for the tip like I did!

Thanks for the suggestion, Iluvpooh!

We have used giftcards for many dining experiences at WDW, because we go in January and our families usually give us the cards as Christmas presents :mickey:
