How long would it take- round trip- to travel from ASSports to have lunch at Whispering Canyon and then back to ASSports using Disney transportation?
It would take quite some time since you would have to travel to a theme Park or DTD and Transfer to a Wilderness Lodge Bus or Boat. I would count on it takeing atleast an Hour and a half to 2 hours depending on how lucky you are with buses.
I would Highly recommend taking a Taxi.

I would recommend taking the bus to MK, and then the boat to WL, much easier (in my opinion) than the bus transfer at DTD.

Would Trails End be quicker?
Getting from resort to resort is a night mare since there are no direct buses. It would basically be the same process. You would just be taking a bus or boat to Ft Wilderness instead of the Wilderness lodge.

1) Best idea is to use a taxi to-from your resort.
2) The Front Desk (or Bell Services at WL) can call a taxi for you
3) My guess at timing
. . . taxi to WL -- 15-min
. . . lunch at WCC -- 60-min
. . . taxi to resort -- 15-min

If you apply the same to a bus you would get the following timing schedule..
. . . Bus to MK--- 45 minutes
. . . Bus or boat to WL---- 30 Minutes
. . . Lunch--- 60 Minutes
. . . Bus or boat to MK--- 30 Minutes
. . . Bus to All Stars--- 45 Minutes
Total Time Spent--- 3 hous and 30 minutes (or More)
Price of a taxi--- Priceless!!!

Do taxis have car seats for our 2-year old? And how much would a taxi for that long cost?
