How do you all get from the airport to Disneyland? I know there are shuttles and rental cars, etc. but what would be the most economical choice for 9 people? Also, since none of the rental car companies are on-site at LAX is it a big pain to get on a shuttle just to go pick up your car? I am use to Disney World where we either take the Magical Express or just rent a car right at the aiport.

There are a few options but it depends. The disneyland hotels offer no shuttle so if your staying on-property you can do either super shuttle, rental car, or private towncar/limo style service. I wouldn't recommend rental car. As you pointed out, it takes a lot of time and the traffic is very frustrating. The cheapest way would be a shuttle service like super shuttle. With such a large group you should be able to get the van to yourselves (making reservations in advance for that size might be better). Reservations aren't required though, no matter what time you arrive. If you fly into LAX, than good luck! I hate that airport!

Here's the best shuttle and car info I can offer, all of these service from both LAX and John Wayne in Santa Ana:

The Disneyland Hotel has partnered with Gray Line tours and does offer a themed shuttle bus to the Disneyland Resort Hotels. You can find them online at Gray Line Disneyland Express (http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.cfm). Their direct number is (714) 978-8855.

Primetime Shuttle offers great service (IMHO they FAR exceed Super Shuttle because you actually book times and your van is there waiting for you, if they are 10 minutes late it's free!) and you can book a private van for your whole party so you don't have to worry about getting split up. They can be found at online at their Prime Time Website (http://www.primetimeshuttle.com/). They also offer private sedan, limo and executive shuttles as an option. Their direct number is 1-800-Red Vans.

Of course, Super Shuttle (http://www.supershuttle.com/) is always there, and you don't need reservations, but for a big party I would defintely book ahead of time to ensure you are all together. Their direct number is 1-800-Blue Van.

Car or van rentals can be easy if you aren't scared of the freeways ... I actually did it in July and it was WAY easier than I thought it would be. Less than 1 hour each way (we lucked out on traffic) ... but for a big group the money it saves might be worth it. If you decide on a car, think about Enterprise (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=CskCx7emGUE&offerid=61955.10000095&type=3&)as they are one of our sponsors!
