"Lake Buena Vista Village" was the original name of The Disney Village Marketplace when it opened on March 22, 1975, it was later changed to "The Walt Disney World Village." In 1989, the name changed to "The Disney Village Marketplace," and in 1997 became the "Downtown Disney Marketplace."
