Is the boat ride from DTD to POR (and back) for POR or POFQ resort guests only? I've never stayed anywhere but a value resort so I'm gathering information.

I am pretty sure anyone can ride it. I have always stayed at one of the PO resorts..but noone has ever asked for ID when we got on the boats.

It is a really nice, fairly relaxing ride...

Enjoy!

Anyone staying at a Disney resort can use any of the transportation. The boat ride to DTD is great. A very relaxing ride. We always feel like you're really almost alone, even tho you are at WDW. Take the time to look around at the other resorts. It's one of the things we like to do best on our trips. Have a great time.

They have asked us for ID either. We honeymooned at POR when it was Dixie Landings, so we like to back even when we aren't staying on property. (We now live in FL and can drive to WDW for a day.) We've taken the boat ride several time and nobody ever asked us if we're staying on property.

Where do you pick up the boat at DTD?

You get on the boat in the Marketplace, over beyond Cap'n Jack's Restaurant. It's kind of between Cap'n Jack's and the Rainforest Cafe.

We just stayed at POR a couple weeks ago. When we rode the boat they didn't ask us where we were staying - just where we were going. It's a nice ride. We especially enjoyed it at night.

We had an ADR at the Turf Bar & Grill at SSR and took the ferry. No request for ID or reason for visit. :)

I appreciate all the responses. :) One last question -- does anyone know how often the boats run the route? I think that's my last inquiry. :mickey:

I'm sure someone will come along to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the boats (PO to DTD, anyway) run every 20-30 minutes during the day, and every 10 minutes after 4, until 11.

Actually, you have it almost exactly right!

Service just between POR and POFQ starts at 9:10 a.m. and runs every 20 minutes. Service starts to/from DTD at 11:10 a.m. and runs every 20 minutes. From 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. it's every 10 minutes.
