Ok, I haven't stayed at the WL since 1996. Are there any standard view rooms that I DON'T want? Are there any standard view rooms that are worth requesting on my reservation? Or will I be wasting my time b/c they're all not so good? Back in the day we would stay in the Courtyard rooms but if I remember correctly, there was only a choice of courtyard or standard, there wasn't a million categories of "views".

1) Now, all Standard rooms overlook the service area.
2) In the mornings, the back-up alarms of trucks is loud.
3) Unfortunately, in 2004, they reclassified a lot of rooms.
4) For revenue, they called many of the "Woods View".

NOTE: Some Standard rooms do afford a view of MK fireworks, so saying all Standards are bad is a wrong thing to assume.

Thanks Rusty, so odds are I will get one of those loading dock rooms, correct? Unless I upgrade to a Woods View?

At WL last week, we had Courtyard View. I was grumpy at first that we were one of the furthest rooms from the lobby, but at night we realized we lucked out. We could catch about 1/3 to 1/2 or so of MK's fireworks every night from above the top of the other wing. That was a nice add.
