View Full Version : Won a dream - y'all don't be jealous!

Yep. It is official – the Diznee4Me family won a dream. Now don’t be jealous because this is one of the greatest dreams one can imagine.

Here is how it all started. Last Tuesday morning we were at AK. We hit E:E a couple of times and then decided to ride Dino before using our fast pass for our third E:E trip. On the way back to E:E from Dino the DD16 decided she wanted ole’ Mom and Dad to ride with her on the Hester and Chester ride. Now the DW and I really don’t like this ride. I know there has been a lot of discussion about it not really fitting in, it being tacky and so forth but to us – it just hurts. You are swung around, body jerked, muscles twisted – it is just painful – and our late 30 something old bodies just feel every tweak. :ill:

So, for the DD, we head for the ride. But up ahead we see the dream team and they motion for us to come over. At this point, I have to admit, I was lost in another world. I am thinking, “We are going to get a golden fast pass, no a night in the Cinderella Suite, no no we will be the family who travels around the world as ambassador for all of the parks!”

Now the lady says, “Sir, did you hear me.” I notice my wife and DD staring at me grinning, and the lady again says, “You and your family will be escorted to the front of Hester and Chester and get to ride it not once but twice in a row! And you get a nice certificate.”

I swear to you I heard crickets. Real crickets. Kind of like in the movies when a joke has not gone off like it is supposed to. Real crickets. I stood there dumbfounded.

I did not want to ride it once! Now I have to ride it TWICE!

So you make the choice, one night in the Cinderella Suite, or twice around on Hester and Chester (the certificate is kind of nice). The bruises on my knees and the twinge in my back have certainly lasted a lot longer than any old one night in the castle!:D

HAHAHAHAHHAAHAH that is great. Escorted to the front of the line to ride twice on Primeval Whirl. I've never even seen a line longer than 10 mins for that! Good one, dream team.

Are you sure this was a dream? It sounds a little like a nightmare. :thedolls:

Thanks for writing your experience up so cute. It really got my attention. I was all prepared to be jealous, but now I am not. :D

Woo-hoo, congratulations! ;) We thought that would be just our luck, to win something like that, but it turned out we didn't even see the Dream Team on our vacation, so really count yourself lucky. Maybe. I really hate that ride- it does hurt.

This was priceless! I won a dream, too when I was there 3.5 weeks ago.
I was Animal Kingdom's guest of the hour and wona big blue frosted cupcake at Flame Tree BBQ. I was hoping for the shopping spree! LOL

So... is the certificate an "I survived the ride.." one? :D Too funny! I wonder how many people passed on this 'dream win' before they got you guys to accept it! :D

Well, I love that ride...so it would be a dream to me!:ditto:

We usually ride it about five times in a row (then avoid that area all together). I wonder if they also give out Tea Cup dreams - we love that ride too.

So if you can't ride it because of back problems like mine do you get to keep the certificate anyway?

This is one of the funniest posts I have read in a long time!!

I am one of the few who actually likes this ride so I would have liked this "prize". HOWEVER, if they were to offer me a similar "prize" for the Tower of Terror - I would feel the same way you do about your prize. Thanks for the laugh!

Hey at least you can say you won a dream. This past trip I swear the dream team was avoiding us. Last December we had a few little dreams like popcorn and Tinkerbell pins. This time all I heard was the crickets. :D
Just wait until next year though, I am going to chase them around and say "please sir, may I have a dream, even just a little bitty one." It could happen. ;)

Congrats! :thedolls: My back hurts thinking of two times in a row:eek:. A few months back we won a dream while entering Dinosaur where we got to cut to the front of the line and ride the ride by ourselves. Normally this would have been great but by the time we were explained what was happening and received the certificate the queue had emptied out and we were the only ones in line while the car behind us went empty. After reading of your prize though I'd take mine in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the laugh.

Jiminy Crickets! .... I know all of the Dreams can't be big prizes, but I think they are stretching the "Dream" concept with some of these prizes. I guess that's what happens when you have to hand out a million or more dreams.

I love Primeval Whirl! Last time I rode it twice in a row; there was no line. Usually, though, I find the line at 50 minutes or more. Perhaps I need to go with the OP or with PirateLover!

I'm glad I could give everyone a laugh. :D I didn't think it to funny while I was limping from the ride but now it is pretty hilarious.

The wife wants to put the certificate in a scrapbook - I said put it on the scrapHEAP!

So sorry you hate the ride and had to ride it twice!! Been there, done it twice, got the certificate - hahaha!

:ditto:

We usually ride it about five times in a row (then avoid that area all together). I wonder if they also give out Tea Cup dreams - we love that ride too.

We won the Tea Cup dream - we were escorted to the front of the line and introduced to the rest of the line and everyone was told it was our un-birthday. Yup - everyone had to sing Happy Un-Birthday to us, but we got to pick our tea cup before everyone else, and we got the certificate and a very nice glossy 8.5x11 of Alice & the Mad Hatter.

Very good......I like that ride......for the kids sake anyway.....this year we got stuck on top and had to be "evac'ed" . we had to traverse the cat walk out......that was the coolest ever....I didn't have to take the "brunt" of the neck popping, jerking action....

Yea! I mean I don't mind the ride, the BF kinda doesn't like it though. But honestly since it opened we've been twice in early to mid May and once in mid December and we never encountered a long line for it.
