I have to make this post again this year...

I listen to Kidd Kraddic in the morning on a local radio station. They are actually located in Dallas. Every year they have a fund raiser to help raise money to bring sick kids to Disney World for a week.

This year the trip is scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2007 - Monday, November 19, 2007.

The amazing thing about Kidd's Kids is that the whole family gets to go on the trip. Kidd realizes that sometimes the healthy siblings get pushed aside because the parents of sick kids have to spend so much time and energy on them.

100% of the funds raised go to the kids. There is not a bunch of people working at the radio station collecting a check first. Southwest Airlines was so impressed with Kidd's Kids that they (for the 2nd year in a row) will be donating all flights to and from Disney World. This includes the flight from their home town to Dallas for the initial celebrations, then off to Disney World!!

Because my family and I have such a love of Disney, you can only imagine how important this is to us. Every year we make our donations and I am hoping to spread the word to get a little more help for them.

Remember, the entire trip is FREE to the Family. Flights, room, meals, special celebrations and even some souveniers.
If you would like to help, Google Kidd's kids. You can read their stories, make a donation or even nominate a family.

Thanks!!

Thanks for telling us about this Angel. I'm going to check it out.

I'll never forget one trip when we were in the MK. We were waiting in one of 2 lines to see 2 characters in the little area where Main Street goes around in a cirlce just as you enter the MK. It was hot and the lines were long and the people getting irritable. They took a break and 2 other characters came out, the people were getting mad now:mad:. Anyway, a family with 2 small children was escorted right to the front to see Mickey and Minnie. What I will never forget is the look the small boy had. He was obviously sick, he couldn't even smile when getting his picture taken. It broke my heart. The rest of the line was quiet from then on.

I know what you mean. We were in line for Turtle Talk with Crush and I was bumped from behind by a wheelchair. I was a boy so excited that he could not keep still. He was there with the Make a Wish foundation and as I learned through the conversation, he did not have much time left. I spent a lot of time with that little boy. I will never, never forget the happiness I saw on his face.

The think I love about Kidds Kids is that the kids are not all terminal. Some are just in for long hard lives of treatments and there is no money for the family to ever think about a vacation. So you will see kids near death and kids with a future... not a bright future, but something to look forward to. I love that the entire family is included too.

Please, Please check it out.
