Close inspection of the Gravity Wheel in Mission: Space reveals the logo for the one-time Epcot attraction Horizons affixed to the hub of the wheel. Horizons, which was located on the site of Mission: SPACE, featured a look at plausible future habitats, including ... space!

That is great info. Disney is famous for this. I remember going on new attractions always looking for what was left behind. Thanks for now letting me know where it is at for Mission: Space!!

Because of my bad back I have never even gone into the Mission Space building so forgive me for what may seem like a silly question but is this hub that you mention something that is visible to the general public or do you have to be "backstage" to see it?

You can see it if you go through the queue for the ride. There are ample "chicken out" chances, so you can exit again without riding.
