View Full Version : Can you wait in the queue for Expedition Everest without going on the ride?

I realize that the answer to this is "yes" - some people "chicken out", I'm sure. But will they let me into the queue if I have no intention of riding? I would like to experience a bit of the ride while my family waits, but my daughter and I will not be riding it. I'm sure someone has done this before.

I've done it. I'm no sissy, but I do get motion sickness from this ride sometimes. Just tell the CM on the loading platform that you don't want to ride and he/she will point you to the exit.

I've done this for Tower of Terror. That's the only ride that makes me a "sissy"!:mickey:
The CM's shouldn't say anything. My daughter has even done this with us on Space Mt.

You can do this on every Thrill ride at WDW so your family or group can stay together right up until it's time to board and then just tell the CM who is not riding and they will escort you to a chicken exit (before you yell at me I didn't come up with name ;) )

Sure you can!!! You really don't want to miss these parts of the attractions.....I've tried for years to get my sister to do this....she won't, she say's she's afraid we'll make her ride which is totally not true......plus, the CM's won't let her if she's acting terrified....

The only potential problem I can see with this is if your daughter is too short to ride. I am not sure if the CM would allow her to enter the line even if you told them that you and her aren't going to ride. I don't know if maybe they would think you were trying to "sneek" her on. It won't hurt to ask. Have a great trip!

Thanks for all your helpful responses. Call me a sissy is you want to - but riding those rides will put me over the edge. And that would really ruin my trip. My boys love them, though, so that's enough for me!

Everyone in the party must be at least 44" to get in line.
That is exactly what I did with my son, who didn't want to ride. I didn't want to get separated from my other two, and I heard the theming in the queue was nice, so I waited in line and then bailed out at the loading platform with my youngest, who was exactly 44".

I dont think you can do this on Space Mountain (but then again, I dont think it is a "thrill Ride") because it loads and unloads at different platforms.

You can, but it is a longgggg walk around. :(

One of my boys really wants to ride stuff - until he gets to the loading platform. So we have taken the 'alternative' exit on several.
