If you had a chance to retire and go to Disney for a job, what would your ideal / dream job be? I think I'd be a good Goofy !!!!

I Would Love To Work As An Event Planner For Disney. Planning Cinderella Weddings - And All Tpyes Of Disney Functions... From Cake To Flowers
Fun...............
Working For Disney Would Be Fun- But Could Get Boring Doing The Same Character For Years
So I Need Change-
The Events Would Be My Cup Of Tea

I love this post - I would love to be a park greeter - be there to tell people where to eat, what to see and do. Help plan their day.

I've always wanted to be a monorail pilot/captain/driver. It seems like it would be a fun job, plus you'd get to meet and talk to a lot of people while they ride up front. :mickey:

tiaramom, a friend of mine works for WDW in the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings area and she loves it. She says it can get stressful at times, but she enjoys helping make a bride's dream wedding come true!

God thats a hard one I think I would like to try everything (except the cleaning after people)before really picking one thing.I think I would like to be in the parks.I have been in a character custom (party coordinator at Chuck E.Cheese)before so I know how hot it gets and how some people like to abuse u while in it so I would pass on that one.It would be cool if they could rotate u around every few weeks so that u wouldnt get tired of doing the same thing all the time.

I guess beinga character would be fun, being able to see all the smiles you bring to children and adults alike would be awesome. I also think it could be fun to work at one of the resorts, that way there is less chance of the parks losing their magic for me.

Imagineer!!!:mickey:
If I couldn't be an Imagineer... I'd love to be a character. I'd also love to be a Keys to the Kingdom Tourguide or work on the ToT or HM.

In this order:
1.Monorail Captain
2.Ride operator on any of the rides.
3.Security. Can you imagine being able to go in the areas not for the public.
4.Anything in Epcot.

Love this question. It is on my life goals list to work for disney some day.
I would love to do anything in Epcot. Maybe the people greeter thing, somthing in innoventions or the photo shop.
Or maybe waitress in 50's prime time cafe or liberty tree tavern, etc. I had to think about that one but on the last trip we had a nice conversation with our server in 50's and she said she makes more $ working that job than she would make having a job using her college degree. She said the hours are great, too. And she can go to the parks on her days off.

Without a doubt, I would want to drive the boats :sail:running the FW/WL/CR/MK route. That would be my dream job:thumbsup:

Mine would be a greeter at MK. Welcoming people to the happiest place on earth, how fun. DH would drive a monorail. We frequently talk about when we retire, doing this.

This is such a great thread!:mickey:

I told my DH a long time back that I would just love to work at the front desk of a Disney resort. I know lots of people complain because I often see that just in the few times a year that I am at a resort. However, I could deal with that. I think it would be the coolest when you were able to give complimentary upgrades. The front desk just really appeals to me, but oddly enough the fronts desks of any hotels where I live have absolutely no appeal to me!

When my DS gets annual check-ups at the doctor, the doctor always writes his answer down when he asks him what he wants to be when he grows up. On the following year, the doctor compares the answers that DS has said before. DS is 9 now, and when he went back last time the doctor told me that DS' answer of "I want to be a Disney Imagineer" has been his same answer since he was 4 years old!! He just may pursue that dream! I would encourage it all the way. (Maybe mom and dad can get into the parks for free!!):mickey:

Another vote for Imagineer, but if my DD usurps that dream, I would love to be a tour guide - behind the scenes, overall historian - for all of WDW.

My DD17 wants to be an architect (sp?) and I keep telling her that that would be perfect. She can be an architect for Disney. She is certainly not opposed to the idea.

Funniest thing! My DH and I had this conversation this morning.

He said 1- Security 2- Monorail Pilot 3- Personal Trainer at one of the Gyms

I said 1- Face character 2- Imagineer 3- Travel Specialist. Help people plan their trips!

Retiring to Florida and working at WDW is my plan in exactly 13 years.... I have given this alot of thought and it will probably change over time. Right now I want to be the Fairy Godmother in the parade at MK!!! I think it would also be fun to be a concierge at one of the resorts. I think it would be fun to help people enjoy their trips.

I worked front desk at the resorts during my college program and I would LOVE to go back. My dream job would be doing special events! I think that would be so awesome to plan all the details and make sure everything is "magical". I'd also love to drive the monorail :)

I would LOVE to be PLUTO!! :pluto: but I think I would hate being in that costume on hot days :flame:

My dream job at Disney would be to work on either The Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror, in my opinion they are the BEST DRESSED CM's I'm a huge Halloween fan so I would fit perfect in these roles :bat:

After I got tired of that I'd like to "Plan the Magic" :pixie: whether it was a wedding or a birthday party or a family that needed a magical trip planned. I LOVE to be the planner amongst my friends and family :drill:

If I thought I could handle living down there I would already be there with hopefully one of my dream jobs. I'm a New Englander :fall: so I don't think it's in my near future :(

I don't even have a Disney Store near me to go work at

I know it's kind of boring, but I'd love to work in the WDW marketing/communications department. (I've always done that for companies in much less creative and exciting industries :).) I would love to develop and implement marketing, branding, and promotional campaigns, and also create WDW brochures, signage, print material, newsletters, mailings, web sites, whatever!!! :mickey:

I don't know why I didn't remember this earlier. I always say that I would love to get paid to travel to the world or the land and write guide books or even leaflets:mickey:, or contribute to a website with helpful info.
Secondly, I would love to get paid to help people plan their disney vaca. I guess that would be called a travel agent. Ha Ha º0º

I would love to be a character wrangler so I can tell little kids to back off of Pluto. No just kidding. :thedolls:

My dream would be to work in any of the productions getting the characters ready. Getting them out on stage or getting them out in the parade. I would really dig that big time.

I have always said when I "grow up"(retire) I would love to work at Disney!! I love this thread. I would have to work in the MK for sure. I would love to be a greeter or work these rides; Cinderella's Carousel, Winnie the Pooh, Splash Mountain, Or It's a Small World. :mickey:
I would also enjoy being a Disney Photographer.

If I could retire right now I would be one of the CMs who grants wishes for the Year of a Million Dreams. I couldn't imagine anything better than having the ability to bring joy to so many people. :tink: After that I would like to coordinate trips for the Make a Wish Kids.

My degree is in Public Relations/Journalism, my ultimate would be working in the weddings or event planning since I have done marketing and events. Others for me would be in costuming (I love sewing and design) or guiding tours. I keep telling dh he needs to apply for a Sr. Engineering position and then we can both go back to FL where I'm from and work there LOL. I had a chance to work for Disney years ago after college and didn't do it, don't regret it, just wasn't right at the time. I always keep it up there in the back of my mind. If I make it onto the Mom's Panel, maybe I'll have an "in"

I would love to do anything at Disney World. I guess my ideal job would be at The Great Movie Ride. I would love to be the person at the doors in the que, before you load your vehicle. I would love to watch those movie trailers!
My dad has always said that he would love to be a trash guy. We actually took a picture wtih him sweeping trash at the MGM. He has always had a wish to work at one of the golf courses, hopefully in the next few years he can retire and make that dream a reality. :mickey:

I was just having this conversation yesterday.
My Dream Job is to work at Pizza Planet.
I have been a Manager/ Dist. Mgr in the Food Business for years and have been joking around that in 5 years when my DS finishes school I am moving to Orlando to work at Disney.
My boss, friends, and family really think I am crazy but I really don't care. I have wanted to do this for years. Disney's pay may be horrible but I really would enjoy going to work everyday. My other dream jobs at Disney would be
Drive the boats (FW Route)
Jungle Cruise guide
50's Prime time CAfe
Play a street character that walks around talking with people.

5 years Disney will have my resume that's a promise!!!!

I love this post - I would love to be a park greeter - be there to tell people where to eat, what to see and do. Help plan their day.

Ditto, I am shy around people in general, but I can talk to any stranger -- especially at WDW!

I would love to just greet people and make their day a bit more magical!

Oh, and DH wants to be an Imagineer!

This one's a no-brainer. Baritone vocalist in the Voices of Liberty! I've been singing choral music the majority of my life, in groups as small as 4 and as large as 200. It's on my life list to sing just one set with VoL, while I still have the pipes to do it. :)

I would either want to work in their marketing department (it seems like I already do that for Disney, I just don't get paid for it!) or an event planner (seems to be a popular choice). I have my reservation agent interview on Monday!!!!! whee! :mickey:

ncscgirl2005

Probably a special Events planner or a character (especially a princess).

I tell my DH that if he became a character he would more than likely have to be Goofy (who oddly enough is his favorite character!) because he's sooo tall (6'4 and thin as a stick).
