Oct. 4, 1993 - The Land Grille Room closed at the Land Pavillion and will be replaced with The Garden Grill Restaurant.
Oct. 4, 1993 – Disney’s educational film “Skin Deep” (about eating disorders) was released.
Oct. 4, 1993 – WDW’s “Flight to the Moon” attraction closed in the Magic Kingdom. (It would be replaced in 1995 with ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter.)
Oct. 4, 1998 – The animated series “Rolie Polie Olie” debuted on the Disney Channel.
Oct. 4, 2000 - A new Disney Store opened at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Ca.
Oct. 4, 2002 – The Disney Channel original movie “The Scream Team” aired.
Oct. 4, 2004 – Former astronaut Gordon Cooper (one of the original Mercury space travelers) passed away at age 77. He contributed as a consultant to the Imagineers creating Space Mountain back in the 1970’s and later joined WED as a vice president of research and development in helping to plan Epcot Center.
