Well... I took the dive... In August I bought into the DVC... Now, November 19, 2007, marks the day I booked my first DVC trip... October 12-18 at Saratoga Springs... 1 Bedroom villa... I am planning on a few extra days the following week, but at a resort other than my home resort.. Hopefully, 7 months out, there will be some rooms available.... PARTY TIME!!!!!

Sounds good! Are you booking a room at your home resort for the extra few days just in case you can't swap at the 7 month point? It's quite a busy time of year DVC wise that you are going!

Miki gives great advice. If you can link a reservation for the extra days at SSR now, you will be guaranteed lodging. You can then attempt to switch those days at the 7 month window.

I will be calling on Monday to book the remaining days at SSR to be on the safe side, just incase the availablity isn't there at the other resorts I am thinking of...

Ok, to update my recent planning... Today I booked October 19 to the 24th at SSR... So, total, I have October 12-17 and 19-24... Saving the extra points and staying with a friend for 2 nights, then back to Disney!!!!!!!

By the way, from past experiences, how busy does OKW get?? Does the hotel usually fill up???

It can fill up but it will be a lot easier to get into than one of the Epcot ones.

After the fiasco you went through with your purchase, it's good that you finally get to book your first stay! Congratulations!!

I always thought the fall season would be pretty light at OKW. My neighbors were there in early November and they said the resort was at 99% capacity! Yikes!!! But as stated above, it's still easier to get a room in OKW than it is at the BW or BC.
