Ok I am sitting here at work awiting for my first class to come and can't get my mind off the Party and how great it was seeing everyone :mickey:

Well during the meet I opened my big mouth:blush:
(insert Ralph Cramden voice)

I got a Big Mouth!!!!

I mentioned planning a Hoboken Meet so just wanted to get the ball rolling on possible dates and people attending

I'd be glad to cross the harbor... will you give us directions? (We can't drive and park there, right?)

I'm waiting to get my new treatment schedule in place but Sundays should be good. Nothing really on the horizon right now so just about any weekend is good for us.

There is train and ferry service from NY so it should be relatively easy to get to and we can always meet in the train station before choosing a destination

Cheryl is still down in Florida visiting our parents, but I am sure we could be convinced to do a Hoboken meet, especially as Cheryl lives the next town over. Cheryl has a long trip to Buenos Aires coming up, then there is Thanksgiving. Maybe early December?

I'd be interested...I'd have to make a weekend out of it, but I have a close friend in Queens. Let me know.

OK I'm just a confused old lady from the south. Is the Hoboken meet going to be held INSTEAD of the New York meet?

Most likely in addition to it

We're doing New York meets in the winter and summer. This one is completely separate.

If I'm home from school, I'll be there.

New Jersey cannot REPLACE New York. Ever. Period.

The PATH train goes to Hoboken? I can't swim that far.

I can't do Nov 3 or Thanksgiving weekend. Anything else should be fine.

I can't do the weekend of 11/9-11/11. Otherwise it might work. Keep me updated.

Oh, Nov 17 and 18 are out for us (Ben's birthday)

JPL

I will look at my upcoming Calendar and suggest a date when I get home later. I'm thinking a Saturday afternoon in November but before the rush of Christmas shopping begins

Admit it you just miss us and want us to come visit you :D I'd be game as long as someone can give easy directions. The big rig knows how to get to the Weehawken Ferry very well but never ventured into Hoboken . . . . .this is new territory. :)

How does November 25th sound?

BronxTigger

The 25th will not work for me. My friend from out of town will be here.

JPL
10-30-2007, 09:26 AM
The only other date I have open is the 24th

Which I'm sure will not work for Bethany either.

And Actually December 1st is also clear on my Calander.

Errr....no my friend will be here from the 20-25th, and I'm not sure she'll want to go (although she might), but the 25th she leaves at 330pm so that is not convenient to work around.

December 1st I believe is open for me.

Okay, the 24th would work best for me (got my new treatment schedule yesterday), but the 1st will be okay too. I'll just need good directions. I'm guessing I can't drive to Hoboken, right? Can we catch the PATH train at the WTC stop? Do they take MetroCard?

Thanks!

PATH doesn't take Metrocard...they have their own cards and machines at the stations. I've taken the PATH once from somewhere (33rd?) to Laconia something or other mall in NJ to go to Arby's.

JPL

The Path is only $1.50 each way you can pay cash  And if most people are coming by train we can meet at the train station and then head out into hoboken there is good steakhouse Arthur's that is reasonably priced about 3 blocks away. We need to hear from a few more people but looks like Dec. 1st is good for about 4 people so far, 5 if Ben is coming. Need to ask Christine and Cheryl as well as wait to hear back from Jared and Cher

ElenitaB

Basically, where Ellen goes, Ben goes (so we're stuck with the little motor mouth).

The PATH does go to Hoboken from WTC? (Sorry I'm so Jersey-ignorant  )

Jared

Can we meet on Nov. 24? I'll be home that weekend for Thanksgiving and could definitely make the trip across the river.

I leave for Syracuse the next day.

I MAY be able to do the 24th. I'll know this weekend.

UPDATE: The 24th will NOT work...my friend in Queens will not be around. Only the 1st works for me.

I am staying nuetral so we have

2 Votes for November 24th
2 Votes for December 1st

We need a tie breaker or 2 here

But if I really had to choose one I think the 24th works better for me

Hammer

Both of these dates could be problems for me. Can't speak for Cheryl, as I don't see me being able to speak with her until after she returns for Argentina on November 18th (she leaves Tuesday). My parents leave on the 24th, so the time of the meet could be an issue. I'll need to check and see when they leave. December 1st, could work, but I am scheduled to go to Toronto on the 26th returning on November 30th, so I don't know if I could make an early meet on the 1st.

ElenitaB

As it will be my week off from treatment, the 24th works much better for me. But I'd make the effort to meet up with you all on the 1st too (but I can't guarantee that I'll make it as this new drug kicked my booty this past week).

BronxTigger

Do it the 24th. I'll be okay missing it; I'm going to the NYC meet at the beginning of January. Do it the 24th so the regulars like Jared and ElenitaB can go.

...I was just going to say the same thing. I will be doing the NYC meet as well (barring any big issues), and it will be a good amount more convenient for me as my friend lives in Queens...plus NYC right after New Years will be fun! So have fun on the 24th! Don't miss us too much...haha! :mickey:

So is it safe to say that on November 24th we will have a meet in Hoboken  The clock is ticking so we need to start planning soon

ElenitaB
11-08-2007, 03:24 PM
The 24th is it then? Jeff, you mentioned the name of a restaurant earlier. Is it the Teak on the Hudson or The Brass Rail? I ask because both of these offer "gift cards" on restaurant.com.

JPL
11-08-2007, 05:30 PM
Arthur's Steakhouse is the restaurant I was thinking great food very reasonable :eat:

We Just need a time and a head count and I will make ressie's

JPL
11-20-2007, 10:38 AM
Unless I get a head count by this afternoon this meet will have to be popstponed since it is too close and with the Holiday I won't be able to make ressies until Friday which will be too late.

JPL

Considering the response this meet will be postponed until a later date :(

Awww, I'm sorry it turned out this way. This is a bad time for a lot of people with all the holidays.

Maybe you can come to the NYC meet at the beginning of January. And, at some point I'm sure many of us will figure out how to cross the Hudson to have a Hoboken meet.

Thanks for trying to set something up....sorry it didn't work out this time. :(

My schedule for the next month wth shopping and other things isn't great for rescheduling either:(
