We just got back and were disappointed that the Soarin ride was closed. I don't know how long the ride will be closed, or if it was just last week.

It was working perfectly fine on the 11th. You sure they didn't just have it down for an unexpected reason for a short period?

I've read on other boards from guests and CMs themselves how several rides were closed to do a quick "tune up" because some very high CEOs were coming to the parks and they wanted to make sure that everything was working correctly.

This makes perfect sense since Iger and Lassiter were seen in the parks recently checking up on things:thumbsup:

Were you in EPCOT for only one day??
That's always my worry when we go for a short trip (which is most of the time); That we'll have one day per park and something will be closed.

So sorry you missed it, Soarin has become one of my Favorites of EPCOT!!
I hope we won't have any problems in DEC!
I'm already going to miss SE. :(

OH, but I can't wait for the CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!:cloud9: 20 DAYS

It was up and running on Nov. 15th, 16th, and 17th. Just returned from a short trip and had the pleasure of riding Soarin' 4 times.

Wow, I hope it is operating when I'm there with my grandma..it's her favorite ride!

Btw, on a totally different subject, is Soarin' in DLR exactly the same as in Epcot??

Btw, on a totally different subject, is Soarin' in DLR exactly the same as in Epcot??Yes - the attraction is exactly the same. However, the queue area at California Adventure is much better. :)

As Carol stated, the rides are identical with different queues.

However, the WAIT TIME for the ride in FL is always longer than that in CA. We were in CA this past fourth of July. At noon, the posted wait time for Soarin' Over California was only 30 minutes!!! I would assume that the same ride in FL on July fourth was, shall we say, slightly longer! ;)
