Does anyone know how much Disney is charging for the Basic & Deluxe 2008 Dining Plan for DVC Members?

There is no discount for adding the dining plan to your DVC stay. Whatever the rates are for everyone else - is what we're charged too.

$37.99 per night per adult & $9.99 per night for children for the basic plan.

$69.99 per night per adult & $19.99 per night for children for the deluxe plan.

Other than the price difference. What is the difference between the base and deluxe dining plans?

The base plan includes:

1 Table Service Meal (1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 non-alcoholic beverage)
1 Counter Service Meal
1 Snack

The Deluxe plan includes:

3 Meals anywhere you like (Counter Service or Table Service with 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert and 1 non-alcoholic beverage)
2 Snacks
1 Refillable Mug per person

Neither plan includes gratuity

Actually on the FAQ for the DDP for DVC members (how's that for alphabet soup?) it says that gratuities ARE automatically included where applicable.

Does that mean included in the bill but you still have to pay for it? Or included in the plan? I think it just means that the restaurant will include 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more but you still have to pay out of pocket for it.

What that means is the all-inclusive dinners like the Luau and HDD include gratuity just like they would if you paid out of pocket.

Just talked with member services who clarified the policy:

For 2007, gratuities are included. So when using your DDP, where you normally would tip, you've already paid for that in your plan. This normally would mean just your table service meals since you normally wouldn't tip for a quick service meal or a snack.

In 2008, the policy will change and gratuities will not be included.
